Effects of Seismic Loads with Different Return Period on Residential Building with RC Shear Wall Structure under Construction (주거용 RC 벽식 건물의 시공 중 재현주기에 따른 지진하중의 영향)

  • Even though the structural safety is confirmed in the design stage, the structural safety is not guaranteed in the construction stage because the structural system is not completed. In addition, since the construction period is shorter than the period of use of the building after completion, it is excessive to apply the same seismic load to the construction stage as in the design stage. ASCE 37-14 presents the concept of seismic load reduction factor during construction, but does not provide a clear application method. Therefore, in this study, the seismic load reduced according to the return period was applied to the example model of a residential middle-rise RC building. The construction stage of the example model was divided into five-story units, and seismic load with the change of the return period was applied to the construction stage models to analyze the change of seismic load during construction and to check the sectional performances of structural members. By comparing the design strength ratio of the shear wall at the design stage and the construction stage, the range of seismic load magnitudes that can assure the safety during construction of a residential middle-rise RC building was analyzed in terms of the return period.

Fire Resistance Assessment of Precast Duct Slab with Fireproof using Hardening Accelerator (경화촉진제를 사용한 내화재 일체형 프리캐스트 슬래브의 화재저항성능 평가)

  • Precast concrete is an effective method to increase the construction quality and construction speed by optimizing and making the manufacturing conditions similar. In order to more effectively produce a fireproof material-integrated precast duct slab, the purpose of this study was to determine whether the fire resistance performance of the fireproof layer is maintained when a method of increasing the curing rate using a hardening accelerator is used. As a result of performing a fire resistance performance test on specimens classified according to whether or not the hardening accelerator was included, increase of temperature inside the specimen was high in the specimens using the hardening accelerator, and the section loss of the fireproof layer occurred locally on the surface exposed to fire heating. In conclusion, it is judged that the fireproof layer in the case where the strength at 3th day of age is gained within 1 day curing age using a hardening accelerator does not guarantee sufficient fire resistance performance in the conditions used in this study.

Damage Analysis of Manganese Crossings for Turnout System of Sleeper Floating Tracks on Urban Transit (도시철도 침목플로팅궤도 분기기 망간크로싱의 손상해석)

  • The turnout system of the sleeper floating tracks (STEDEF) on urban transit is a Anti-vibration track composed of a wooden sleeper embedded in a concrete bed and a sleeper resilience pad under the sleeper. Therefore, deterioration and changes in spring stiffness of the sleeper resilience pad could be cause changes in sleeper support conditions. The damage amount of manganese crossings that occurred during the current service period of about 21 years was investigated to be about 17% of the total amount of crossings, and it was analyzed that the damage amount increased after 15 years of use (accumulated passing tonnage of about 550 million tons). In this study, parameter analysis (wheel position, sleeper support condition, and dynamic wheel load) was performed using a three-dimensional numerical model that simulated real manganese crossing and wheel profile, to analyze the damage type and cause of manganese crossing that occurred in the actual field. As a result of this study, when the voided sleeper occurred in the sleeper around the nose, the stress generated in the crossing nose exceeded the yield strength according to the dynamic wheel load considering the design track impact factor. In addition, the analysis results were evaluated to be in good agreement with the location of damage that occurred in the actual field. Therefore, in order to minimize the damage of the manganese crossing, it is necessary to keep the sleeper support condition around the nose part constant. In addition, by considering the uniformity of the boundary conditions under the sleepers, it was analyzed that it would be advantageous to to replace the sleeper resilience pad together when replacing the damaged manganese crossing.

Analysis of the Effect of Seismic Loads on Residential RC Buildings using the Change in Building Size and Return Period (건물 규모 및 재현주기 변화에 따른 주거용 RC건물에 대한 시공 중 지진하중의 영향 분석)

  • Unlike a completed building, a building under construction may be at risk in terms of safety if a load exceeds the value considered in the design stage owing to various factors, such as a load action different from that in the design stage and insufficient concrete strength. In addition, if an earthquake occurs in a building under construction, greater damage may occur. Therefore, this study studied example models with various sizes of 5, 15, 25, and 60 floors for typical building types and analyzed the effects of seismic load on buildings under construction using construction-stage models according to frame completeness. Because the construction period of the building is much shorter than the period of use after completion, applying same earthquake loads as the design stage to buildings under construction may be excessive. Therefore, earthquakes with a return period of 50 to 2,400 years were applied to the construction stage model to review the seismic loads and analyze the structural performances of the members. Thus, we reviewed whether a load exceeding that of the design stage was applied and the return period level of the earthquake that could ensure structural safety. In addition, assuming the construction period of each example model, the earthquake return period according to the construction period was selected, and the design appropriateness with the selected return period was checked.

Development of river discharge estimation scheme using Monte Carlo simulation and 1D numerical analysis model (Monte Carlo 모의 및 수치해석 모형을 활용한 하천 유량 추정기법의 개발)

  • Since the frequency of heavy rainfall is increasing due to climate change, water levels in the river exceed past historical records. The rating-curve is to convert water level into flow dicscharge from the regression analysis of the water level and corresponding flow discharges. However, the rating-curve involves many uncertainties because of the limited data especially when observed water level exceed past historical water levels. In order to compensate for insufficient data and increase the accuracy of flow discharge data, this study estimates the flow discharge in the river computed mathematically using Monte Carlo simulation based on a 1D hydrodynamic numerical model. Based on the existing rating curve, a random combination of coefficients constituting the rating-curve creates a number of virtual rating curve. From the computed results of the hydrodynamic model, it is possible to estimate flow discharge which reproduces best fit to the observed water level. Based on the statistical evaluation of these samples, a method for mathematically estimating the water level and flow discharge of all cross sections is porposed. The proposed methodology is applied to the junction of Yochoen Stream in the Seomjin River. As a result, it is confirmed that the water level reproducibility was greatly improved. Also, the water level and flow discharge can be calculated mathematically when the proposed method is applied.

  • 환경부 홍수통제소의 경우는 전국단위의 강수량(지상, 레이더), 하천수위, 유사량 관측과 국부적으로 증발산량과 토양수분 관측이 이루어지고 있는 상황이며, 기상청 및 다른 공공기관도 각 목적에 맞게 수문기상관측이 이루어지나 유역(또는 지역) 단위의 물순환 과정(강우량, 유출량, 증발산량, 지하수함양량, 토양수분량 등 포함)을 규명하는 조사·연구는 매우 미비한 실정이다. 개별적인 물순환 성분별 수문조사에서 벗어난 전체적인 관점을 고려한 유역단위의 물순환 과정을 규명하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 즉 물순환 성분별 명확한 수문량 산정 결과는 수자원 개발과 물환경 보전에 중요한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 따라서 물순환 성분별 명확한 분석을 위해서는 중·소규모 유역 단위를 대상으로 지속적이고 신뢰성 있는 자료의 획득과 축적이 중요하므로 중·소규모 유역 단위의 대표성 있는 시험유역의 운영은 매우 의미가 있다고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 한국건설기술연구원에서 운영하는 설마천 유역(유역면적 8.48㎢, 유로경사 2.15%, 경기도 파주시 적성면 소재)의 신뢰성 높은 2019년 관측자료를 이용하여 물순환 성분인 강우량, 하천유출량, 증발산량과 지하수 함양량의 자료를 산정하였으며, 물순환 성분별 균형을 이루는 자료를 생성하였다. 기본 관측자료인 강우량은 각 지점강우량의 관측자료의 비교·검토 등 품질관리를 통해 자료를 확정하고 유역평균강우량을 산정하였다. 하천수위는 기준수위표와의 검토를 통해 자료를 확정하였으며, 하천유출량은 유량측정성과와 단면검토를 통해 수위-유량관계곡선식을 개발하고, 확정된 수위자료를 적용하여 산정하였다. 그리고 증발산량은 유역내의 기상관측자료를 활용하여 잠재증발산량을 산정하였으며, 지하수함양량은 유역내에 관측된 지하수위자료를 이용하여 지하수 함양량을 산정하였다. 각 물순환 성분별로 산정된 자료는 과거년 자료와 비교·평가를 통해 균형성을 판단하였다. 각 성분별 최대치와 최소범위, 평균값을 고려하고, 강우일수, 강우의 강우강도와 지속기간, 기상자료(기온, 일조시간, 습도, 풍속 등)를 충분히 고려하였다. 각 물순환 성분별로 생성된 2019년의 설마천 유역의 총강우량은 1,024.1mm이며, 하천유출량은 608.6mm(총강우량 대비 59.4%), 실제증발산량은 385.1mm(37.6%), 지하수함양량은 30.4mm(3.0%)이다. 여기서, 실제증발산량과 지하수 함양량은 1개 지점에서 산정값이나, 물순환의 폐합 조건을 고려하여 산정된 결과이다. 향후 유역 전체를 대표하는 기법의 개발은 필요한 실정이다. 이와 같이 산정된 물순환 성분별 자료는 유역의 물순환 과정 규명을 위한 기초자료로 매우 유용하게 활용될 수 있으며, 유역 물관리를 위한 의사결정 과정에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A Development of Torsional Analysis Model and Parametric Study for PSC Box Girder Bridge with Corrugated Steel Web (복부 파형강판을 사용한 PSC 복합 교량의 비틀림 해석모델의 제안 및 변수해석)

  • The Prestressed Concrete (hereinafter PSC) box girder bridges with corrugated steel webs have been drawing an attention as a new structure type of PSC bridge fully utilizing the feature of concrete and steel. However, the previous study focused on the shear buckling of the corrugated steel web and development of connection between concrete flange and steel web. Therefore, it needs to perform a study on the torsional behavior and develop the rational torsional analysis model for PSC box girder with corrugated steel web. In this study, torsional analysis model is developed using Rausch's equation based on space truss model, equilibrium equation considering softening effect of reinforced concrete element and compatibility equation. Validation studies are performed on developed model through the comparison with the experimental results of loading test for PSC box girder with corrugated steel webs. Parametric studies are also performed to investigate the effect of prestressing force and concrete strength in torsional behavior of PSC box girder with corrugated steel web. The modified correction factor is also derived for the torsional coefficient of PSC box girder with corrugated steel web through the parametric study using the proposed anlaytical model.

Minimum Design Thickness of Prestressed Concrete Deck Slabs for Composite Two-Girder Bridges (강합성 2거더교 프리스트레스트 바닥판의 설계 최소두께)

  • Minimizing the self weight of long-span deck slabs is one of the key factors for the practical and economic design of a composite two-girder bridge. In this paper, the minimum design thickness and rebar details of prestressed concrete deck slabs for composite two-girder bridges with girder span length from 4 m to 12 m are studied based on the safety and serviceability. The bridge deck slab with minimum thickness is designed as a one-way slab considering orthotropic behavior. Then fatigue safety of the deck slab is examined. Serviceability requirements for the deck slab such as deflection and crack width limits are also examined. The result shows that rebars with diameter less than 16 mm is recommended for the improved fatigue behavior, and, for the deck slab with span length longer than 8 m, the deflection limit governs the minimum design thickness. The result also shows that, for the deck slab with span length longer than 4 m, the distribution rebar requirement in the current Korea Highway Bridge Design Code is not sufficient to maintain the structural continuity in bridge axis as expected from the deck slab with span length shorter than 3 m.

Quality characteristics of muffins prepared with different types of rice flour (쌀가루의 종류를 달리하여 제조한 머핀의 품질 특성)

  • The quality characteristics of muffins with different types of rice flour, such as soft flour (CON), soft rice flour (SRF), floury rice flour (FRF), and rice flour (RF) were assessed by using Image J program, which includes their particle size analysis, moisture content, pH, color, specific volume, baking loss rate, texture. (D[4, 3]) is weighted mean diameter, which is directly obtained in particle size measurements showed large values in the order of rice flour, floury rice flour, soft rice flour, and soft flour. The moisture content was high in the CON and SRF groups with small particle sizes. There was no significant difference in pH, L and b value. The a value was significantly low only in the RF group with large particle size. The smaller the particle size, the higher the specific volume and baking loss rate. Image J showed that the number of pores decreased when fewer smaller particles were the powder, but the pores were larger. Among the rice flours, the SRF group, excluding the CON group, scored high in all the acceptability elements. The results from this study can be used as basic data that can contribute to research on various rice-processed foods.
