Computational Study on The Effect of Injection Nozzle Hole Exit Angle Variation on Injection Characteristics (분사노즐 출구 각도 변화가 분사특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 계산적 고찰)

  • Emission regulations have been strengthened step by step for marine engines. A noble measure is required both inside and outside of the combustion chamber. The combustion characteristics in cylinder have a very close relationship with the exhaust emission characteristics. Injection valve and nozzle hole geometry is an important factor for combustion. The study to improve the spray characteristics has concentrated on nozzle inlet geometry and nozzle hole diameter, but the exit geometry has not considered. In this study the nozzle exit angle variation was tested. The results show that the angle between $30^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ is more effective than the other cases.

  • Solid Rocket Motor(SRM) has advantages such as - high specific impulse, operational safety and simplicity in design and manufacturing process but thrust magnitude can't be controlled. For studying of pintle nozzle that can control the thrust magnitude of SRM, cold flow test and numerical analysis about needle type pintle shape were performed and results were presented in this paper. As the results of this study, pintle tip's shape and nozzle contour were important design parameters because thrust performance and variable thrust range of pintle nozzle depend on them. Especially, the thrust of needle typed pintle nozzle adopted in this test was predicted 13% higher than normal nozzle without pintle.

  • 우주발사체의 2단에 사용가능하며, 케로신과 액체산소를 추진제로 하는 10톤급 액체로켓엔진 (LRE)에 대해 노즐 설계 변수와 성능 특성과의 관계를 파악하고 노즐 성능의 개선을 위해 노즐 형상에 따른 성능 해석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 10톤급 LRE의 형상을 설계하였으며, 기존의 일차원 성능해석 방법과는 달리, 2차원 유동 해석 결과를 이용한 성능 해석을 수행하기 위해 노즐 성능해석용 코드를 개발하였으며, 액체 산소/메탄 엔진 (LNG 엔진)에 대한 지상 연소시험 결과와 비교, 검토하여 노즐 성능해석 코드를 검증하였다.

Effect of Injection Angle and Length to Diameter Ratios on Drop and Penetration Characteristics in Cross-flow (아름속 횡단 기체 유동장에서 노즐 형상 변화와 분사각 변화가 액적크기와 침투거리에 미치는 영향)

  • The spray characteristics of liquid jet injected into subsonic cross-flow were investigated experimentally. Spray trajectories were captured using CCD camera. Droplet sizes were measured using PDPA and Image Express. The nozzle diameter was 0.5 mm, and its length-to-diameter ratios (L/D) ran$4.11{\times}10^6$ged from 1.0 to 6.0. Experimental results indicate that the breakup point is delayed by increasing gas momentum ratio and the penetration length is decreased by increasing Weber number. At low injection angle(${\theta}$ < $90^{\circ}$), Weber number is dominant parameter for trajectories, but at high injection angle(${\theta}$ > $90^{\circ}$), L/D is dominant parameter for trajectories rather than Weber number.

  • In this study, 3-D nozzle shape and the shape of nozzle at exit plane were adopted as design parameter of 3-D supersonic nozzle and numerical analyses for these parameters have been performed to investigate the flow and performance characteristics for design parameters of the turbine. Firstly, comparing results for nozzle shape, rectangular nozzle had less total pressure loss occurred in axial gap and more power by 1.5% than circular nozzle did. Next, comparing the results for the shape of nozzle at exit plane, it is found that the performance of partial admission turbine was largely depended upon the gap between nozzle wall at exit plane and the hub / tip of rotor blade and the length between nozzles.

  • Converging-diverging 노즐은 시스템 내부 유동에 적용되는 속도면적 법칙을 통해, 아음속 유동을 초음속으로 만드는 장치이며, 항공기 엔진 등에서 추력을 얻기 위해 쓰인다. 이상기체, 등 엔트로피를 가정한 동일 입구 조건에서, 출구로 빠져나오는 유동의 속도는 오직 면적 비에만 관계한다. 그러나 실제현상에서는, 출구에서의 유속이 유동의 압축성 효과 및 벽면에서의 전단력 등으로 인해 노즐 형상마다 상이한 결과를 낳는다. 본 연구에서는 EDISON Simulation을 활용하여 다양한 노즐 형상에 따른 출구에서의 Mach number를 구하고, 각각의 결과로부터 경향성을 찾는다. 또, 계산 결과를 이론식을 통해 도출되는 결과와 비교한다.

  • 본 논문은 유한체적법에 근거한 CFD 분석기법을 이용하여 증기 이젝터의 성능에 대하여 구동노즐의 기하학적 형상에 따른 영향을 조사하였다. 구동노즐의 직경비를 변화시키고 또한 직경비를 일정하게하고 구동 노즐의 위치를 변화시키면서 최적의 조건을 조사하였다. 연구 결과 이젝터의 성능은 구동노즐의 직경과 노즐의 출구 위치에 의해 좌우됨을 확인하였다. 일정 노즐 면적비에 대하여 노즐 목 직경이 감소함에 따라 혼입율이 증가하는 것을 확인하였고 일정 노즐 목 직경에 대하여 면적비의 증가는 혼입율의 감소의 원인이 된다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 혼입율은 노즐의 출구 위치에 따라 영향을 받는다는 것도 확인하였다. 혼입율은 노즐 출구의 위치가 이젝터의 상류로 이동할수록 증가하고 그 위치는 이젝터의 일정단면적부 직경(D)에 대하여 0.4D일 때 최적의 성능을 보였다.

  • Design of a shape transition nozzle is carried out as a part of building a lab-scale supersonic combustion experimental equipment. In order to connect directly the circular shaped vitiation air heater to the square shaped scramjet combustor, area change is evaluated by using the method of characteristics. Shape transition function is introduced to control the transition rate. Boundary layer correction was made through the three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics with the assessment on the several shape transition functions. The shape transition nozzle is proved minimizing the growth of boundary layer at the center of the rectangular nozzle surfaces that caused by the pressure gradient at the corners of the rectangular nozzle and the following recirculation regions.

  • 본 논문은 세정용 노즐의 기하학적인 형상을 변화시킴으로써 물과 공기를 이용한 비데용 분사노즐의 세정효과를 극대화하기 위한 연구이다. 세정효과와 절수를 목적으로 과거 물만을 공급되었던 비데노즐에 공기를 물을 혼합한 혼합류를 주입하면서 형성되는 노즐 내부 유동현상을 상용코드인 CFD-ACE+을 이용하여 가시화하고자 했다.
