Types of Video Content for SMEs' Digital Marketing (중소기업 디지털 마케팅을 위한 영상 콘텐츠 유형 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the digital media strategies for small business branding. To understand the effective strategies for promoting small business through digital content marketing, we conducted in-depth interview with small business managers. The results of in-depth interview revealed that it is critical for small businesses to start creating and including video marketing as part of their entire content strategy. Especially, small business managers considered that video that provides rich media content can boost consumer engagement and increase the time spent on a branded contents. From a managerial perspective, this study provides guide on what small businesses should consider when developing and implementing digital strategies. For future research, this study provides the guide to investigate the effects of digital contents on the brand equity of small business.

New Paradigm Changes in Animation in the Era of Media Convergence (미디어 컨버전스 시대 애니메이션의 새로운 패러다임 변화)

  • Recently, the animation market requires a new consumption form of animation contents that can meet the trend and environment of a new era. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to seek new changes in paradigm by analyzing the animation examples from media to media in order to confirm in which form animation genres are changed in the ers of media convergence. The finding shows that the paradigm changes in animation are essentially caused by the development of internet communication technology, the interactiveness, and the emergence of new media by media characteristics. As a result, the environment of consumption involves the introduction of active marketing centered on personal media and the new insight into the genre of animation, and the industry of animation has a high possibility of developing into a leading industry in the future based on the development of creation technology and on the paradigm of empirical economy and requires the animation education based on new media. This study will find its significance in that it may provide the basis of study in terms of theory and practice of the creation animation research focused on new media.

  • The current media and content situation is increasingly more competitive and under the radical environment changes, the social & financial position of regional broadcasting companies has been threatened. The internet & mobile based platforms and smart media, however, bring a new opportunity of content distribution. This study analyzes the current status of MBCNET which is the superstation of regional MBC stations and specialists interviews to develop the content distribution strategies of regional broadcasting companies. According to the following: finance, ratings, and new media distribution analysis, the MBCNET outcome is deemed successful based on the content library and regional power. MBCNET utilized opportunity to develop strong content resources and distribution power. In order to maintain its competitive edge, MBCNET needs to adopt the following strategies: content and platform marketing power, research & development of competitive content based on user behavior analysis, and reorganization that is able to counteract N-screen circumstances.

  • 'True education', which was the core ideology of 'the Korean Teachers & Educational Workers Union', is re-appropriated in the new media era. This word, which is actively used by young people, means 'punishment against the object of social condemnation'. One of the characteristics of 'true education contents' commonly seen on the Internet is that it shows a tendency to 'fragmentation'. True educational contents are short in length, and the contents are very local. This reflects the characteristics of a postmodern society where totality disappears and small stories are consumed. Second, the standard for dividing good and evil is extremely 'arbitrary'. Whereas the existing stories of rewarding virtue and punishing vice had universal values such as love, consideration, and peace, the content of true education distinguishes good and evil with an extremely narrow perspective. The way to justify arbitrary standard is to incite public outrage. Third, 'humour' is added. Here, humor is combined with the emotion of hatred, causing the problem of weakening people's critical consciousness.

  • This study is focused on the relationship of old and new media with the concept of cultural interface. This study try to find out their similarities and differences of media contents and interface through contents analysis of text. As a results, there are competible coexistance of transparent immediacy and hypermediacy as a double logic of remediation. And the features of remediation that borrowing, aggressive, and absorb are showed cross each other. A related studies are focused on the narrative structure of story and on analysis of character, events, and background. And the other studies are focused on the policy of new media distribution. But, recent new media emphasizes the visualization of 3D technology and that strategy. Also they tries to convert a various media contents. Therefore, it is important to check and prepare those environmental changes of media. Then, more researches will be applied to remediation and cultural interface of this study. And I hope that they will be find an alternative strategy of contents and interface on media.

  • 콘텐츠 산업은 디지털 기술의 발달로 콘텐츠 속성이 아날로그에서 디지털 융복화로 변화되고 있으며, IPTV, DMB, WiBro, 3DTV 등과 같은 뉴미디어를 통해 융복합 서비스로 제공되고 있다. 또한 디지털콘텐츠 산업의 영역은 과거 엔터테인먼트 위주에서 미래에는 제조, 서비스를 포함한 산업 전영역에 체화 및 융합되어 산업의 경계를 초월할 것으로 전망된다. 이러한 콘텐츠 산업에 있어서의 융합 현상은 산업간 경계약화, 기술의 발달 및 고객수요의 다양화 등에 의해 빠르게 확산중에 있으며, 특히 문화기술(CT)의 진보가 근본적으로 콘텐츠 산업에서의 융합을 가속화시키고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 콘텐츠 산업에서의 융합 유형을 4가지(강화, 확장, 결합, 창조)로 구분하여 주요 사례들을 살펴보고, 미래 콘텐츠 산업의 트렌드를 전망해 봄으로써 융합형 콘텐츠 산업의 육성 및 발전을 위한 정책을 수립하고 시행하는 데 기여하고자 한다.

Utilization of UCC in Convergence Era (컨버전스시대 UCC의 활용)

  • UCC(User Created Content) is attracted public attention in the era of web2.0 that users create, distribute and consume various kinds of media content through a web platform standing on participation, collaboration and openness. As most discussion about UCC is centered on making benefit using it, it is understood as 'the information commodity' which is appropriated to new media environment. But UCC have to be understood not only as the information commodity but as 'the state of media'. UCC can be classified into two types based on desire for transparency and opaqueness from the media's genealogical point of view which is the logic of 'remediation' that J.Bolter and R.Grusin suggested. In the convergence era that a lot of new media appear, for example IPTV and DMB, this study devise a method of the utilization of UCC from diverse aspects of remediation in the paradigm of convergence.

  • 방송 통신 융합 환경의 도래는 뉴미디어 산업 발전의 기회이며 동시에 저작권의 위기이다. 반면 저작권은 오랜 기간 논의된 문제였음에도, 제도적으로 기술적으로 해결되지 못한 미완의 숙제로 남아있다. 이 글은 저작권 보호와 공정 사용이 문화발전이라는 공동의 목적을 가지고 있음을 논증하고 융합 환경에 대한 구조 분석을 시도한다. 이를 통해 저작권 보호 기술이 가지는 한계와 제약을 검토한다. 또한 OWL로 표현된 관계 기반의 저작물 추적 및 통제 기술을 새롭게 제안한다. 특히 접근 통제 기술인 DRM을 시맨틱하게 설계할 수 있는 저작권 보호 기술의 속성과 특성에 대한 분석을 소개함으로 향후 디지털 콘텐츠 관리 및 응용 기술 구현에 도움을 주고자한다.

일본을 통해 본 한국 애니메이션 산업의 경쟁력

  • 최근 일본 애니메이션은 인터넷, 휴대전화 등 뉴미디어의 등장, 낮은 출산율, 제작환경의 열악함으로 인한 젊은층의 외면 등으로 과거의 영광을 재현하는데 먹구름이 끼고 있다. 이를 타개하기 위해 일본은 정부의 적극적인 지원, 타산업과의 연계 모색 등 각종 애니메이션 지원책을 쏟아내고 있다. 전세계 애니메이션시장을 선도하고 있는 일본이 급변하는 시장과 기술 환경속에서 어떻게 대처해 나가는지 지켜보는 것은 같은 시스템을 지닌 우리에게도 의미있는 일이 될 것이다.

개국 10주년 맞은 케이블TV

  • 국내 케이블TV가 지난달 1일로 개국 10년을 맞았다. 가입자 수나 시청률 등 수치상으로는 놀라운 신장세를 보이며‘뉴미디어의 강자’로 떠올랐지만 아직도 저가 이용료나 뒤쳐진 방송 · 통신 융합 등 내실이라는 측면에선 개선해야 할 구석들이 없지 않다. 오는 2010년이면 아날로그방송이 종료되는 디지털방송 조류에 맞춰 변신을 시도하고 있는 케이블TV업계를 살펴봤다.
