Painting and Photography have been developed by exchanging the influence mutually as a new expressive form of art, and the medium and the genre in terms of formal experiments. Variety of artistic fields such as theater, film, art, photography, literature, dance, music abuse the idea of Interdisciplinary Art in the name of art via digital process based hybrid media arts.

As the sound art field is keep growing and expanding, we shall contemplate from the sociology of the arts and cognitive science point of views to wisely accept and properly appreciate various artistic works and practices. It is because the value evaluation of new arts shall substantially involve analysis and inspections with considerations of today's complex environments, the creative productions, and the consumptions; because, such critiques are necessity for the advancement of new arts. This paper briefly introduces reasoning of including sociological analysis and criticism in evaluating sound arts beyond dichotomy of the fine arts and music fields. It also looks into changes and conditions of cultural arts grants and allowances of the interdisciplinary art genre in South Korea as it has been almost alone a playground for its domestic creative practices of the sound art. This paper is written in a hope to suggest some possible directions for future developments of these contemporary borderless and/or experimental arts.

The goal of the study is to provide a new type of audio-visualization method through case analysis and work production based on Polysomnography(PSG) data that is difficult to interpret or not familiar to the public. Most art works are produced with conscious actions during waking hours. On the other hand, during sleep, we get into the world of unconsciousness. Therefore, through the experiment, want to discover if could get something new when we were in the subconscious state, and if so, wondered what kind of art could be made through it. The study method is to consider definition of sleep and sleep data first. The sleep data were classified into normal group and Narcolepsy, Insomnia, and sleep apnea by focusing on sleep disorder graphs that is measured by sleep polygraph. After that, I refined and converted the acquired biometric data into a text-based script. The degree of sleep in the text form of the script was rendered as a 3D animated image using Maya. In addition, the heart rate data script was transformed into a midi format, and the audition was implemented in the garage band. After Effects combines the image and sound to create four single channel images of 3 minutes and 20 seconds each. As a result of the research, I made an opportunity for anyone easy to understand the results, having difference with the normal data, through art instead of using difficult medical term. It also showed the possibility of artistic expression even when conscious actions did not occur. Through the results of this research, I expect the expansion and diversity of artistic audiovisual expression of biometric data.

최근의 급변하는 다원적이고 복합적인 문화의 흐름은 새로운 양식으로의 변화를 추구해 왔으며 기존의 조형예술의 개념, 가치 등에 대한 변모와 영역의 확장이 동반되고 있다. 이는 예술세계가 끊임없는 아이디어로 인간의 무한한 창조의지를 다양한 미적 의지로 보여지는 것을 가능하게 하였다. 이러한 다양화의 시도는 예술의 영역의 확대를 낳게 되었고, 패션도 현대예술 전반에서 일어나고 있는 소재나 기법을 공유하는 다양한 조형적 표현방법이 결합되어 영역의 확대와 소재의 한계를 벗어나게 되었다. (중략)

Sound Art retains heterogeneous and borderless inborn-characteristics on it. Despite it is a non-mainstream art which could not foster fertile soil to bring up many established artists yet, the domestic area is keep growing and expanding. And now it will soon be that time of overcoming the debates between the art world and the music world to widely embrace de-facto artworks and practices, and bringing more quality critiques. This article talks about a concise history of sound art by addressing some singularities and chronicle traces of it which may be helpful information to lead into more opened future discussion forums in the domestic sound art field.

This study has started from the political process of local community power structure to elaborate the reason why both a majority of cultural artists and cultural artist organizations want to be against establishing the local Foundation for Arts and Culture. The cultural artists and cultural artist organizations believe that the establishment of the local Foundation for Arts and Culture might threaten not only their monopolistic status or their livelihood in the local market relying on public supports, but also make them being marginalized from the potential supports. Therefore many of them have somewhat unfavourable opinions about its establishment. Drawing from the Jellabuk-do case, their concern of being isolated from the monopoly by the local Foundation for Arts and Culture are reduced to publicized discourses such as powerization, the lack of expertise, the loss of independence, and the fall of business. When constructing the Foundation for Arts and Culture, the major values are 'Pluralism' and 'Fairness'. On one hand, the terms of Fairness means that it should be fair in operations, support and executive composition. On the other hand, Pluralism means that policy-making rights should be distributed to various groups, not owned by some specific groups. Some plans for building Foundation for Arts and Culture are needed to make diverse classes and groups to expect the pluralistic interests emerged eventually.

This study empirically analyzes the factors that affect the people's enjoyment of pure culture and arts, especially art exhibitions. We use 56,588 sample data from the "The Survey of Cultural Enjoyment" collected by the Ministry of Cultrure, Sports and Tourism over the last 10 years and perform multiple regression and Multi-Way ANOVA to analyze the effect of individual's cultural experience on art exhibit visits. The results of the analysis show that the experience of participating in culture and arts events, culture and arts education, and participation in culture and arts clubs have a positive effect on the art exhibition visits. We also identify the positive interaction effects between the three independent variables. In other words, it was found that the average number of visits to art exhibitions was higher for groups who had experience of participating in culture and arts events, culture and arts education, and culture and arts clubs. This study provides a first empirical analysis on personal factors influencing art exhibition visits in Korea and lays the groundwork for future studies in developing a comprehensive predictive model for cultural art visits. In addition, we give policy implications and suggestions specifically, mid-term policies related to promoting art exhibition visits as an extension of individual's engagement with pure culture and arts through big data analysis.

21세기는 과학적 물질문명의 발달로 인하여, 과거에는 느껴보지 못했던 물질문명의 풍요를 이끌어 냈으며, 컴퓨터, 메스미디어의 발달로 인하여, 인간 문명의 관심은 지구계를 벗어나 우주론적으로 확장되어 마침내 우주시대를 열었다. 하지만 인간의 이성과 함께 영원하리라 믿었던 과학적 합리성은 20세기 초두에 제국주의적 전쟁을 일으키게 되었으며, 그로 말미암아 이성 파괴 현상이 드러나게 되었다. 급기야 20세기말에 이르러 다원주의라 칭하기도 하는 후기산업사회의 병적 증후군들, 국가간의 경제전쟁, 컴퓨터 및 각종 정보매체를 통한 신속한 정보교환의 이면에는 인간의 자기정체성의 혼돈을 아울러 초래하게 되었다. 과학기술의 발달로 생태계 및 환경은 오염되고 파괴되었다. 20세기말에는 산성비, 엘니뇨, 라니냐 현상으로 인하며, 환경의 재앙을 초래하면서 이제 인간은 문명에 대하여 여태껏 가져왔던 확고한 믿음에 회의를 갖게 된 것이다. 이와 같은 현상은 인간의 주체적 인식과 과학적 믿음의 지나친 숭배로 인하며 자연도 인간에 의하여 지배되고 인간을 위해서만 존재하는, 인간과 자연의 이원론적인 생각 즉, 인간의 이성에 의해서만 가능하다고 생각한 "근대적 주체"에 대한 맹신의 결과인 것이다. 이렇듯 20세기의 문제점은 21세기로 전가되어 여전히 계속되고 있으며, 세계내의 가장 큰 문제점은 전쟁, 기아 등 보다 이제는 오히려 환경. 생태문제로 귀결되어 지구의 생존권 자체가 위협을 받게 되었다. 미술도 서구문명의 근대주의적 영향에 의해서 모더니즘 등 이성위주의 미술인 "근대 주체적 미술"로 발전하였지만 포스터모더니즘에서 보여 지듯 이미 인간의 순수한 이성을 근간으로 한 미술에 있어서의 주체성 주장은 상당부분 무너졌으며, 이제는 장르의 해체와 다원화 현상으로 나아가게 되었다. 환경파괴에 직면하여 이제 주체는 자연이라는 타자를 새롭게 등장시킨다. 그리하여 생명중심주의, 전체론, 감각 중심주의 등 인간과 자연이 함께 공생하는 자연을 향한 생태적인 미술이 절실히 요구되는 것이다. 이에 본 연구논문은 무비판적 서구미술에 동요되지 않고, 지극히 자연적이고 동양적이기도 한 끊임없이 생명력을 창출해 내는 자연에 관심을 같게 되었으며, 환경의 중요성과 함께 생태학적 미술, 즉 생태미술에 본인의 작업을 관계시키고자 한다. 근대적 문명사에 의해 매장된 생태적 유기성의 흔적을 고고학적 탐사방법을 통하며 발굴해 내며, 환경윤리와 생태학, 심층 생태학, 북친의 '사회 생태학'을 수용하여 물질성의 생태적 복원과 함께 조형공간의 다원성에 대한 생태 미술의 일단을 규명코자 하였다.

발레에 대해 문외한인 사람들조차 그 선율은 들어봤을 정도로 <백조의 호수>는 유명한 작품이다. 차이콥스키의 서정적인 바이올린 선율은 매우 아름다원 신화의 'T.O.P'와 같은 대중음악에서도 샘플링 할 정도이다. 하지만 단지 음악만 아름다웠다면 이 음악을 듣고 사람들이 하얀색 튀튀(tutu)를 입은 발레리나의 모습을 떠올리진 않을 것이다. <백조의 호수>는 음악과 인체로 표현할 수 있는 아름다움의 극치를 보여주는 발레 작품이기 때문에 사람들의 뇌리에 깊이 각인된 것이다. 오늘날 클래식 발레가 환상적인 예술로 거듭날 수 있게 된 데에는 수많은 예술가의 노력과 함께 과학의 뒷받침이 있었기에 가능한 것이다. 인간의 한계를 초월하기 위해 스포츠 과학의 힘이 필요하듯 인체 예술의 극한을 보여주기 위해 발레에도 과학이 필요한 것이다.

Since the early 20th century photo based art and effort to creative experiment, to pursue the essence of creation to escape from stereotypes between form and media, expression and technology, has been continued persistently. Photomontage was born as an artistic attempt for the new representation. Basically photomontage is configured to visually emphasize the message as a work to produce new meaning by combining the various images that are intentionally selected. The photomontage as a visual art, dialectic of text and image that is to pursue a new format to be out the concept already existing, have been developed, the concept is similar to the modern multiple art. The value of photo montage is to explore of the photo, not limited to describe or reproduce as a deformation, the new possibilities for creative expression and the experience of the day-to-day operation for the implementation of the scheme.
