Receiving Channel Calibration of Multi-Channel Integrated Receiver for Monopulse Radar (모노펄스 레이다용 다채널 집적 수신기의 수신 채널 보정)

  • The effect of inter-channel coupling in multi-channel monopulse receiver is expected to increase by miniaturization trend of receiver. Therefore, in this paper, calibration method is proposed to compensation for inter-channel coupling in receiver of monopulse radar. And it can prevent distortion of angle information of target. Hardware configuration that consists of switch, directional coupler, matched load, ADC(Analog to Digital Converter), signal source of calibration is proposed to calibration. Total nine scattering parameters are obtained by controlling the switch and signal source of calibration. After that, method for restoring the undistorted signal is proposed using the mathematical relationship between the monopulse signal output from the antenna and the monopulse signal passing through the multi-channel receiver in the presence of inter-channel coupling.

  • According to the advancement of the GNSS satellite positioning system, the module of hardware and operation software reflecting accuracy and economical efficiency is implemented in the user sector including the multi-channel GNSS receiver, the multi-frequency external antenna and the mobile app (App) base public positioning analysis software etc., and the multichannel GNSS RTK positioning of the active configuration method (DIY, Do it yourself) is possible according to the purpose of user. Especially, as the infrastructure of multi-GNSS satellite is expanded and the potential of expansion of utilization according to various modules is highlighted, interest in the utilization of multi-channel low-cost GNSS receiver module is gradually increasing. The purpose of this study is to review the multi-channel low-cost GNSS receivers that are appearing in the mass market in various forms and to analyze the utilization plan of the "address information facility investigation project" of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security by constructing the multi-channel low-cost GNSS positioning module based RTK survey system (hereinafter referred to as "multi-channel GNSS RTK module positioning system"). For this purpose, we constructed a low-cost "multi-channel GNSS RTK module positioning system" by combining related modules such as U-blox's F9P chipset, antenna, Ntrip transmission of GNSS observation data and RTK positioning analysis app through smartphone. Kinematic positioning was performed for circular trajectories, and static positioning was performed for address information facilities. The results of comparative analysis with the Static positioning performance of the geodetic receivers were obtained with 5 fixed points in the experimental site, and the good static surveying performance was obtained with the standard deviation of average ±1.2cm. In addition, the results of the test point for the outline of the circular structure in the orthogonal image composed of the drone image analysis and the Kinematic positioning trajectory of the low cost RTK GNSS receiver showed that the trajectory was very close to the standard deviation of average ±2.5cm. Especially, as a result of applying it to address information facilities, it was possible to verify the utility of spatial information construction at low cost compared to expensive commercial geodetic receivers, so it is expected that various utilization of "multi-channel GNSS RTK module positioning system"

  • Blind channel estimation of communication channels is a problem of important current theoretical concerns. Recently proposed solutions for this problem exploit the diversity induced by antenna array or time oversampling, leading to the so-called, second order statistics techniques. This paper proposes the blind adaptive channel estimation using multichannel linear prediction method. Computer simulations are presented to compare the proposed algorithm with the existing ones.

  • The trend for the development of radar is the active phased-array radar system. The trade-off between the processing speed and the number of the signal process board for the real time signal processing has to be optimized particularly in multichannel radar system. This paper introduces a transmission technique in order to transmit a large amount of received data from an Antenna Part to Signal Process Part. As a result, the number of the S/L board(COTS board) is reduced to one half, and the margin of the data transmission rate is about 2 times higher than the original method.

  • In this paper, we designed a 24.4GHz 2-channel TX and 4-channel RX patch array antenna mounted on a short-range vehicle radar system to simultaneously measure the range and speed of a single object within a single measurement cycle. The antenna was designed and fabricated using Rogers' RO4350B(εr=3.48, 0.5T) board. Through measurement, it was confirmed that the design specifications of antenna gain (> 10dBi or more) and radiation pattern (Elevation HPBW > 10deg.) were satisfied at 24.4 GHz frequency.

  • In this paper, a channel estimation based on the time-domain windowing and its imperfectness in OFDM-based multiple-antenna transmission systems are analyzed with an emphasis on a preamble design for multi-channel separation, From the computer simulation results, the OFDM-CDMA system applying a space-time-frequency diversity with a full-rate full diversity code can give the diversity of D = 4 and D = 8 for both multi-user cases of maximum user and half user capacities, respectively

  • As drone technology advances, the risks of drones are increasing, then technology to detect drones is becoming important. In this thesis, it was verified that miniaturized and lightweighted active array antenna could be used for radar system to detect drones in reality. The transmit-receive module was designed in the form of tile-type to simplify interconnections between devices. The waveform generation module and the down conversion module were miniaturized to include in one body too. As a result of verifing the detection performance through test, it was confirmed that the detection range was over 3.7Km.

  • This paper proposes an area-efficient pipeline FFT processor for MIMO-OFDM systems with four transmitting and four receiving antennas. Since the MIMO-OFDM system transmits multiple data streams, the complexity for the MIMO-OFDM system with a single-channel FFT processor increases linearly with the increase of the number of transmit channels. The proposed FFT processor is based on multi-channel structure, and therefore it can efficiently support multiple data streams. With the mixed radix algorithm, the number of non-trivial multiplications of the proposed FFT processor is decreased. The proposed FFT processor is synthesized with CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ process and reduces the logic gates by 25% over a 4-channel Radix-4 multi-path delay commutator (R4MDC) FFT processor. Since the MIMO-OFDM FFT processor is one of the largest modules in the systems, the proposed FFT processor will be a vast contribution improvement to the low complexity design of MIMO-OFDM systems.

  • 차세대 유럽형 디지털 지상파 TV 표준인 DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting; a 2nd Generation Terrestrial)는 아날로그 TV시대의 끝을 알리는 ASO(Analogue Switch Off)에 의해 새롭게 확보될 방송 주파수를 통해 다채널 HDTV 서비스와 다양한 데이터 서비스를 제공해줄 것으로 예상된다. DVB-T2는 DVB-T에 비해 전송효율을 30% 이상 향상시켰으며 기존 송신 인프라와 수신안테나를 그대로 사용할 수 있어 상업화 조건을 고루 갖추고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 본고에서는 이러한 DVB-T2 End-to-End 체인 참조모델을 간략히 소개하고 송신기술에 대해 개괄적으로 설명한다.

  • In adaptive antenna, recently Gooch suggested a new adaptive system using equation error method, but the system demands inverse model about the pole part and thus does not guarantee stability. In this paper, algorithm is proposed that has a basis on Popov's extra-stability theory. And system is developed of output error method. In addition, the result obtained by applying proposed algorithm to system of output error method is compared with that of Gooch model.
