수유부의 내분비계 장애물질 노출저감화행동에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Behavior of Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals in Breastfeeding Mothers)

  • Purpose: To investigate factors that affect behaviors of reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in breastfeeding mothers. Methods: Subjects were 166 breastfeeding mothers who were recruited from January 25 to April 15, 2018. The questionnaire consisted of items associated with behaviors of reducing exposure to EDCs, attitude to behaviors of reducing exposure, subject norms of behavior of reducing exposure, and perceived behavior control. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Factors influencing behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs were attitude toward behaviors of reducing exposure, perceived barrier, and period of lactation. The more positive the attitude toward behaviors of reducing exposure was, the lower the perceived barrier. The longer the feeding period, the higher the behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs. Conclusions: To enhance behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs, it is necessary to develop a positive educational program in breastfeeding department to improve attitude toward behaviors of reducing the exposure to EDCs, decrease perceived barrier, and increase the breastfeeding period.

중.고등학생의 환경호르몬에 대한 인식도, 정보획득 행동, 지식, 노출저감화 행동 및 교육요구도 에 관한 연구 (Recognition, Information Acquisition Behavior, Knowledge, Behaviors to Decrease Exposure and Education Need toward Endocrine Disruptors among Middle and High School Students)

  • 본 연구는 중 고등학생을 대상으로 한 환경호르몬에 대한 교육방향을 설정하고 교육내용을 구성하는데 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 환경호르몬에 대한 인식도, 정보획득 행동, 지식, 행동, 교육요구도에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 자료는 서울, 인천, 대전, 대구, 부산, 광주 등 대도시에 거주하는 중학생 및 고등학생 180명으로부터 수집되었다. 본 연구의 자료는 SPSS WINDOWS Version 14.0으로 분석되었으며, 빈도분석, Cronbach's alpha, t 분석, 일원분산분석, Duncan의 다중범위분석, ${\chi}^2$ 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과, 첫째, 중 고등학생의 환경호르몬에 대한 관심도는 별로 높지 않은 것으로 나타났고 대다수의 응답자들이 환경호르몬이 사람에게 위험을 주는 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 환경호르몬에 대한 정보는 '텔레비전, 라디오'로부터 가장 많이 얻고 있었으나 환경호르몬에 대한 정보를 획득하거나 획득한 정보를 이해하는 것이 쉽지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 '학교' 및 '텔레비전, 라디오'로부터 환경호르몬에 대한 정보를 획득하는 것을 선호하고 있었다. 셋째, 환경호르몬에 대한 지식 수준과 노출저감화에 대한 행동 수준은 높지 않았으며, 환경호르몬 노출을 줄이기 위한 행동 수준은 지식 수준에 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 환경호르몬에 대한 교육 필요성 인식도는 매우 높은 편이었고, '환경호르몬 피해 예방법', '환경호르몬 방출물질 또는 오염물질', '환경호르몬의 위해성' 순으로 교육내용 요구도가 높았다.

성조숙증 아동 어머니와 정상발달 아동 어머니의 내분비계 장애물질 노출저감화행동 비교 (Comparative Analysis of Behavior of Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals between Mothers of Children with Precocious Puberty and Typically Developing Children)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to enhance health management and prevention strategies for precocious puberty by comparing the knowledge, motivation, and behaviors related to reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) between mothers of children with precocious puberty and those of typically developing children. Methods: Participants were 66 mothers of children with precocious puberty from a hospital and 71 mothers of typically developing children from an elementary school. The research questionnaire assessed knowledge of EDCs, motivation, self-efficacy, and behaviors towards reduced exposure to EDCs, in addition to general characteristics of children with precocious puberty. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. Results: There were statistically significant differences in self-efficacy (p=.015) and behavior (p=.001) regarding reduced exposure to EDCs between the two groups. Behaviors toward reduced exposure to EDCs were positively associated with knowledge of EDCs, motivation, and self-efficacy among mothers of children with precocious puberty. Additionally, these behaviors correlated positively with knowledge of EDCs, motivation, self-efficacy, and the child's birth weight and waist circumference among mothers of typically developing children. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that mothers of children with precocious puberty exhibited less proactive behavior in reducing exposure to EDCs compared to mothers of typical children. Therefore, it is important to foster interest in the impact of environmental factors, beyond characteristic factors, on behaviors aimed at reducing exposure to EDCs.

임부의 내분비계 장애물질 노출저감화행동의 영향요인 (Influencing Factors of Behavior of Reducing Exposure to Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals in Pregnant Women)

  • Purpose: This study attempted to determine the factors related to behaviors of reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (BRE to EDCs) in pregnancy, based on the PRECEDE model. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with participants (N=239) who met the medical records and eligibility criteria from the Women's Hospital and Public Health Center. Data were collected using a specially-designed questionnaire based on the PRECEDE model and included BRE to EDCs predisposing factors, reinforcing factors, and enabling factors. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and a hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: In Model I it was found that participation in prenatal education influenced the BRE to EDCs significantly; and a regression showed that the determinant variables accounted for 3.4%. In Model II, the predisposing factors of perceived barriers of BRE to EDCs and environmental self-efficacy were added. It was shown that they significantly influenced BRE to EDCs in the order named, and a regression revealed that increases in the determinant variables accounted for 22.5%. In Model III, to which enabling factors were added, the information acquisition experience of BRE to EDCs interacted significantly with BRE to EDCs and a regression showed an increase in the determinant variables accounting for 25.3%. Conclusion: The results of this study, the content of endocrine disruptors must be included in the prenatal care education program for pregnant women, and it should be composed of contents that can reduce the perceived obstacle to BRE to EDCs, enhance the environmental self-efficacy, and provide the information in regard to reducing exposure to EDCs.

간호대학생들의 환경친화적 태도, 노출저감화 행동, 내분비계 장애물질에 대한 지식과 비만의 관련성 연구 (Relationship among Pro-environmental Attitude, Behavior to Decrease Exposure, Knowledge of Endocrine Disruptors, and Obesity-related Profiles in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the pro-environmental attitude (actual commitment domain, verbal commitment domain, affect domain), behavior to decreased exposure and knowledge of endocrine disruptors by obesity -related profiles (BMI, body fat percentage, visceral fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass percentage, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio). Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 102 nursing students. Data were collected from November to December, 2015 using self-report questionnaires and physical measurements. Data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation and coefficients with SPSS 18.0. Results: The study results showed that actual commitment domain of pro-environmental attitude and behavior to decreased exposure level on endocrine disruptors were significantly related to visceral fat percentage. Actual commitment domain of a pro-environmental attitude was significantly related to body fat percentage. Pro-environmental attitude was significantly related to the behavior to decreased exposure level on endocrine disruptors and knowledge thereof. Conclusion: These findings suggest that visceral fat and body fat percentages were significantly related to the actual commitment domain of a pro-environmental attitude. Therefore, a replication study is recommended to understand the connection between endocrine disruptors and obesity. In addition, developing an education program about endocrine disruptors for nursing students is recommended. In particular, a pro-environmental attitude, especially on actual commitment domain, could be involved as an education program.

식생활 관련 내분비계 장애물질에 대한 초등학생의 인식도, 지식 및 노출저감화 행동에 관한 연구 (Recognition, Knowledge, and Behavior to Decrease Exposure toward Endocrine Disruptors in Dietary Life among Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of concern about endocrine disruptors, the degree of recognition about the risk of endocrine disruptors towards humans, the degree of worry about the risk of endocrine disruptors towards ones self or family, information-obtaining behavior regarding endocrine disruptors, the degree of knowledge and the degree of behavior to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors, and the degree of an educational need for endocrine disruptors in the dietary life of elementary school students. The data were collected from 162 students in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju. Frequencies, Cronbach's alpha, t tests, analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range tests and chi-square tests were conducted using SPSS V.14.0 for WINDOWS. The results of this study were as follows. The degree of concern about endocrine disruptors was not high. The respondents obtained most of their information regarding endocrine disruptors from TV/radio. Respondents had difficulty in acquiring and understanding the information. Both the degree of knowledge and the degree of behavior to decrease exposure were not high. The respondents showed a high degree of educational need for endocrine disruptors, the most important was methods to prevent damage from endocrine disruptors followed by risk of endocrine disruptors.

식생활에서의 내분비계 장애물질에 대한 성인들의 노출 저감화 행동 분석 (Analysis of Adult Behaviors to Decrease Exposure to Endocrine Disruptors in Dietary Life)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the level of concern and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors, and the level of dietary behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors, to determine the factors affecting the level of knowledge and behaviors, and to assess the causal relationship between them. The data were collected from 579 adults in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju provinces. Frequencies, t tests, analysis of variance, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, multiple regression analyses, and path analysis were carried out by SPSS for Win V.18.0. The results of this study were as follows: The level of concern about endocrine disruptors was higher than the medium level. The respondents were most concerned about a container of cup ramen among products related to foods. The levels of both knowledge and behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life were not high. The factors affecting the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors were educational level, attendance in education for endocrine disruptors, and concern about endocrine disruptors. On the other hand, sex, age, concern about endocrine disruptors, and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure toward endocrine disruptors. The results of the path analysis showed that educational level and education of endocrine disruptors had an indirect influence on the level of behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. The concern about endocrine disruptors had both a direct and an indirect effect on the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. In addition, sex, age and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors directly affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life.

경기도 일부 어린이집 조리종사자의 내분비계 장애물질 인식도 및 노출 저감화 행동 조사 (Recognition of Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals and Behavior to Reduce Exposure to Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals in Cooking Staff Working at Child Care Center Located in Gyeonggi Province)

  • Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are chemicals present in the environment that interfere with the normal hormone functions of various organisms and cause genetopathy, deformities, or cancer. This study surveyed the awareness of EDCs with 242 cooking staff at 242 meal service facilities for children located in a part of Gyeonggi Province. To minimize infants' exposure to EDCs, the subjects were provided with information on EDCs for two months. The behavior of reducing exposure to EDCs was analyzed according to the awareness of EDCs and work ethics. In addition, the effects before and after being provided with the information were evaluated. According to the results, the levels of awareness of EDCs and work ethics' scores of the cooking staff were high with 3.95 and 4.39 points, respectively, out of five points. In addition, a higher awareness of EDCs and a higher work ethics' score were associated with an improved behavior of reducing exposure to EDCs (P<0.05). The overall cooking and cleaning behavior for reducing exposure to EDCs showed improvement after providing information (P<0.01). Therefore, these results suggest that it is important to provide continuous education to enhance the awareness of EDCs, work ethics, and behavior to reduce exposure to EDCs.

청소년의 간식을 통한 첨가당섭취량 및 고당류식품 관련 이벤트 데이 참여행동에 대한 조사 (A Survey on Added Sugar Intakes from Snacks and Participation Behaviors of Special Event Days Sharing Sweet Foods among Adolescents in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 간식 중의 첨가당 함량에 관한 자체 DB를 제작해 청소년의 간식을 통한 1일 첨가당섭취량을 파악하고, 고당류식품 섭취와 밀접한 관계가 있는 고당류식품 관련 이벤트 데이에 대한 청소년의 참여행동을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 본 연구에서 설문조사, 식사조사, 간식조사가 실시되었는데, 설문 조사대상자는 전국의 읍 면, 중소도시, 대도시에 소재한 일반계 및 실업계 중 고등학교에 재학 중인 $12{\sim}18$세의 남녀 학생 959명, 식사조사 대상자는 공주시에 소재한 중학교에 재학 중인 남녀 학생 71명, 간식조사 대상자은 공주시와 서울시에 소재한 중 고등학교에 재학 중인 남녀 학생 230명을 대상으로 실시하였으며, 설문조사, 간식조사, 식사조사 간에 대상자는 서로 중복되도록 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다.1) 조사대상자는 평소 간식으로 빵/패스트푸드를 가장 즐겨 먹으며, 그 다음이 과자류, 우유 및 발효유의 순이었다. 중학생은 고등학생에 비해 우유 및 발효유를 선호하며, 고등학생은 중학생보다 빵/패스트푸드를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다 (p < 0.01). 간식 섭취 빈도는 중학생과 고등학생 모두 일주일에 $3{\sim}6$번이 가장 많으며, 그 다음이 하루에 1번인 것으로 나타났다. 중학생은 고등학생보다 간식 섭취 빈도가 낮은 경향이었다 (p < 0.05). 간식 섭취 시간은 중학생은 고등학생보다 점심${\sim}$저녁식사 사이에 섭취하는 경우가 많으며, 고등학생은 중학생보다 오전시간 및 밤 9시${\sim}$잠자기 전에 섭취하는 경우가 많았다 (p < 0.001). 2) 조사대상자의 1일 평균 에너지섭취량 및 대부분의 비타민과 무기질섭취량은 이들의 성별과 연령에 대한 KDRI를 충족시키는 수준이어서 양호하였다. 그러나 엽산과 칼슘의 1일 평균 섭취량은 남중생과 여중생 모두 KDRI의 1/2 수준이어서 불량하였다. 1일 평균 나트륨섭취량은 남중생의 경우 KDRI의 300%, 여중생은 240%으로 과다 섭취하였다. 3) 이벤트 데이가 주는 장점에 대해‘우리들만의 행사를 즐기는 것'이라는 응답이 가장 많고, 그 다음이‘친구와 어울릴 수 있는 것'으로 나타났으며, 이에 관한 응답은 중 고생간에 차이가 있었다 (p < 0.01). 이벤트 데이에 선물을 주는 대상자로‘학교 친구'가 가장 많으며, 그 다음이‘이성 친구',‘부모' 등의 순이었다. 중학생은 고등학생에 비해‘학교 친구'에게 선물을 주는 비율이 높으며, 고등학생은 중학생에 비해‘이성 친구'에게 선물을 주는 비율이 높았다 (p < 0.001). 이벤트 데이를 위해 고당류식품을 구입할 때 식품표시와 식품포장상태를 확인을 하지 않는 비율 (61.6%)이 높으며, 이 점에 관해 중 고생간에 차이가 없었다. 또한 이벤트 데이를 준비하기 위해 조사대상자가 고당류식품을 구입할 때 선택 기준을‘예쁜 모양'에 두는 비율이 높으며, 그 다음이‘맛',‘가격'의 순이었다. 이점에서 중학생은 고등학생에 비해‘가격'을 중시하며, 고등학생은 중학생에 비해‘예쁜 모양'을 중시하였다 (p < 0.01). 4) 이벤트 데이에 주고받는 선물로는 사탕, 초콜렛, 빼빼로, 엿 등이 있으며, 친구 생일 (68.4%)과 빼빼로데이 (61.5%)에 참여한 비율이 높았다. 중학생은 고등학생보다 빼빼로데이, 발렌타인데이, 화이트데이에 더 참여하였으며, 고등학생은 중학생에 비해 수능이나 학교 정기시험과 같은 큰 시험일에 더 참여하였다. 5) 간식 종류별 1일 첨가당 섭취 비율을 보면 중 고생 모두 /과자, 비스킷, 빵류, 케이크/으로 부터 첨가당을 많이 섭취하며, 그 다음이 음료수, /양갱, 쵸코렛, 캔디/에 의한 것으로 나타났다. 간식을 통한 1일 평균 총첨가당섭취량은 중학생 $30.5{\pm}23.5g/d$ ($3.0{\sim}137.9\;g/d$), 고등학생 $31.7{\pm}23.2g/d$ ($1.2g{\sim}126.1g/d$)으로 나타나 두군간에 차이가 없었다. 그리고 간식 종류별 1일 첨가당섭취량은 대부분의 간식에서 중 고생간에 차이가 없으나, 요구르트에 의한 것은 중학생이 고등학생보다 높았다 (p < 0.05). 간식에 의한 1일 첨가당 에너지 비율은 중학생 $0.6{\sim}26.1%$ (평균 $6.3{\pm}4.7%$), 고등학생 $0.3{\sim}23.9%$ (평균 $6.3{\pm}4.4%$)로 나타났다. WHO/FAO에서 정한 1일 첨가당 에너지 비율인 10%를 초과한 대상자는 중학생 17.8%, 고등학생 20.9%로 나타나, 고등학생이 중학생보다 간식을 통한 총첨가당 섭취량이 높은 경향이었다. 이상에서 우리나라 청소년들 사이에 고당류식품을 주고 받는 각종 이벤트 문화가 이미 자리 잡았고 간식으로 맛이 달은 식품이 자주 섭취되고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 식품 구입시 영양소 함량 등의 내용면보다는 모양이나 포장과 같은 외형이 중시되고 있는 경향 등에 의해, 우리나라 청소년들이 당류를 과다 섭취할 수 있는 식생활 환경에 노출되어 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 실제로 본 연구에서 일부 청소년의 경우 간식만으로도 1일 첨가당 에너지 비율이 WHO/FAO의 상한선인 10% 이상을 초과하고 있어 청소년의 고당류섭취 현상을 확인해주었다. 따라서 청소년의 고당류 섭취 문제에 대한 현실적인 인식과 함께 당류 섭취 저감화를 위한 영양정책 수립 및 영양교육 실시 등의 실효성 있는 지원이 시급히 이루어져야 하겠다.
