  • Compared to the MIMO system using the spatial multiplexing methods and the MIMO system using the diversity scheme achieved a high rate, but the lower the diversity gain to improve the data transmission reliability should separate the spatial stream at the MIMO receiver. In this paper, we compared Channel capacity detection methods with the Lattice code, the 3-user interference channel and linear channel interference detection methods ZF (Zero Forcing) and MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) detection methods. The channel is a Diagonal channel. In other words, Diagonal channel is confirmed by the inverse matrix satisfies the properties of Jacket are element-wise inverse to $[H]_N[H]_N^{-1}=[I]_N$.

  • In a frequency selective fading channel, Pre-Rake diversity technique provides simple receiver structure and sufficient diversity effect for mobile terminals. However, conventional Pre-Rake systems are more severely affected than Rake systems with regard to multiple access interference since the number of multipaths received at the mobile unit is nearly twice that of the Rake systems. In order to overcome the problem, a Pre-Rake TDD-CDMA system using zero correlation duration (ZCD) spreading code is proposed. Modified ZCD codes including guard interval (GI) is also proposed and the performance is evaluated by computer simulation under the condition of various channel environment.

  • In this paper, we present a new beamforming scheme for a downlink of multiuser multiple-input multipleoutput (MIMO) communication systems. Recently, a block-diagonalization (BD) algorithm has been proposed for the multiuser MIMO downlink where both a base station and each user have multiple antennas. However, the BD algorithm is not efficient when the number of supported streams per user is smaller than that of receive antennas. Since the BD method utilizes the space based on the channel matrix without considering the receive combining, the degree of freedom for beamforming cannot be fully exploited at the transmitter. In this paper, we optimize the receive beamforming vector under a zero forcing (ZF) constraint, where all inter-user interference is driven to zero. We propose an efficient algorithm to find the optimum receive vector by an iterative procedure. The proposed algorithm requires two phase values feedforward information for the receive combining vector. Also, we present another algorithm which needs only one phase value by using a decomposition of the complex general unitary matrix. Simulation results show that the proposed beamforming scheme outperforms the conventional BD algorithm in terms of error probability and obtains the diversity enhancement by utilizing the degree of freedom at the base station.

  • In this paper, it is analyzed that the error performance of a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system in a single cell with multipath Rician fading and multiple access interference (MAI) and the error performance of the system is compared with that of a Sing1e-Carrier DS-CDMA system. Moreover, the convolutional coding techniques with code rate of 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 are adopted in order to improve the error performance degraded by the multipath fading and MAI and performance improvement through the coding techniques is analyzed. As a result, it is shown that the number of users in each system can be determined by the number of branches of the rake receiver in a Single-Carrier DS-CDMA system and the number of carriers in a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system. Furthermore, the convolutional coding should be chosen with considering the trade-off between coding gain and a power limitation in a Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA system. In case of increasing the number of carriers, the processing gain is decreased but the error performance is improved through the effect of frequency diversity and the system can be possibility implemented due to the low chip rate.

  • In this paper, a joint PHY-MAC layer optimized resource allocation scheme for OFDMA based micro base stations is investigated. We propose cross-layer optimized two-stage resource allocation scheme including cross-layer functional description and control information flow between PHY-MAC layers. The proposed two-stage resource allocation scheme consists of a user grouping stage and a resource allocation stage. In the user grouping stage, users are divided into a macro base station user group and a micro base station user group based on the PHY-MAC layer characteristics of each user. In the resource allocation stage, a scheduling scheme and an allotment of resources are determined. In the proposed scheme, diversity and adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) schemes are exploited as schedulers. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme increases the average cell throughput about 40~80 % compared to the conventional system without micro base stations.

In this paper, pilot symbol structure was proposed to estimate chann디 paramenters for MC-CDMA system and we analyzed the perfoemance of proposed MC-CDMA which compensates the received signals using the pilot symbols for link transmission. At first, we proposed the new method of pilot's usage for reverse link transmission that can distinguish accessing users whose signals undergo diggerent channels. And we analyzed the performance of coherent MC-CDMA reception using estimated channel parameters

  • A new diversity technique is proposed for multi-user single-input single-output (SISO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) uplink system. Each user transmit a symbol using frequency band of all users that are active in the uplink. In addition, a receiver detect each signal using maximum likelihood (ML) method. Simulation results show that the proposed technique improves a diversity order without an additional bandwidth and a loss of data rate.
