이 연구에서는 재난문자에서의 외국어 제공 현황에 대해 알아보았다. 우선, 뉴스를 분석한 결과, 외국인들은 국내 재난문자의 문제점으로 한국어라는 언어 제공 한정을 꼽았다. 다음으로, 미국은 WEA 규정에 따라 영어 외에 스페인어로 된 경고 메시지를 지원해야 하는 것으로 나타났다. WEA에서의 다국어 제공을 위한 다양한 노력도 하고 있었다. 마지막으로, 일본은 이동통신사 차원에서 다국어 재난문자를 지원하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. NTT DOCOMO는 외국인을 위해 일본어 재난문자를 영어, 중국어, 한국어로 번역해 주는 기능을 제공하고 있었다. KDDI도 NTT DOCOMO가 제공하는 언어 외에 포르투칼어, 스페인어도 제공하고 있었다.

교육의 국제화로 인해 국내 대학에 재학 중인 유학생의 수가 매년 증가하고 있다. 그러나 유학생들이 학습 자원을 얻기 위한 가장 큰 정보원인 대학도서관은 유학생들을 위한 다국어 지원 서비스를 충분히 제공하고 있지 않은 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대학도서관에서 제공하는 서비스 중 다국어 지원이 가능한 서비스 요인들을 선정하고 해당 요인들이 유학생들의 대학도서관 이용 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 선행연구를 바탕으로 사서/직원의 서비스(응답능력, 태도), 도서관 시설 이용(시설 안내, 장비 사용), 자료 접근 및 이용(홈페이지, 서가 배치), 이용자 서비스(이용자교육, 기타서비스)를 요인을 도출하였고 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 도서관 시설 이용이 대학도서관 이용 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었으며 사서/직원의 서비스와 이용자 서비스 또한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

HyREX는 연구용 프로토타입 XML 하이퍼미디어 문서 검색시스템으로 다국어를 지원하고 있다. HyREX는 검색을 위한 효율적인 접근 경로들을 처리하는 물리적 계층 HyPath와 질의어를 처리하는 논리적 계층 XIRQL 그리고 사용자 인터페이스인 HyGate 계층으로 이루어져 있다. 이 연구에서는 영어와 독일어 등의 검색을 지원하는 기존의 HyREX 시스템을 한글 XML 문서 검색시스템으로 확장하기 위해 먼저 한글 데이터타입을 위한 클래스를 구현하였다. 앞으로 한글 XML 문서 검색에서 정확율과 재현율을 향상하기 위해 각 문서의 인덱스에 대해 $tf{\cdot}idf$ 공식을 이용하여 가중치를 부여하고 이를 개발하고자 한다.

본 논문은 자연어 인터페이스에 기반한 관계형 데이터베이스 상에서의 질의 응답 시스템에 대해 기술한다. 본 시스템은 다국어, 다중 도메인, 다중 DBMS를 지원하는 시스템으로, 주로 오디오와 비디오 관련 제품들에 대한 정보를 다룬다. Lexico-semantic pattern (LSP) 문법을 관계형 데이터베이스 상에서의 질의 응답 시스템에 최초로 도입하여 기존의 시스템들에 비해 높은 성능을 보이며, linguistic front-end (LFE)와 database back-end (DBE)를 명확히 구분하고 각종 리소스들을 엔진과 분리함으로써 높은 이식성을 가지도록 한다.

블로그는 검색 서비스에 노출되는 주요 사용자 생성 콘텐트 중 하나이며 스팸과 SEO를 위한 주요 대상이 되어왔다. 최근에는 인터넷 보급의 보편화로 비영어권 국가에서의 블로그 사용자가 증가하면서 블로그 검색에서도 여러 언어로 작성된 블로그와 스팸이 노출되고 있다. 일반적인 블로그 검색엔진에서의 스팸 필터의 경우 특정 국가나 언어를 위한 스팸 필터 시스템을 각기 구성하여 이를 별도로 사용하지만이는 자원 소모의 문제와 함께 크롤을 통해 유입되는 다양한 언어로 작성된 블로그 스팸을 미리 감지하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 블로그를 크롤하여 서비스하는 국제화를 지원하는 블로그 검색엔진에서 스플로그를 탐지하기 위해 속성 및 단어 기반 자질들을 이용한 다국어 공용 스플로그 감지 모델을 생성 하는 방법과 효과를 확인하기 위해 실험을 수행하였으며 가능성이 있음을 확인하였다.

When a disaster occurs, effective alerts will reduce human life and property loss. The Integrated Emergency Alert System is a national disaster management system which integrates existing alert systems to deliver effective disaster alerts. Alert message exchange protocol is the essential technology for the System. In Korea, the first specification for "Common Alerting Protocol Profile for Integrated Emergency Alert System" was established in 2014. In this paper, we derive two additional requirements for more enhanced alert service and propose revision of the specification: multilingual alert service for foreigners and more flexible representation of target area. We review the associated foreign profile specifications as well as the domestic specifications to analyze these requirements. Finally, we propose the most efficient way to deliver multilingual alert message and to represent target area.

Web 2.0 and Semantic Web technology will be merged to be a next generation Web that leads presentation-oriented Web to data-centric Web. In the next generation Web, semantic processing, Web platform, and data fusion are most important technology factors. Among them, Cool URI used for data fusion can provide permanent and human readable URI and it has been already used in Blog system. However, Cool URI is not suitable to I18N environment such as Hangul and it is difficult to be adopted because several encodings are mingled in Korea Web society. In this paper, we discussed technology issues and Cool URI Web component to use Cool URI with Internationalized Resource Identifier (IRI). A proposed approach provides same function regardless of encoding type and supports both file system based and CGI based methods to be easily used from other applications. Results from several test environments show the implemented Web component satisfy the design purpose.

최근 한국어도비시스템즈(대표 이흥렬, www.adobe.co.kr)가 시장 공략을 위한 새로운 상품으로 Acrobat 6.0 출시를 공식 발표했다. Acrobat 6.0은 학국어도비사로서는 그야말로 야심찬 기획상품이다. 'Acrobat Reader를 아는 사람들이 Acrobat를 모른다' 라는 이흥렬 사장의 푸념을 잠재우기 위해 올 초 열린 기자간담회부터 누누이 강조해 오던 제품이다. 한국어도비사의 유저 가이드를 바탕으로 Acrobat 6.0의 새로운 기능 및 흥미로운 기능들을 정리해 보았다.

As the number of foreign tourists increases worldwide, it provides tourism services with various information and convenience. Most foreign tourists have difficulty using existing methods that require internet connection because internet communication is restrictive. In this paper, we propose a mobile device based digital signage via WPAN that can support multi-lingual for foreign tourists. the proposed method shows a menu by combining a template of mobile client with fundamental contents from digital signage through WPAN. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, it is compared with a conventional webpage method. The results of the evaluation confirm that the latency decreases compared to the conventional webpage method due to the improved loading time.
