Effects of Fish Oil and Some Seed Oils on Lipid Composition of Serum in Rats (어유 및 종자유의 급이가 흰쥐의 혈청 지질 성분에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was designed to observe the effects of the fish oil and some seed oils on the improvement of the lipid composition in rats. In order to induce the triglyceridemia in the rats of the Sprague-Dawley, 12% coconut oil and 3% each of olive oil, lard, fish oil, perilla oil, corn oil, red pepper seed oil and evening primrose oil were administered to the rats for tweets. Total cholesterol concentrations of serum were lower in the fish oil, perilla oil and corn oil groups and by for higher in the red pepper seed oil and evening primrose oil groups than in the olive oil group(control group). HDL-cholesterol concentrations were a little higher in the red pepper oil and evening primrose oil groups. In the ratio of HDL-cholesterol concentrations to total cholesterol concentrations, all groups were higher percentage than the control group. Cholesteryl ester concentrations of serum were high in n-6 PUFA rich red pepper seed oil and evening primrose oil group. In the ratio of cholesteryl ester concentrations to total cholesterol, all groups(70.0~74.4%)were higher than the control group(62%). Phospholipid concentrations of serum were low in the fish oil and perilla oil groups and triglyceride concentrations were remarkably lower in the fish oil and evening primrose oil groups than in the control group. LCAT activities of serum were higher in the lard group than in the control group, but lower in the other groups.

Flame Extinguishing Concentrations and Flue Gas Compositions of n-Heptane by Mixed Inert Gas Agents (불활성 가스계 혼합소화약제의 n-Heptane 불꽃소화농도 및 배가스 조성)

  • We measured flame extinguishing concentration and flue gas composition in the n-heptane fuel cup-burner system using inert gas agents such as nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide and their mixtures. The flame extinguishing concentration of binary gaseous mixture was well predicted by model which contains the flame extinguishing concentration and composition of pure components. The higher average specific gravity of the mixed inert gas agents, the more excellent flame extinguishing performance. And the structure of enclosed space also affects the fire extinguishing. The composition of carbon dioxide in the flue gas was decreased with increasing extinguishing agent used. Nitrogen monoxide production is not related with increasing nitrogen, but increased at rapid mass flow rate of air in the cup-burner.

  • 기체분리막의 성능을 평가하기 위한 Manometric method의 몇가지 투과측정장치 중, High-Vacuum technique는 기체 투과계수, 확산계수 및 용해도계수의 정확한 값을 얻는데 가장 유용한 장치이다. 그러나 이 장치는 비용이 비싸고, 조작법이 복잡하며, 투과실험시 계 내의 투과측의 농도를 분석할 수 없고, 측정시간이 많이 걸리는 단점이 있다. 따라서 보다 간단하고 일반적인 측정장치는 막내 기체 확산계수의 측정에는 정확도가 떨어지지만, Low-Vacuum Technique 측정장치가 더 많이 사용되고 있다. Volumetric method는 조작법이 간단하며, 계 내의 농도분석이 가능하고, 측정시간이 빠르며, 비용이 적게 드는 장점이 있다. 일반적으로 Volumetric 투과특정장치로 투과계수는 얻었지만, 확산계수에 대해서는 극소수의 연구자들만이 언급하고 있다. 이는 실험하는 방법의 어려움과 기체의 막내 농도분포에 대해 수학적으로 적합한 모델의 해를 얻지 못한데 있다. 최근데 Lee 등은 Volumetric method을 이용한 확산계수의 평가에 대해 연구하여 신뢰성 있는 결과를 보여주었다. 따라서 본 실험은 Volumetric method를 이용하여 막내 기체 확산계수의 측정을 위해 온도, 압력및 분자직경에 따라 Standing time의 예측에 대해 검토하였다.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 음주섭취로 인한 혈중 알코올 농도에 따른 뇌의 활동도변화를 측정, 분석하는데 있다. 1차원 시계열데이터인 EEG신호는 생체 비선형 동역학 시스템으로부터 발생하는 Deterministic Nonlinear Chaos신호로써 무작위적인 신호와는 구분되어질 수 있다. EEG시계열데이터를 위상공간에 적절한 어트랙터로 재구성하여 상관차원 최대발산지수 등의 카오스 지수들을 추출하여보면 EEG시계열데이터가 무작위적인 계에서 발생하는 랜덤한 신호가 아닌 카오스계에서 기인함을 알 수 있고, 인간의 정신상태에 따른 뇌의 활동도를 정성적, 정량적으로 판별해 볼 수 있다. 이러한 카오스 분석방법을 토대로 음주전의 뇌의 활동도와 음주후 혈중알코올 농도에 따른 뇌의 활동도변화를 EEG의 카오스 지수들의 변화를 통해 분석해 보았다.

  • 중금속은 해수에서보다 해수중의 생물계에 그 농도가 더 높은 것으로 알려져 있으며 수은도 무기형으로 생물계에 존재하다가 생물활동으로 인해 알킬형으로 변한다. food chain이 미량금속 축적의 주통로로 알려져 있으나 그외 몇가지 방법이 제시되고 잇다. 특히 연체동물은 미량금속의 축적현상이 온도, 폭로시간, 시간, 생리적 활동에 다라 상당히 달라진다. 또한 유기알킬 수은이 무기수은보다 비교적 낮은 독성을 나타내지만 후자의 피해도 무시할 수는 없다. 굴(crassostrea virginica)은 염화수은농도가 비교적 낮은 상태에서도 상\ulcorner량의 축적현상을 보여주었다. 두개의 compartment system을 연계적인 상태에서 보면 첫 compartment에서의 초기축적은 가역적이었으나 둘째 Compartment에서 측정된 원실율로 보아 비가역적 축적이상을 확인해 주었다. 뿐만 아니라 미량금속이 아가미와 외부 근육에서 가장 높은 축적률을 보인것은 flow system의 regression moder과 매우 흡사함을 암시하며 농도가 낮은 상태에서의 축적이상에 중요한 의미를 부여하였다.

Isolation and Characterization of Klebsiella pneumoniae WL-5 Capable of Decolorizing Triphenylmethane and Azo Dyes (트리페닐메탄계와 아조계 색소를 탈색할 수 있는 Klebsiella pneumoniae WL-5의 분리 및 특성)

  • A Klebsiella pneumoniae WL-5 with the capability of decolorizing several recalcitrant dyes was isolated from activated sludge of an effluent treatment plant of a textile and dyeing industry. This strain showed a higher dye decolorization under static condition and color removal was optimal at pH 6-8 and $30-35^{\circ}C$. More than 90% of its color of Congo Red were reduced within 12 hr at $200\;{\mu}M$ dye concentration. Malachite Green, Brilliant Green and Reactive Black-5 lost over 85% of their colors at $10\;{\mu}M$ dye concentration, but the percentage decolorization of Reactive Red-120, Reactive Orange-16, and Crystal Violet were about 46%, 25%, and 13%, respectively. Decolorizations of Congo Red and triphenylmethane dyes, such as Malachite Green, Brilliant Green, and Crystal Violet were mainly due to adsorption to cells, whereas azo dyes, such as Reactive Black-5, Reactive Red-120, and Reactive Orange-16 seemed to be removed by biodegradation through unknown enzymatic processes.

Manganese Oxide Catalyzed Fenton-like Reduction of Chlorinated Compounds (산화망간으로 촉매화된 펜톤유사반응을 적용한 염소계화합물의 환원분해)

  • Manganese oxide/ hydrogen peroxide($MnO_2$/${H_2}{O_2}$) reactions were investigated as an alternative to Fenton-like reaction to reduce chlorinated organic compounds in groundwater This system showed high degradation of CT with low ${H_2}{O_2}$concentration($\leq$294mM) at neutral condition, and CT degradation increased with increasing pH values. The rate of CT degradation was not so much dependent on increase in $MnO_2$concentration since increase in production of oxygen during the reaction obstructed reaction of ${H_2}{O_2}$ on the surface of $MnO_2$. These results show that $MnO_2$catalyzed Ponton-like reaction could be a potential alternative method for treating chlorinated organic compounds in groundwater.

Characteristics of Extraction of Daidzein and Genistein in Soybean Using Sub/Supercritical Fluids (아임계/초임계 유체를 이용한 콩에 포함된 Daidzein과 Genistein의 추출특성)

  • Daidzein and genistein were extracted from Korean soybean by supercritical $CO_2$ and sub/supercritical water. The extracted sample was analyzed by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). The retention time, retention factor, column efficiency, column selectivity and resolution of aglycons were compared with the change in the temperature and pressure of supercritical fluid and ethanol concentration. The characteristics of extraction of daidzein and genistein were more affected by ethanol concentration using supercritical $CO_2$. The most desirable extraction yield was obtained by supercritical $H_2O$ with $400^{\circ}C$ and 250 bar. Generally, the extraction yield of aglycons increased over 10 times using supercritical $CO_2$ than sub/supercritical $H_2O$.

Spectrophotometric analysis of feldspathic porcelain with silver ion (은이온을 첨가한 장석계 도재의 분광 측색학적 평가)

  • Purpose: This study was evaluated the shade of feldspathic porcelain with various concentration of silver ion. Materials and Methods: The control group was conventional feldspathic porcelain with no silver ion, the experimental groups were the feldpathic porcelain with 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% silver ion. The number of specimens on the each group was 5. Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage (CIE) $L^*a^*b^*$ parameters were recorded twice for each specimen with a spectrophotometer (Model CM-2600d, Minolta, Japan). One-way Anova was used for statistical analysis. Results: L value was similar. a value was increasing and b value was decreasing with silver ion statistically significantly. ${\Delta}E$ was increasing according to silver ion significantly. Conclusion: The shade of feldspahtic porcelain was influenced by silver ion. Ag ion under 10% concentration is acceptable clinically.

Effect of Environmental Parameters on the Degradation of Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil (환경인자가 토양내 석유계탄화수소의 분해에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to Investigate the effect of environmental conditions on the degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH) in soil. The soil used for this study was sandy loam. Target contaminant, diesel oil, was spiked at 10.000mgTPH/kg dry soil. Moisture content was controlled to 50%, 70%, and 90% of field capacity of the soil. Temperature was controlled to $5^{\circ}C$, $10^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, and $30^{\circ}C$. The active degradation of TPH was observed at the moisture contents of 50% and 70% of field capacity, and temperature of $10^{\circ}C$ to $30^{\circ}C$. Degradation rate of n-alkanes was about two times greater than that of TPH. Volatilization loss of TPH was about 2% of initial concentration. Biocide control and no aeration experiments indicated that removal of TPH was primarily occurred by biodegradation under aerobic condition.
