  • A family is presented in which multiple odontogenic keratocysts have been expressed. 3 members of the two generations of family with features of multiple keratocysts, suspected basal cell nevus syndrome have been investigated. The proband, 19-year-old woman and her mother, and her brother suffered from these cysts and two female patients' disease have been recurred multiply though careful treatments. Close attention to the family and routine follow up will alert the clinician to its recurrences and genetic counseling and serial screening for the development of other symptoms, that is malignant skin carcinoma etc.

  • High-quality double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWNTs) were synthesized without defects and amorphous carbonaceous particles by catalytic decomposition method at $800^{\circ}C$ in high yield. As-synthesized carbon materials almost consist of DWNT bundles with a diameter 12 - 20 nm.. The DWNTs rope have uniform diameter about 2 - 5 um and length up to several tens micrometer. DWNTs is inner tube diameter 0.9 - 1.5 nm and outer tube 1.6 - 2.2 nm. We investigate the crystallinity of DWNTs by TEM and Raman spectroscopy. We also found that the Fe-Mo bimetallic catalyst was active as a very efficient catalyst for the synthesis of DWNTs with the catalyst decomposition method. Our results also indicate that Tetra Hydro Furan (THF) is a very ideal carbon source for the synthesis of DWNTs.

  • Endosalpingiosis is a condition that causes the non-neoplastic proliferation of ectopic tubal epithelium. Florid cystic endosalpingiosis is an atypical subtype that is very rarely reported. It presents as a mass-like feature and therefore needs to be differentiated from tumorous conditions. Here, we report the imaging findings of a case of multicentric florid cystic endosalpingiosis in the extraperitoneal pelvic cavity and the retroperitoneal spaces.

  • Pleomorphic adenoma is also called a mixed tumor and it most commonly occurs in the salivary gland. This neoplasm has a low grade malignant potential, but it may also show aggressive clinical behavior like recurrence or metastasis. We report here on a case of a tumor that was confirmed to be primary pulmonary carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma by the pathologic examination after complete resection, and it had the characteristics of malignant neoplasms, such as multiple metastases.

  • A black kite (Milvus migrans) was referred to the Gyeongnam Wild Animal Rescue Center, Jinju, Korea, with a clinical history of lethargy. On physical examination, three hard, variable sized, round shaped masses were found in the carpal and digit region of the right wing. On plain radiographs, three various sized, round to oval shaped, bony opacity masses with smooth margin were identified on the major digit, alular digit, carpometacarpus. The bird was euthanized due to poor prognosis. A full necropsy was performed, and the histopathologic findings in the bird were consistent with multiple exostoses.

  • Tuberculosis is a common chronic infectious disease, although the spleen is an uncommon organ to harbor tubercle bacilli. Immunocompromised subjects are primarily prone to miliary tuberculosis and in them the spleen is invaded by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Spleen tuberculosis is manifested commonly as a miliary form. The basic pathology is granulomatous inflammation. The CT findings of splenic tuberculosis are multiple, well-defined, round or ovoid, low-density masses. Lymphadenopathy in the abdomen and mediastinum and pleural effusion can be found. We report two cases with tuberculosis of the spleen proved by computed tomography and histologic identification. One patient did not improve following antituberculous medication, so splenectomy was performed. The other patient has been treated with antituberculous medication.

  • An 8-month-old ostrich (Struthio camelus) which had shown lethargy died in 2-day clinical course. Gross necropsy revealed greenish gray mold grow on the wall of thickened air sacs and multiple tiny nodules on the liver. Microscopically, the granulomatous lesions of air sac membrane, lung, and liver contained numerous septate, branching fungal hyphae. The typical conidial heads of fungi were observed in inner membrane of inflammatry thickened air sacs. This case was a chronic and systemic mycotic air sacculitis and pneumonitis caused by Aspergillus fumigatus in a ostrich at a zoo.

  • The antiestrogen tamoxifen is currently the most commonly used adjuvant treatment of breast cancer with antiestrogenic effect on mammary tissue. However, it is also associated with endometrial abnormalities, including hyperplasia, polyps, carcinoma, mostly interpreted as evidence of estrogenic effect on the endometrium. Previously, tamoxifen-associated polyp in breast cancer has been reported in the literature. Most studies had a long follow-up period and tamoxifen-associated polyp developed more than 1 year after tamoxifen treatment. In this case, we report an unusual case of rapid growing and multiple endometrial polyps that were developed only after 3 months' tamoxifen treatment in a postmenopausal breast cancer patient who received quadrant mastectomy with a brief review of literature.
