Adaptive Resource Allocation Algorithm with GTD in Downlink MU-MIMO Channel (다중 사용자 다중 안테나 하향링크 채널에서 GTD 기반의 적응적인 자원 할당 기법)

  • We propose an adaptive resource allocation algorithm with generalized triangular decomposition scheme in downlink multi-user multiple-input-multiple-output channel to maximize the system throughput when we adopt the modulation scheme such as BPSK, QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM. The proposed scheme also considers an bit-error-rate performance as well as system throughput while performing resource allocation. We present simulation results to show that the proposed scheme achieves the system throughput up to 2bit difference by capacity and has better BER performance than SVD based resource allocation scheme in all SNR regions.

Optimization of the Number of Active Antennas for Energy-Efficiency in the MIMO Broadcast Channel (다중 사용자 다중 안테나 하향링크 채널에서 에너지 효율 향상을 위한 기지국 활성 안테나 수 최적화 기법)

  • We introduce a number of antenna optimization problem for the zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) scheme to enhance energy-efficiency (EE) of the multiple-input-multiple-output broadcast channel. For proposed optimization problem, we assume an instantaneous channel gain of the ZFBF scheme as an average channel gain, given by $N_a-K+1$, in order to reduce a computational complexity of finding the number of active antennas $N_a$. Then, we convert a fractional-form objective function into a subtractive-form, and find a solution of $N_a$ and the maximum EE by an iterative process. Simulation results show that the maximum EE value obtained by proposed algorithm is almost identical to the optimal EE value by the exhaustive search method.

Design on the Interference Alignment Transceiver for Multi-Cell MIMO Downlink Channels (다중 셀 다중 안테나 하향링크 채널에서의 간섭 정렬 송수신기 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel interference alignment transceiver for multi-cell MIMO downlink channels with arbitrary number of cells and users per cell. We design the receive beamformer to align the interference from undesired base stations to the effective inter-cell interference (ICI) channels. Subsequently, we design the transmit precoder which can nulllify the interference from the corresponding base station. The proposed transceiver design can attain the degrees of freedom (DOF) equal to the number of streams per user. Accordingly, we investigate conditions for the antenna configuration. From numerical results, we confirm that the proposed transceiver design can achieve higher DOF than the conventional scheme under equal antenna configuration.

  • 본 논문에서는 실제적인 다중 셀 하향링크 네트워크 중 하나인 간섭 브로드캐스트 채널에서 유망한 간섭 정렬 기술인 반복적 간섭 정렬 기술을 소개한다. 또한, 가정하는 네트워크에서 상향링크/하향링크 채널 사이의 채널 상호성을 활용함으로써 다중안테나(MIMO: multiple-input multiple-output) 다중셀 하향링크 네트워크를 위한 개선된 반복적 간섭 정렬 기술을 제안한다. 구체적으로, 제안한 기술은 다중사용자 MIMO 기반 반복적 간섭 정렬 알고리즘을 설계하기 위해 반복적 빔형성과 하향링크 간섭 정렬 이슈를 지능적으로 결합한다. 각 기지국에서는 전처리기를 설계하기 위해 두 개의 순차적인 빔형성 행렬을 사용하는데, 이는 간섭 누수로 불리는 타 셀 기지국으로부터 생성된 셀 간 간섭을 효율적으로 줄일 뿐만 아니라 같은 셀 안에서의 셀 내 간섭을 완벽히 제거가 가능하다. 송신 및 수신 빔형성 행렬은 수렴할 때까지 반복적으로 업데이트된다. 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 제안하는 간섭 정렬 기술이 기존 두 가지 반복적 간섭 정렬 기술과 비교하여 더 높은 합 용량을 나타냄을 보인다.

  • Under the maximum transmit power constraint and the minimum rate constraint, we propose the optimal number of transmit antennas and transmit power which maximize energy-efficiency (EE) in multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink system with the maximal ratio transmission (MRT) precoding. Because the optimization problem for the instantaneous channel is difficult to solve, we use independence of individual channel, average channel gain and path loss to approximate the objective function. Since the approximated EE optimization problem is two-dimensional search problem, we find the optimal number of transmit antennas and transmit power using Lagrange multipliers and our proposed algorithm. Simulation results show that the number of transmit antennas and power obtained by proposed algorithm are almost identical to the value by the exhaustive search.

  • 차세대 양방향데이터방송 (BIFS: BInary Format for Scenes) 서비스에서는 하향링크(downlink) 데이터 전송률에 상응하는 높은 상향링크(uplink) 데이터 전송률이 요구되고 있다. 이에 무선 전송 채널의 한정된 자원 환경 속에서 상향링크 전송용량 증대를 위한 주파수 효율성 제고 기술의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 차세대 양방향데이터방송을 위한 다중 모바일(mobile) 사용자의 클러스터(cluster) 기반 상향링크 협동 다이버시티(cooperative diversity) 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 하나의 단일 안테나(single antenna) 방송 기지국과 다수의 단일 안테나 모바일 사용자가 있는 상향링크 시분할다중접속 (TDMA: Time Division Multiple Access) 시스템에서 데이터 지연허용(delay-tolerant)에 따라 클러스터를 구성하고 제곱 다이버시티 차수(square diversity order)의 협동 프로토콜(cooperative protocol)을 통해 높은 공간다이버시티 이득(spatial diversity gain)을 얻는다. 또한, 비대칭(asymmetric) 무선 채널 환경에서 공정성(fairness)을 보장한다.

  • We propose an optimal number of transmit antennas which maximizes energy-efficiency (EE) in multi-user massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink system with the maximal ratio transmission (MRT) precoding. With full channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT), we find a closed form solution by partial differential function with proper approximations using average channel gain, independence of individual channels, and average path loss. With limited feedback, we get a solution numerically by the bisection with approximations in the same manner, and analyze an effect of feedback bits on the optimal number of transmit antennas. Simulation results show that the optimal numbers of transmit antenna getting from proposed closed form solution and exhaustive search are nearly same.

  • Applying channel state information feedback scheme based on codebook for FDD downlink MIMO system to massive MIMO system directly causes following two problems. First, codebook generation becomes hard because resources needed for codebook generation increases exponentially in the number of antennas. In addition, long time is needed for channel state information feedback because users's codebook search time increases linearly in the number of antennas. This paper proposes a codebook generation scheme and a codebook search scheme which can reduce resource for codebook generation and codebook search time drastically though they have similar performance as conventional approaches.

  • In this paper, we propose a new MLP based detector which has low circuit complexity and fast adaptation capability for CDMA downlink in frequency selective fading, and is easy for parameter optimization. The simplified structure of the proposed MLP is designed by making use of transmission characteristics of downlinks such that all users signals transmitted over same propagation paths and the number of channelization codes are limited. Significant performance improvement over Rake receiver can be obtained with the proposed MLP and the efficiency of the proposed MLP was compared with that of conventional MLP.

  • In this paper, we investigate a minimum mean-squared error based nonlinear successive precoding method as a practical solution of dirty paper coding for multiuser downlink channels where each user has more than one antenna in the presence of other cell interference (OCI). Unlike conventional zero-forcing (ZF) based methods, the proposed scheme takes the OCI plus noise into account when suppressing the inter-cell multiuser interference, which results in improvement of the received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional methods in terms of sum rate for various OCI configurations.
