  • These days, as dynamic function and special properties to compare traditional material, $Al_20_3$ ceramic use all over the industry. But it is very difficult to process because of high hardness and brittleness. Therefore, in this paper, it was investigated that laser process parameter which can produce appropriate quality of $Al_20_3$ ceramic microhole machining.

  • The propagation properties of the high speed pulse signal in time domain using the equivalent circuits for the analysis by SPICE on the coupled microstrip lines are investigated. In this paper, the SPICE program is used for the crosstalk analysis on the coupled microstrip lines. The results of crosstalk of coupled microstrip lines compared to one by Branin and FDTD method. And the near-end and far-end crosstalk on coupled lines are analyzed for the square pulse and trapezoidal pulse. The results of this paper are apply To the determination for the geometric structure and the frequency of signal pulse in design of MIC and MMIC by the CAD program.

  • UWB communication applications is a recent innovation due to high transmission rate and low power emission. There, we analyzed monopulse's characteristics and simulated the performance for various UWB communication applications. we introduced Time-Hopping method and simulated for MAI removal in multi-user communication.

  • 수중환경에서 표적의 탐지 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 능동 소나에서는 높은 시간-대역폭곱의 파형들을 사용하며 대표적인 것으로 LFM 펄스를 들 수 있다 LFM 펄스를 사용하여 표적까지의 거리와 표적의 속도를 추정하는 방법으로는 모호함수를 사용하는 방법과 deconvolution 방법 및 FR-기반 기법 등이 있다. 이러한 기법중 모호함수 사용 방법과 deconvolution 방법은 능동 소나의 운용 주파수 대역에서 많은 연산량이 요구되므로 실제 시스템에 적용하기에는 제약을 받는다. 그리고 다른 기법에 비해 적은 연산량을 가지는 FFT-기반 상관관계 기법은 실제 시스템에 적용이 가능하지만 다중경로에 의한 성능 저하를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 적은 연산량을 가지는 FFT-기반 기법을 보완하여 다중경로에 적용 가능한 새로운 탐지기를 제안한다.

Propagation Factor Based Elevation Estimation Algorithm Selection Method in Multipath Situation (다중경로 상황에서의 전파 인자 기반 고각 추정 알고리즘 선택기법)

  • This paper presents a method to overcome the problem of increasing elevation estimation error when estimating elevation in a multipath situation with radar. A multipath situation means that radar reception signals reflected from the same target come from multiple paths. In non-multipath, the monopulse method is accurate. For the opposite case, the least square error method is accurate. In multipath situation and when the elevation angle is very low, a singular occurs where the least square error estimate diverges. This singular was identified based on the propagation factor, and monopulse and least square error estimation methods were selectively used. As a result, we succeeded in increasing the accuracy of elevation estimation. MATLAB simulations were performed to verify the method proposed in this paper.

Developement of Radiation Measuring System using Wireless Communication (무선통신을 이용한 방사선측정 시스템 개발)

  • Radiation measuring system using wireless communication method with single channel has been diveloped and tested. In this system, radiation signals from GM tube are transformed into digital pulses in pulse processing circuit and modulated in FSK (frequency shift keying) circuit for digital communication and then wirelessly transmitted to a receiving unit. The digital pulses received are then demodulated in FSK circuit and converted into radiation dose/dose rate in the data acquisition unit to display on the screen of a personal computer. The performance of this system was evaluated by using both a pulse generator and a standard radiation source(Cs-137). In both cases, digital pulses with 5V were observed in pulse processing circuit without distortion of their shape through wireless communication system. The experimental results of radiation measurement by this system after several test-irradiation of GM detector to a standard radiation source(Cs-137), showed good agreement with irradiation dose rate within 10% difference, and proved that this system could be effectively utillized as radiation measuring instrument. It is expected that this wireless radiation measuring system developed for the first time in Korea, can be used as a radiation monitor as well as a personal dosimeter if we can further improve this system to adopt wireless multichannel communication system.

  • In decades, active sonar, which transmits signals and detects incident signals reflected by underwater targets, has been significantly studied since passive sonar in Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) detection performance becomes lowered, as underwater threats become their radiated noise reduced. In general, active sonar using Hull-Mounted Sonar (HMS) adjusts vertical tilt (depression) and sequentially transmits multiple Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) subpulses which have non-overlapped bands, i. e. 1 kHz ~ 2 kHz, 2 kHz ~ 3 kHz, in order to reduce shadow zones. Recently, however, Generalized SFM (GSFM), which is generalized form of SFM, is proposed, and it is confirmed that subpulses of GSFM have orthogonality among each other depending on setting of GSFM parameters. Hence, in this paper, we applied GSFM to active target detection using HMS to improve the performance by the signal processing gain obtained from enlarged bandwidths of GSFM subpulses compared to those of LFM subpulses. Through simulation, we verified that when the number of subpulses is three, the matched filter gain of GSFM is approximately 5 dB higher than that of LFM.

  • 본 논문은 고전압 양극성 펄스 모듈레이터에 대해 소개한다. 모듈레이터는 충전을 위한 공진형 컨버터와 고전압 펄스를 생성하기 위한 12개의 파워셀로 구성된다. 12개의 파워셀은 다중 권선 변압기를 통해 모든 셀이 병렬로 충전되며, 방전 시에는 모든 셀이 직렬로 연결되어 고전압을 생성한다. 12개의 파워셀을 구성하는 48개의 스위치에 절연된 전력과 신호를 동시에 공급하기 위해, 2개의 고전압 케이블로 구성된 양극성 컨트롤 루프가 설계되었다. 최종적으로 10kV, 100A, 3kHz 사양을 갖는 양극성 펄스 모듈레이터가 구현되었으며, 저항부하 및 리액터 부하조건에서 테스트 되었다. 실험결과를 통해 제안하는 양극성 펄스 모듈레이터의 신뢰성이 검증되었다.

  • 이 논문은 시간도약 다중접속(time hopping multiple access: THMA) 초광대역(ultra wideband: UWB) 시스템에서 Modified Hermite Polynomial(MHP)을 기저펄스로 사용하는 M진 고속전송 기법을 제안하고, 시스템의 성능을 분석한다. MHP 펄스 차수들의 상호간 직교성을 이용하여 서로 다른 차수의 MHP 기저펄스 N개를 선형결합하여 M진으로 전송한다. MHP 기저펄스의 상호상관 함수를 구하여 제안하는 M진 시스템의 이론적인 성능을 분석하고, 모의실험을 통해서 기존의 M진 전송에 비해서 시스템의 비트오류확률(bit error rate: BER)이 개선됨을 보인다.

  • In this paper, we made an analysis of the effective optical pulse stream generation. This is different from conventional approaches, which use fiber or waveguide delay line circuits. The optical pulse multiplication phenomenon occurs when the optical pulse's spectral width is greater than the transfer bandwidth of the coupler used. Therefore, the effective optical pulse stream generation can be controlled by using fiber couplers with different equivalent transfer bandwidths. The pulse separation spacing is controlled by number of cascaded coupler in optical loop mirror coupler scheme.
