Determination of Vitamin C in Chewing Gum Using Extraction by Tetrahydrofuran (테트라하이드로퓨란에 의한 추출방법을 이용한 츄잉검의 비타민 C 정량)

  • Extraction is the most important and tedious step to determine water-soluble vitamin C in water-insoluble chewing gum. For the rapid determination of vitamin C in chewing gum, a new method of dispersion in tetrahydrofuran(THF) was performed. Vitamin C was easily extracted from gum base using THF The content of vitamin C in chewing gum was rapidly quantified with high reliability by an enzymatic method using a chewing gum sample dispersed in tetrahydrofuran.

High Performance Liquid Chromatographic Determination and Content Uniformity of Aclatonium Napadisilate Preparation (고속액체 크로마토그라프법을 이용한 제제중 Aclatonium Napadisilate의 정량 및 함량균일성에 관한 연구)

  • A convenient high performance liquid chromatographic method was established for the quantitative determination and content uniformity test of aclatonium napadisilate preparation. This method was more simple to make the sample solution for injection, and easy to determine the content in the preparation. Aclatonium napadisilate was chromatographed using a $Lichrosorb-NH_2$ column $(4mm\;{\times}\;25\;cm$, and acetonitrile-water mixture (83:17) as an eluent at a flow rate of 1.8 ml/min. RI-detector response was linear over a range of $0.5{\sim}2.0%$ aclatonium napadisilate under above conditions. Reproducibility studies gave relative standard deviation of 1.29%.

  • This paper described analysis of acoustic emission parameter for the damage evaluation of type II vehicle fuel tank during fracture test. The observation of Kaiser effect, Felicity effect and creep effect is the means of damage evaluation method. It is possible to evaluate tank damage by the ratio of hit of over 60 dB and total hit. Damage mechanism of pressure tank can be estimated by analysis of average rise time, average amplitude.

  • The objective of this study is to predict behavior of a contaminant plume and concentration of contaminants in soil through tile relations between the concentrations of contaminants in groundwater and in soil on the shallow sandy aquifer contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons. The current state of the plume and its fate in the study area was simulated by using the MODFLOW-RT3D model and geochemical parameters of grounwater had been monitored and measured during 3 years (1999~2001). The relations between the concentrations of contaminants in each medium were taken from the investigation of site characterization conducted in 1999. Simulation results showed the center of the plume would migrate 407m twenty years later. At that time, the concentration would be decreased down to about 26 mg/$\ell$(93%). In comparison TEX concentration in the groundwater with that in the soil, the value of correlation coefficient (r=0.876) was as high as it could be used. Based on the high r-value, the linear equation was obtained from regression analysis. The results of model simulation by RT3D engine showed that the highest TEX concentration in the groundwater would be 58.8 mg/$\ell$ 16 years later, and then the TEX concentration in soil would be below the alarming level (80 mg/kg) of regulation criteria.

Pilot 규모 biopile에 의한 유류오염토양의 정화

  • Tile pilot scale biopile system was designed and constructed for evaluation of biopile efficiency. For the biopile system construction, two soil samples that were contaminated by mainly diesel were selected. The pilot scale biopile were consisted of the biopile dome, aeration system and monitoring system and two biopiles(pile A and pile B) were operated with nutrients and inoculum for more 100 days. The initial TPH concentrations for pile A and pile B were about 10,000 mg/kg and 2,300 mg/kg, respectively. After 70 days, the microbial densities in the pile A was increased and in the pile B it was no changed. The TPH contents decreased about 70% in the pile A and 30% in the pile B. Also, various kinds of PAHs were detected by analyzing the GC/MSD, and the reducing ratio in the piles A and pile B were similarly declined. The average biodegradation rates were calculated about 66.8mg/kg-day in the pile A and 10.9mg/kg-day in the pile B. During the operation period, pile temperature was the major limiting condition for the efficiency of all biopiles.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the chemical characteristics of the leachate for the open(illegal) dumping waste. In this study, the open dumping waste were mixed with 0, 5, 10, 15% of bentonite in each Iysimeter as a rate of weight. The simulation was evaluated by CODcr, ${NO_3}^-$, ${SO_4}^{2-}$, $Cl^-$ and heavy metals in leachate. As a result, the mixed waste with bentonite in all Iysimeters showed the reduction of CODcr and heavy metals were hardly detected. The removal rate of ${NO_3}^-$, ${SO_4}^{2-}$, $Cl^-$ was increased with the mixing rate of bentonite.

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to teach patients clinically useful external application of acne. Methods: We investigated the effects and manufacturing methods of the medical herbs published in the woman's monthly magazines according to "Zhong-Yao-Da-Ci-Dian(中藥大辭典)". Results: We investigated that Saururus chinensis Baill.(三白草), Houttuynia cordata Thunb.(魚腥草), Coix lachrymajobi L.(薏苡仁) were discovered 3 times, Brassica oleracea L.(甘藍), Raphanus sativus L.(래복), Daucus carota L. var. Sativa DC.(홍래복), Oryza sativa L.(米皮糠), Spinacia oleracea L.(파래), Cucumis sativus L.(黃爪) 2 times, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.(甘草), Gallus gallus domesticus Braisson.(?子白), Aloe vera L.(노회), Phascolus radiatus L.(綠豆), Prunus persica Batsch.(桃葉), Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.(番茄), Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz.(蒲公英), Prunus armeniaca L.(杏仁), Musa paradisiaca L. var. Sapientum O. ktze.(香蕉) and Malus pumila Mill.(평과) were discovered once in woman's monthly magazine during last two years. According to the effects, we classificated four groups which were defervescence(淸熱), subsidence of edema(消腫), pyorrhea(排膿) and gloss(滋潤) group.   • Batch experiments were performed to determine optimum conditions for biopile. The batch experiments results showed that 12.5 to 17.9% of moisture content was effective to biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbon regardless of soil texture. Total heterotrophic bacteria populations in the inoculum-treated soil were greater than of the control and nutrient-amended soil in the early stage, but the populations in the inoculum and nutrient-amended soil were not different significantly from those in the latter stage regardless of soil texture. The same trend was observed for petroleum hydrocarbon degrading bacteria populations. The results of the biodegradation capacity experiments showed that there was a decline in the TPH concentrations during the experiments and no significant difference on the biodegradation was observed by treatment in silt soil. Changes of n-C17/pristane and n-C18/phytane ratios in all treated soil were significantly more than those of control. This is a strong indication of biodegradation. The TPH removal rate was calculated at 60% in all treated soil.

골프장 농약 검사를 위한 다성분동시시험방법 확립에 관한 연구

  • The possibility of simultaneous analysis of 24 pesticides out of 30 residual pesticides which are subjected to test in the golf courses was examined. The utility of the simultaneous analysis of multi-residue pesticides was evaluated by recovery test through a standard addition method of pesticides in water, soil, and lawn grass. The experimental results of the recovery rates for individual pesticides are as follows : The number of pesticide of which average recovery was over 70% regardless of medium was 16 pesticides. These pesticides were composed of 8 organophosphorus pesticides(Chlorpyrifos, Chlorpyrifos-methyl, Diazinon, EPN, Fenitrothion, Phenthoate, Phosalone, and Toclofos-methyl). 4 organochlorinated pesticides(Daconil, Captan, Endosulfan, and Tetradifon), 2 pyrethroid pesticides(Fepropathrin, Lambda-cyhalothrin) and 2 other pesticides(Bromopropylate, Pendimethalin). On the other hand, in case of Dicofol, average recovery by medium was over 70% for water and lawn grass but was only 53.3% for soil. Therefore, the simultaneous analytical method applied in this experiment is not appropriate for analysis of Dicofol in soil. Furthermore, among 7 pesticides, 2 pesticides(Amitraz and Pyraclofos) showed that theirs average recovery rates deviated from criteria(70~130%) at almost all media, while 5 pesticides(Bensulide, Deltamethrin, Iprodione, Phosphamidon and Tralomethlin) were not detected from all media by selected GC detector(NPD or ECD).

  • Recently, the corrosion and aging of bridge structures are of great concern impractical The uncertainties of the corroded reinforced bars in concrete influence not only the safety of the bridge structures, but also the flexural strength of reinforced concrete members. This paper considers these uncertainties by providing a reliability-based framework and show that the identification of the optimum maintenance scenario is a straightforward process. This is achieved by using a computer pro망am for Life Cycle Cost Analysis of Deteriorating Structures (LCCADS). This program can consider the effects of various types of actions on the reliability index profile of a deteriorating structures.
