  • Through a literature review, this study examined the concept of slow learners and the lifelong learning characteristics of slow learners, and sought ways to achieve successful lifelong learning by utilizing grit and growth mindset among non-cognitive characteristics. Slow learners were experiencing difficulties in cognitive, academic, linguistic, social and emotional, and behavioral characteristics. For successful lifelong learning of slow learners, it was necessary to set long-term goals rather than short-term goals and to maintain effort and consistency of interest to achieve the goals. In addition, it was confirmed that in order to achieve long-term goals, it is necessary to believe that change can be achieved through effort and learning. In other words, the need for learning using grit and growth mindset was confirmed. Based on these previous research results, it was presented as a lifelong learning strategy for slow learners that applied grit and growth mindset, which are non-cognitive characteristics, rather than cognitive characteristics such as intelligence.

  • SW education was conducted for slow youth learners. 6 learners participatd in 8 sessions of an introductory course using several plays and 3 learners who more interested in introductory course participated in deeper course using normal method. After education, we survey and interview from learners, instructors and heads of welfare organizations. Learners showed interest and participated in the fact that they were participating in SW education, which was widely talked about. Learners were found to be more satisfied with introductory course education using play such as board games, and although they initially appeared to participate in unfamiliar learning content with low efficacy, it was observed that their efficacy increased with repetition. Additionally, it was observed that young people with an IQ of 80 or higher had a higher level of interest or interest in SW education than those with an IQ of 80 or lower. we discussed that there were not many opportunities to directly use the SW education content for youth who are slow learners in work or real life. We suggest this should be a focus education on the use of digital media - online meeting apps, office SW etc.- to improve digital literacy for life and work and that research on this should continue.

  • The main purpose of this study was to analyze the general informatization situation of North Korean defectors and to study the characteristics and needs of the learners in order to provide the directions of information education for them. The results of the study showed the following characteristics of the North Korean defectors: They are slow learners due to the fear of new devices, have difficulty in learning due to the unfamiliar language of information and English, and indifferent when the situation is not related to themselves. Based on these learner characteristics and needs, this study suggests the strategies of step-by-step repetition, use of North and South Korean dictionary of the information terminology, apply job-centered and communication abilities, and suggested a four-element STEP model. Raising the level of informatization of North Korean defectors will help establish a successful settlement to South Korea. This will be a valuable foundation and a stepping stone for the future unification of Korea.

  • The goal of this research is to prove the efficiency of direct instruction by developing and applying an ICT teaching and learning course for physical education based on a direct instruction model. The curriculum for physical education requires the instructors example and feedback, and sometimes classes may be difficult to conduct due to reasons such as weather conditions. Also, in actual learning, the application of a learning model is inadequate. In these cases, using an ICT teaching and learning course, experts can show examples instead. The learners are provided with individual and suitable feedback and can make it practical for them by slowing down motions, sectional motion learning, and repetitive learning. It can also enhance the sharing of the instructors teaching and learning methods. Therefore, this research recomposed the commonly used direct teaching and learning methods in physical education in order to make it suitable for ICT utilized lessons. It was recomposed in a procedural model and each level was explicated, and in order to materialize this, an ICT teaching and learning course was developed. This was then applied to a Fifth grade class, and its learning effects were analyzed.

  • This study aimed to investigate speech motor control in adults who stutter (AWS) by testing whether articulation rate changes with practice and linguistic complexity. Eleven AWS and 11 adults who do not stutter (AWNS) repeated four sentences of different lengths and syntactic complexity [simple-short (SS), simple-long (SL), complex-long (CL), and faulty-long (FL) sentences]. Overall articulation rates of each sentence were measured and compared between groups. Practice effects were evaluated by comparing the articulation rates of the first three, middle four, and last three productions. Overall, the AWS had significantly slower articulation rates than AWNS across the four sentences. The longer sentences showed significantly slower articulation rates than the baseline sentence (SS). The articulation rates of the middle four and the last three productions were significantly faster than those of the first three productions of each sentence in both groups. The articulation rates of the SS, SL, and CL sentences indicated a consistent practice effect. The slower articulation rates of the AWS are consistent with a speech motor limitation. There was no interaction with linguistic complexity or practice, so a slower articulation rate may be a general feature of the speech of AWS. Both AWS and AWNS showed practice effects with faster articulation rates which may reflect a degree of adaptation to the stimuli.
