Effect of Chemical Conditioning on Flotation and Thickening Properties of Sludge using a Microbubble Generating Pump (화학적 개량이 미세기포 발생펌프를 이용한 슬러지 부상농축에 미치는 영향)

  • The study presents sewage sludge flotation and thickening efficiencies which changes chemical conditioning and mixing conditions using a flotation thickening system with a microbubble generating pump. Flotation and thickening of sewage sludge are shown to significantly influence kinds of coagulants more than Gt values. It is found that the flotation and thickening efficiencies for kinds of coagulants follows the order: $Al_2(SO_4)_3$ < PSO-M < $Fe_2(SO_4)_3$. We shows that the flotation thickening system(1.6 $m^3$/d) could be continuously operated during two hours on operation conditions in the lab-scale experiments. Sludge thickening efficiency in the A/S ratio of 0.029 - 0.019 mL/mg was found to be very efficient, reaching to 300.0~335.7%.

Functional Properties of Acetylated and Succinylated Silkworm Larvae Protein Concentrates (아세틸화와 숙시닐화한 번데기 농축단백질의 기능성)

  • Eighty eight percent of succinylation at $\varepsilon$-amino group of lysine was obtained from silkworm larvae protein concentrate and it resulted in increased bulk density and fat absorption, improved flavor and color, increased solubility over fivefold. Both emulsifying activity and emulsion stability of the succinylated protein were improved by 30% and emulsifying capacity was enhanced by 4%. Foaming capacity of the succinylated Protein concentrate was improved by 30% and foaming stability improved fivefold. The viscosity of succinylated silkworm larvae protein concentrate was increased at all concentrations and reached the highest at 4~5% of concentations. Acetylation of silkworm larvae protein concentrate caused negligible change in the functional properties studied. Therefore, high emulsification properties of silkworm larvae protein concentrate would be a good protein source for the emulsified foods.

  • A method was developed for concentrating fish pathogenic virus from sea water using membrane ultrafiltration system and centricon. The method consists of passing large volumes (Ca. 20 liter) of sea water through ultrafiltration (PAN) filter followed by cross-flow filtration method and centrifugation use the centricon (Plus-20). This procedure permitted the processing of 20 liter of sea water which resulted in a 20,000-fold reduction in the volume of water and greater than 90% recovery of the seeded MABV.

  • Performance of pilot plant scale extraction and concentration of purple-fleshed sweet potato anthocyanin pigment was tested and the characteristics of pigment extracts and concentrates were investigated. Fifty kilograms of purple-fleshed sweet potato was extracted with 500 L of 1% citric acid in 20% ethanol. As a whole, extraction pattern of the large scale extraction was similar to that of the laboratory scale extraction. The extracted pigment solution was filtered twice with a bag filter and a winding type microfilter and the filtrate was concentrated by a large scale vacuum evaporator at $40^{\circ}C$ and 600 mmHg vac. The mean values of total optical density (TOD) of the extract and the concentrate were 6.53 and 120.45, respectively. Browning index (BI) and Degradation index (DI) of extract were 5.86 and 1.55 and those of concentrate were 5.89 and 1.56, respectively, which indicated that the pigments were not changed or degraded through the extraction and concentration process.

  • In order to improve the production yield of kindorase as complex antiphlogistic agent, molecular weight of concentration membrane, membrane configration, temperature, pressure and pH of concentration solution, fouling, etc. were investigated, and the results obtained are as follows 1. High production yield was shown using 10k Dalton molecular weight cut-off concentration membrane and spiral membrane made of polysulfone. 2. And it was reasonable conditions for maintaining the concentration solution at 3Bar in pressure. 3. The optimum pH of solution for improving production yield of kindorase were the range of 7.5 to 8.5, and for obtaining better production yield, clean in place(C.I.P) of membrane was treated with 0.1N NaOH at 40 to $50^{\circ}C$ for 30minutes.

Effects of Concentrated Pig Slurry Using Membrane Filter on the Growth and Yield of Tomato in Nutriculture (막분리 돈분뇨 농축액비를 이용한 양액재배가 토마토의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of concentrated pig slurry using membrane filter on growth of tomato in nutriculture. Pig slurry was filtered by ultra filtration and concentrated by reverse osmosis process. Filtration of pig slurry was necessary to prevent the hose clogging in nutriculture. The concentrated pig slurry (CS) and nutrient solution (NS) were mixed by six different mixing ratios of 0:100, 20:80, 40:60, 60:40%, 80: 20 and 100%:0% based on nitrogen content. The chemical nutrient solution was the solution of National Horticulture Research Station for the growth of tomato. The concentration of nutrient solution was adjusted a range of $1.6{\sim}2.0mS/cm$ in EC. The plant height of tomato treated with CS 20+NS 80% was similar with NS 100% control plot. Plant height was highest in the plot of CS 20+NS 80%. The treatment of 100% concentrated pig slurry was lowest in the gowth characteristics of tomato. Number of cluster was very lower in 100% concentrated pig slurry compared with plot of chemical nutrient solution. In the beginning of growth stage, SPAD reading value was reduced in plot treated with CS 100%, but CS 20+NS 80% plot was higher compared to 100% concentrated pig slurry. SPAD value of tomato leaves was decreased as the amount of CS was increased. The SPAD value also in treatment of concentrated pig slurry was lower in the middle growth stage compared to control plot. The dry weight of stem and leaf were 107.4, 104.2g in plot of NS 100% and CS 20%+NS 80%, respectively. The fruit number and weight were decreased at high application plots of concentrated pig slurry, The fruit setting of tomato showed lowest in the plot treated with 100% concentrated pig slurry, and the growth of tomato severely decreased after application of 100% CS treatment. In conclusion, the growth characteristics such as plant height and fruit weight of tomato were not significantly different between the plots treated with mixture of 20% CS +80%NS and 100% nutrient solution treatment. In conclusion, the mixture solution of 20% of concentrated pig slurry and 80% of nutrient solution could be used as a nutrition solution of tomato nuticulture.

  • 국민소득의 증대와 함께 소비자의 고품질 농축산물에 대한 수요와 관심이 날로 증가하고 있다 이에 따라 안전하며 고품질인 농축산물을 소비자에게 공급하기 위하여 안전한 농축산물의 생산, 신선도 유지를 위한 유통구조의 개혁, 품질 및 안전성 평가기술개발을 위한 노력이 보다 더 요구되고 있다. 소비자가 믿고 구매하기 위해서는 농축산물에 대한 품질보증이 필수적이며 이를 위해서는 신속하고 정확한 품질 및 유해물질의 판정기술 개발이 필요하다. 많은 농축산물에 있어서 주요 품질인자인 숙도 및 신선도의 변화는 휘발성 화학물질로 이루어진 냄새의 변화로 나타나므로 이를 측정하여 품질 및 안전성을 간접적으로 판정할 수 있다 기존의 냄새에 의한 품질 판정은 판별전문가에 의한 관능평가법 또는 GC(Gas Chromatography)나 GC/MS(Gas chromatograph mass spectrometer)에 의하여 주로 이루어져 왔다. 하지만, 관능평가법의 경우 판별전문가의 개인적인 차이, 피로, 건강상태 등에 따라 판정의 객관성이 떨어질 우려가 있고, GC나 GC/MS를 이용할 경우 냄새분석에 많은 시간과 노력이 소요되는 문제점이 있다.   • 본 연구의 목적은 DTP 폐수를 나노여과막으로 여과하여 처리하는 공정에서 발생하는 농축수를 처리하는 공정의 개발에 있다. 특히 DTP 장치의 특성상 발생 폐수를 별도의 폐수처리장으로 수집, 이동 하지 않고 현장에서 처리하는 소규모 패키지 시스템을 개발하고자 하였다. 아런 목표를 달성하기 위해 효율적인 여과공정인 나노여과를 적용하였고, 이 때 발생하는 농축수는 오존이나 과산화수소와 같은 산화제를 이용하여 일부 처리하고 나머지는 감압농축 및 감량화를 농한 농축수 관리 방안을 연구 하였다.

수지충전식 전기투석 재생조를 이용한 LOMI 제염폐액의 전기화학적 재생연구

  • 실증규모의 수지충전식 전기투석 재생조를 사용하여 농축음극액내 바나듐의 전기화학적 환원 방법에 의한 재생거동을 조사하였다. 전기투석 분리재생 종료후 남아있는 개미산용액을 전해액으로 사용한 농축음극액내 전기투석된 철 및 코발트는 음극액의 pH를 약 4.3내외로 조절하면 전해환원에 의해 전착.제거된다. 또한 농축음극액내 바나듐은 +2가로 전해환원 되어 착화물을 이루고 있는 Vanadous picolinate 형태로 존재하기 때문에 음극액은 농축된 LOMI 제염제로 재생된다. 이 전해환원에 의한 농축음극액의 재생방법은 제염폐액의 전기투석 분리재생 후 피콜리네이트 착화제만을 재사용하는 기존의 재생개념보다 더욱 효과적으로 제염폐액을 재생시켜 재활용할 순 있는 방사성폐기물의 감용효율이 큰 향상된 제염폐액 재생공정이다.
