As Internet users increasingly consume news through the Internet, Internet portals face criticism that they are quickening the softening of public news and molding public opinions. Some portals have started to provide newscast services that directly connect the press, not grouping news sources on their own standards. This study aims to clarify how news grouping models and newscast models are different in terms of news softening and agenda setting. Specifically, authors conduct a content analysis on time-specific news content provided by top three portals-Naver, Daum, and Nate. By doing so, this study examines characteristics of news service models of Internet portals and their social and political implications. According to our study, the softening and tabloidization of portal news had not been improved even after adopting the newscast model. Therefore, portal journalism should be reorganized as a way to circulate healthy and qualified news content.

망을 통해 동일한 데이터를 다수의 고객에게 전송하는 파일 전송 서비스, 뉴스 서비스, 인터넷 방송 서비스들이 증가함에 따라 멀티캐스트를 이용한 효율적인 데이터 전송에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 신뢰적인 멀티캐스트 프로토콜을 송신자로부터 손실된 패킷을 복구하거나 이웃한 지역의 응답자에게 복구 패킷을 요청함으로써 손실 복구를 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 신뢰적 멀티캐스트를 제공하기 위해 손실이 발생하였을 경우 손실 회복에 사용할 수 있는 다중 응답자를 이용한 손실 복구 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법은 LSM[1] 모델을 기반으로, 다수의 요청 패킷에 대해 동적으로 응답자의 수를 증가시켜 다중 응답자들이 손실 복구를 수행하도록 함으로써 손실 복구 시간을 감소시킨다. 제안한 방식의 성능은 시뮬레이션을 통해 증명한다.

인터넷 방송은 “통신과 방송의 융합”이라는 시대의 한 흐름 속에서 주목을 받고 있다. 대화형, 개인화, 풍부한 채널자원 등의 특성을 갖는 인터넷 방송은 기존 방송매체와의 차별화를 통해 인터넷 TV, 교육방송 및 주식/뉴스 전달서비스 등의 관련 인터넷 응용서비스 산업의 발전을 주도하고 있다. 인터넷 방송서비스는 여러 수신자를 대상으로 하는 다자간 통신서비스임에도 불구하고, 현재 대부분의 인터넷 방송 전송시스템이 유니캐스트 방식에 의존하고 있다. 이는 네트워크에서의 대역폭 및 송신시스템 장비의 이용 측면에서 비효율적이며 동시 접속자 수 측면에서도 한계를 지닌다. 또한, 유니캐스트 트래픽의 중복 전송으로 인해 네트워크의 과부하 및 병목 현상을 유발할 수 있으며, 이로 인해 전체적인 서비스품질 저하를 초래하고 있다. 본 고에서는 인터넷 방송 전송기술의 효율성을 증진시키고 나아가 관련 산업경쟁력 강화를 위한 멀티캐스트 기술의 적용 방안에 대하여 논의하고, 이를 위해 세부적으로 요구되는 멀티캐스트 기술에 대하여 살펴본다.

Multicast is an efficient technology for internet video conference, internet live broadcast, data delivery and news services, and especially RMCP, which is a kind of overlay multicast, operates on network independently. It is considered to be deployed current internet network immediately. This paper describes various services using RMCP standard technology which is developed in ITU-T.

하나의 송신자가 동일한 데이터를 다수의 수신자들에게 전송하는 인터넷 방송 서비스, 파일 전송 서비스, 뉴스, 증권 서비스 등에 있어서 멀티캐스트는 효율적인 수단을 제공한다. 이러한 멀티캐스트의 효율성이 부각되면서 확장성 및 신뢰성을 보장하기 위한 다양한 프로토콜들이 제안되었다. 최근에는 망의 트리 구조를 알고 있는 라우터를 이용하여 지역 그룹내의 응답자(Replier)를 선정하여 손실된 패킷에 대한 재전송을 처리해 주는 방범에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이 경우, 지역 그룹내의 응답자는 망의 상태에 따라 임의적으로 선택되므로 멀티 캐스트 그룹내의 모든 수신자들은 응답자가 될 가능성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 모든 수신자들은 손실복구를 위한 버퍼를 가지며 수신한 패킷을 저장하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 지역 그룹내외 모든 수신자가 수신했을 패킷을 응답자의 버퍼에서 지우는 시점을 제안한다. 이 기법은 LSM[1] 모델을 기반으로, 지역 그룹을 대표하는 삭제자(Eraser)로부터의 ACK를 기반으로 응답자는 불필요한 패킷을 판단하고 버퍼에서 해당 패킷들을 비우게 된다.

This paper critically investigates the cultural phenomenon surrounding the news mobile phone app in which 'curation', relying on the news editing and adaption, has become much more significant than making the news directly. This study affirms the fact that a copying culture which is basically a combinative effect of duplication (alias) and imitation(mimesis) enables us enrich the human beings' creative activities. However, we need to warn the regressive aspects of copying culture challenging the journalistic principles. This study exemplifies a case of Pikicast, which has become the most rapid growing news content mobile app in Korea. By doing a case study, this paper suggests that 'social gift' should be given to the online users as a whole. The communal and social gift would be an alternative way to the unpaid crawling of the news resources from the digital commons by the news content curating corporation such as Pikicast.
