미세조류를 이용한 낙동강하구 갯벌의 오염평가

  • 다대포 갯벌의 YP는 0.06~0.13 mg/L이었고 진우도의 TP는 0.06~0.11 mg/L로 조사시기별로는 두 조사지역간 차이는 없었고 TN은 다대포의 경우 1.44~2.87 mg/L, 진우도는 0.15~1.09 mg/L로 조사되어 매 조사시기마다 진우도보다는 다대포에서 월등히 높았으며 두 지역 모두 해역의 어염등급에 비추어볼 때 상당히 오염이 진행된 상태였다. 조사된 미세조류는 Navicula, Nitzschia, Cyclotella, Cymbella, Synedra 등 13속 26종류로 호청수성 조은 Achnanthes convergence 등 1속 2종류, 호오염성 종은 Nitzschia palea 등 5속 8종류, 광적응성 종은 Cymbella minuta 등 3속 5종류였으며 매 시기마다 우점을 보인 종은 Nitzschia, Navicula 였다. DAIpo 지수는 다대포의 경우, 평균 31.1 진우도는 평균 48.4로 조사되어 비교적 낮은 DAIpo 값을 보였지만 계절별로는 다대포와 진우도의 경우 모두 봄인 5월에 가장 높은 DAIpo 값으로 비슷한 경향을 보였으나 다대포의 경우에서는 매 계절마다 진우도보다 더 DAIpo값이 낮게 조사되었다. DAIpo 값으로부터 갯벌의 오염도를 판정하면 다대포는 $\alpha$-중부수성, 진우도는 $\beta$-중부수성에 해당하여 다대포의 경우가 진우도보다 더 오염이 심한 것으로 조사되었다.

  • 부산 다대포항 인근에 있는 해수욕장, 생태공원, 다기능 어항, 몰운대, 낙조분수 등의 해양 인프라를 활용하여 해양보호구역으로 지정된 개발가능 무인도서인 나무섬을 보전하고 활용하는 방법과 의의를 분석하였다. 특히 기존의 해양 인프라를 기반으로 하여 친수 네트워크를 구축함으로써 개별적 잠재력이 더욱 더 종합적으로 발전될 것이며 인간과 자연이 공존할 수 있는 근본적인 방법이 될 것이다.

A landform change of barrier islands around the Nakdong River Estuary (낙동강 하구의 연안사주 지형변화)

  • The Nakdong Delta can be identified by two different geomorphic units. The first one is the upper delta. This is mostly composed of inter-distributary islands that are largely influenced by fluvial processes and attributed to the development of these islands along the river. The other one is the lower delta which is mostly composed of beach ridges. Barrier islands are largely effected by wave processes promoted by the development almost at a right angle to the river. Influenced by the longshore current which flows to the same direction, barrier islands located in the Nakdong river estuary are developing from east to west direction. As a result, the eastern end of the barrier islands are growing toward the north-west direction effected by tidal current which moves toward the same direction. Barrier islands include the Sinho Island, the Jinwoo Island, the Daema deung, the Janga Island, the Baghap deung, the Sae deung, and the Chulsae deung(Doyeo deung). They have orderly emerged from the sea since 1861. Since 2008, a new Deung, a sand dune growing under sea, has been developing rapidly from Chulsae deung to the Dadaepo beach. It made the sailing of small fisher boats impossible. Tidal currents transported a lot of sand and silt around the barrier islands. The landscape of Nakdong river estuary where many barrier islands are distributed will change rapidly affecting land environment.

  • 부산은 자연적 지리적 인문적 조건은 물론 도시적 위상으로 볼 때, 한국 최고의 해양관광지임에 분명하다. 특히 다대포에서 송도와 남항 북항, 광안리, 동백섬, 해운대를 거쳐 미포와 청사포 그리고 송정, 일광에 이르기까지 부산의 해안선은 모두 강력한 배후도시의 인프라를 갖춘 상태이다. 때문에 도시의 첨단 활동과 바닷가에서 할 수 있는 다양한 레저활동이 어우러진 해양관광 1번지로 자리매김하고 있다. 하지만 이러한 외견적인 특성에도 불구하고, 보다 다양한 해양레저를 하기에는 여러 가지 측면에서 미흡한 것도 사실이다. 만일 해상, 해중에서 가능한 다양한 레저활동을 가능하게 해주는 각종 제반시설과 제도가 운영된다면 부산은 진정한 의미에서 입체적인 해양관광수도가 될 것이다. 이러한 맥락에서 부산에 존재하는 수십 개의 무인도서는 청정한 해양생태환경 속에서 해양레저활동을 향유할 수 있도록 해주는 천연의 자원이 된다.

Isolation and Characterization of Marine Microorganisms Producing Cellulase from the Seashore of the Kyungsang Province in Korea

  • Marine microorganisms to produce functional biopolymers were isolated from the seashore of the Kyungsang province. Microorganisms to hydrolyze carboxy-methyl cellulose(CMC) were cultured in marin broth and the other liquid medium that contained 2.0% (w/v) glucose, 0.25% yeast extract, 0.5% $K_2HPO_4$, 1% NaCl, 0.02% $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$ and 0.06% $(NH_4)_2SO_4$ to investigate the ability to produce carboxymethyl cellululase (CMCase) under aerobic conditions. Twelve microorganisms among them showed higher activities of CMCase than B. amyloliquefaciens DL-3, which was known as a cellulase-producing strain. The microorganism showing highest activity of CMCase in this study was identified as Bacillus subtilis subsp. subtilis with 16S rDNA partial sequencing and gyrase A partial sequencing and named as B. subtilis subsp. subtilis A-53.

  • Authors have investigated the monthly distribution of vibrio flora in sea water, mud, fish and shellfish in the public beaches at the suburbs of Busan in order to determine the possible origins of food poisoning. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The monthly distribution shows that V. parahaemolyticus occurs from May to November and V. alginelyticus all the year round. 2. A total of 40 strains of Vibrio flora were isolated from 40 sea water samples, 25 strains from 40 mud samples, If strains from 88 shellfish samples, and 3 strains from 30 fish samples. 3. More strains were isolated from the samples collected at Yongho and Suyeong that at the other localities. 4. A total of 80 strains of Vibrio flora, isolated from 198 samples, were divided into two groups : V. perahaemolyticus with 20 strains and V. alginelyticus 60 strains.

The Elevation of Paleo-shoreline and Formation Age of the 1st Marine Terrace in Dadaepo, Busan, South Korea (부산 다대포 지역 해안 단구 제1면의 구정선 고도와 형성 시기)

  • This study documents the level of paleo-shoreline and the timing of formation of the lowest marine terrace (1st terrace) distributed in Dadaepo, Busan, South Korea. In the study area, the elevation of paleo-shoreline of the 1st terrace is clearly identified as 5 meters above mean high tide based on the elevation of wave-cut platforms and the elevation of boundary between marine and terrestial sediments. This is well consistent with the fact that are found along the Southern coast of the Korean Peninsula including Daepo-dong, Sacheon-si. The timing of formation of the 1st terrace in Dadaepo is confirmed to have been deposited around 70,000~80,000 years BP (MIS 5a) according to OSL and IRSL dating ages. However, because the formation age of the 1st terrace in Sacheon-si Daepo-dong (Southerm coast) and Pohang-si Umok-ri (Eastern coast) previously identified as about 90,000~100,000 years BP (MIS 5c), further discussion of what is needed. Possibly, it can be interpreted that the sub-interglacial (MIS 5a and 5c) sea-level records during the last interglacial period are likely to be selective on land depending on regions.

Quality Changes in Minced Ginger Prepared with Frozen Ginger during Storage (냉동생강으로 제조한 다대기의 저장 중 품질변화)

  • As storing ginger roots under optimum conditions takes high cost, ginger roots are commonly stored in underground tunnels where the maintenance of optimum temperature and humidity is difficult. One of the methods fur long term storage of ginger roots is freezing. The objective of this research was to evaluate effect of storage temperatures and packaging methods on the quality of minced ginger prepared with frozen stored ginger. The minced ginger prepared with frozen stored ginger at $-20^{\circ}C$ was packed in bags, glass bottles and tubes, and then stored at 5 and $-20^{\circ}C$ for quality evaluation at 4 and 15 week-intervals. The changes of surface color, total free sugars, free amino acids and volatile compounds were less in the combined treatment samples than in control during storage, regardless of the storage temperature. The tube packing was the best for maintaining quality of minced ginger during storage among tested packaging methods. Sensory results showed that the minced ginger with the combined treatment and packed in tubes could be stored at 5 and $-20^{\circ}C$ for 12 and 45 weeks, respectively, without a significant drop in palatability.
