On variable bandwidth Kernel Regression Estimation (변수평활량을 이용한 커널회귀함수 추정)

  • Local polynomial regression estimation is the most popular one among kernel type regression estimator. In local polynomial regression function esimation bandwidth selection is crucial problem like the kernel estimation. When the regression curve has complicated structure variable bandwidth selection will be appropriate. In this paper, we propose a variable bandwidth selection method fully data driven. We will choose the bandwdith by selecting minimising estiamted MSE which is estimated by the pilot bandwidth study via croos-validation method. Monte carlo simulation was conducted in order to show the superiority of proposed bandwidth selection method.

  • 원격 환경에서의 안전한 데이터 처리를 위한 기술 중 동형암호는 암호화된 데이터 간의 연산을 통한 프라이버시 보존형 연산이 가능하여 최근 딥러닝 연산을 동형암호로 수행하고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 동형암호는 신경망에 존재하는 비산술 활성화함수를 직접적으로 연산할 수 없어 다항함수로 대체하여 연산해야만 하는데, 이로 인해 모델의 정확도가 하락하거나 과도한 연산 부하가 발생하는 등의 비효율성 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 모델 내의 활성화함수를 서로 다르게 근사하는 접근을 순환신경망(Recurrent Neural Network, RNN)에 적용하여 효율적인 동형암호 연산을 수행하는 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

  • 샘플링되지 않은 불확실한 이동객체의 위치값을 추정하기 위한 기존의 연구방범 중 가장 보편적으로 사용하고 있는 방법은 선형 보간법이다. 선형 보간법을 사용할 경우 샘플링 구간은 좁게하여 오차를 줄일 수 있고 계산 시간을 단축할 수 있지만, 연속적인 이동객체의 경로는 직선이라기 보다는 곡선으로 나타내어지므로 샘플링되지 않은 이동객체의 위치값에 대해 불확실한 위치정보를 사용자에게 반환하게 된다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 샘플링된 이동객체의 위치값에 오차가 없다는 가정하에서 모든 위치점을 지나는 보간 다항식을 구해서 처리하는 선형 보간법 대신 이동객체의 위치값 자체의 오차범위까지 고려하는 다항회귀모형(polynomial regression model)을 이용한 이동객체의 불확실한 이동위치 추정방법을 제시한다. 다항회지모형은 이용할 경우 선형 보간법 보다 추정된 위치값에 대한 오차를 줄일 수 있으며, 이동객체의 과거 및 미래 위치값을 사용자에게 반환해 줄 수 있는 장점을 가진다.

  • Accurately segmenting lumen border in intravascular ultrasound images (IVUS) is very important to study vascular wall architecture for diagnosis of the cardiovascular diseases. After each of IVUS image is transformed to a polar coordinated image, initial points are detected using wavelet transform. Then, lumen border is initialized as the set of important points using non parametric probability density function and smoothing function by removing outlier initial points occurred by noises and artifacts. Finally, polynomial curve fitting is applied to obtain real lumen border using filtered important points. The evaluation of proposed method was performed with related method and the proposed method produced accurate lumen contour detection when compared to another method in most types of IVUS images.

  • A Meshfree is a method used to establish algebraic equations of system for the whole problem domain without the use of a predefined mesh for the domain discretization. A point interpolation method is based on combining radial and polynomial basis functions. Involvement of radial basis functions overcomes possible singularity Furthermore, the interpolation function passes through all scattered points in an influence domain and thus shape functions are of delta function property. This makes the implementation of essential boundary conditions much easier than the meshfree methods based on the moving least-squares approximation. This study aims to investigate a stress analysis of structural element between a meshfree method and the finite element method. Examples on cantilever type plate, hollow cylinder and stress concentration problems show that the accuracy and convergence rate of the meshfree methods are high.

Effect of Various Regression Functions on Structural Optimizations Using the Central Composite Method (중심합성법에 의한 구조최적화에서 회귀함수변화의 영향)

  • In this paper, the effect of various regression models is investigated on structural optimization using the central composite method. Three bar truss and the upper platform of a satellite are optimized using various regression models that are polynomial, exponential and log functions. Response surface method is non-gradient, semi-global, discrete and fast converging in optimization problem. Sampling points are extracted by the design of experiments using the central composite method. Response surface is generated using the various regression functions. Structural analysis for calculating constraints is executed to find static and dynamic responses. From this study, it is verified that the response surface method has advantage in optimum value and computation time in comparison to other optimization methods.

  • Following two pioneering works, Medoff and Abraham(QJE 1980; JHR 1981) and Flabbi and Ichino(LE 2001) which use performance rating of personnel data as individual worker's productivity, this study replicates their analysis using a Korean large firm's personnel data(2000, male white collar workers). According to their methods through Mincerian earnings function, and multinomial logit model that links the distribution of wages and performance ratings, we find that seniority wages appeare continuously even if individual worker's productivity is controlled. Therefore we conclude that incentive or deferred compensation theory is more suitable than human capital theory.

Parameter estimation of linear function using VUS and HUM maximization (VUS와 HUM 최적화를 이용한 선형함수의 모수추정)

  • Consider the risk score which is a function of a linear score for the classification models. The AUC optimization method can be applied to estimate the coefficients of linear score. These estimates obtained by this AUC approach method are shown to be better than the maximum likelihood estimators using logistic models under the general situation which does not fit the logistic assumptions. In this work, the VUS and HUM approach methods are suggested by extending AUC approach method for more realistic discrimination and prediction worlds. Some simulation results are obtained with both various distributions of thresholds and three kinds of link functions such as logit, complementary log-log and modified logit functions. It is found that coefficient prediction results by using the VUS and HUM approach methods for multiple categorical classification are equivalent to or better than those by using logistic models with some link functions.

양방향 분포 함수가 적용된 달의 3D 광학 모델

  • 달의 양방향 분포 함수는 Hapke에 의하여 처음 이론적 모델이 만들어졌고, 이후 Foote에 의해 아폴로 11호의 달 토양 샘플 10084의 양방향 분포 함수가 측정된 바 있다. 이 연구에서는 실제 크기의 달의 표면에 Hapke의 양방향 분포 함수를 적용하여 광학 모델은 개발하였다. 달 표면의 산란특성 중 반 무한하고 매끄러운 지면에 적용되는 후방산란 효과와 산란각에 따른 위상 함수가 적용된 모델이 사용되었으며, 위상함수로는 Henyey-Greenstein 함수가 사용되었다. 달의 3D 모델에 사용된 매개 변수는 Foote가 측정한 Hapke의 변수를 따랐으며 달의 단일 산란 알베도는 w=0.33, 핫스팟의 넓이는 h=0.017, Legendre 다항 계수인 b와 c에는 각각 b=0.308, c=0.425의 값이 사용되었다. 구성된 달의 양방향 분포 함수를 이용한 통합적 광선 추적 수치 모사 결과, 달 반사광의 복사 휘도율은 1차 근사 해석적 방법을 이용한 계산 결과의 복사 휘도율과 측정 오차 범위 이내의 오차를 보였다.

Estimation of the number of discontinuity points based on likelihood (가능도함수를 이용한 불연속점 수의 추정)

  • In the case that the regression function has a discontinuity point in generalized linear model, Huh (2009) estimated the location and jump size using the log-likelihood weighted the one-sided kernel function. In this paper, we consider estimation of the unknown number of the discontinuity points in the regression function. The proposed algorithm is based on testing of the existence of a discontinuity point coming from the asymptotic distribution of the estimated jump size described in Huh (2009). The finite sample performance is illustrated by simulated example.
