Quality of life(QoL) of older cancer patients have not gained enough attention from researchers even when cancer is the number one cause of death of Korean elderly. Therefore, this study aims at understanding the QoL of older cancer patients and factors related to it, applying Taylor(2012)'s Stress-Coping Process model, and by comparing with older chronic disease patients and middle-aged cancer patients. Results indicated that physical health QoL of older cancer patients was the worst and their mental health QoL was similar with middle aged cancer patients. Multi-group analysis of Structural Equation Modeling indicated that the relation between QoL and the stress coping resources was not statistically different from older cancer patients and older chronic disease group, as well older cancer patients and middle-aged cancer patients. Implications of results to improve the QoL of older cancer patients are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to develop a perceived elderly stigma scale for intergenerational research and practice. Although negative stereotypes on elderly population have worsened physical and psychological health of older people, there has been a lack of systematic efforts to measure and monitor stigmatic perception and behavior of younger generation on elderly people. We initially constructed a 34-item perceived elderly stigma scale, by integrating the processes of literature review and exploratory item generation. After confirming the face validity of the scale, a 31-item perceived elderly stigma scale was tested with 252 adults recruited from an online research panel. The result of an exploratory factor analysis suggests a 5-factor solution with 28 items: ability, personality, appearance, authoritarian dependancy, and family-obsession. The convergent/discriminant validity was confirmed by examining its relationships with ageism, elderly discrimination, attitude toward elderly, and respect for elderly. After a series of refinement and empirical tests, the perceived elderly stigma scale would contribute to understanding the current state of elderly discrimination in our society and to develop necessary policies and promotion strategies to eliminate intergenerational conflicts.

자동 음성 인식(Automatic Speech Recognition, ASR)은 컴퓨터가 인간의 음성을 텍스트로 변환하는 기술이다. 자동 음성 인식 시스템은 다양한 응용 분야에서 사용되며, 음성 명령 및 제어, 음성 검색, 텍스트 트랜스크립션, 자동 음성 번역 등 다양한 작업을 목적으로 한다. 자동 음성 인식의 노력에도 불구하고 노인 음성 인식(Elderly Speech Recognition, ESR)에 대한 어려움은 줄어들지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 노인 음성 인식에 콘포머(Conformer)와 피쳐 퓨전 모듈(Features Fusion Module, FFM)기반 노인 음성 인식 모델을 제안한다. 학습, 평가는 VOTE400(Voide Of The Elderly 400 Hours) 데이터셋으로 한다. 본 연구는 그동안 잘 이뤄지지 않았던 콘포머와 퓨전피쳐를 사용해 노인 음성 인식을 위한 딥러닝 모델을 제시하였다는데 큰 의미가 있다. 또한 콘포머 모델보다 높은 수준의 정확도를 보임으로써 노인 음성 인식을 위한 딥러닝 모델 연구에 기여했다.

As the social environment changes, the public library's services for older persons need to be improved from a new perspective. Therefore, this study analyzed the relationships among user satisfaction of major services, overall service satisfaction, service quality components (i.e., service affection, information control, and library as place), and re-use intention according to demographic characteristics by evaluating the public library's services for older persons with applying LibQUAL+ and surveying the user satisfaction. This study proposed to provide appropriate information and service according to the changes of the elderly user environment, develop the library collection according to the diversified information needs by older users, and allocate personnel who could offer a service to older people.

The geometrical characteristics of sculls which are in use for propulsion of Korean traditional row boats were briefly surveyed. A typical dimension of the scull was selected and prototype for test was prepared. Angular displacements and the force components at handle and pivoting point were measured when the scull was operated in moored condition by skilled fisherman. Time histories and trajectories of motion were analyzed with the force generated at the scull blade. It was found out that the thrust of the scull was generated mainly by reaction force. The direction of improvement for better rowing motion could be also suggested. Continued study on this topic in a self-propulsion condition will provide us another interesting informations and prepare a possibility of application in evaluating rowing motion of oar.

Older drivers have an increased risk of accidents due to poor function, but they also develop self-regulation ability to check their own changes. Thus, information on whether the actual elderly driver responds to changes in driving ability and risk may provide a meaningful basis for the clinic and research of the elderly's driving ability assessment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the evaluation of elderly drivers by analyzing the driving risk self-perception characteristics in terms of driving behavior and function with Korean elderly drivers. A self-reporting assessment was conducted on 500 elderly drivers living in the community and the characteristics of driving risk perception were analyzed. As a result, it was confirmed that many elderly drivers are aware of the driving risk when their vision and hearing are impaired or when they find it difficult to adapt to changes in driving conditions. On the other hand, the characteristics of insensitive reactions to changes in medical health conditions, such as drug use or epilepsy, seizures, and loss of consciousness, were identified. The researcher hopes this study will contribute to the safety management of elderly drivers in Korea, where aging is accelerating.

In 2018, 14.3 percent of South Korea's elderly population aged 65 or older entered an aged society and is expected to enter a super-aged society with more than 20 percent of the elderly population around 2025. Older adults often visit different medical institutions to take medicine, which requires medication management, such as interaction between each drug. In this study, we wanted to analyze the U.S. system, which specializes in drug management for the elderly, and Korea's system, which is about to enter a super-aged society, to find a systematic way to manage drugs for the elderly. The method of study was a systematic literature study on elderly drug management in Korea and the United States. Studies have shown that the United States has enacted the Medication Therapy Management (MTM) for the elderly and has been running the Senior Drug Enforcement Program. In Korea, a community care business is underway to manage drugs for senior citizens, but it is analyzed that the elderly need to have a special medicine system for senior citizens to use them more safely.

Microsporidian spores were isolated from yellow-hind winged arctiid, Eilema griseola (Hubner), and cutworm, Agrotis tokionis Butler, and their morphological characteristics and their indectivity to silkworms were investigated. The shape of the microsporidian isolates was oval and the sige of the spore isolated from yellow-hind winged was measured in 2.6$\times$1, 5$\mu$ and that of the isolated from cutworm was measured in 3.7$\times$20.$\mu$. Both the isolated microsporidians showed the infectivity to silkworms, but the isolates did transovarian transmission in silkworms and the silkworm moth infected with the isolate from yellow-hind winged laid eggs irregularly.

After treatment of basidiospores of P. cornucopiae with ultraviolet light, 84 putative mutants from 4671 isolates were obtained. The highest proportion of auxotrophic mutants was obtained from the isolates irradiated to give $0.4{\sim}1.0%$ survival. Fourteen auxotrophs were selected for protoplast fusion and each genetic marker was identified.

It is important to collect and analyze the data from the traffic accident analysis system and the National Statistical Office to reduce the traffic accident rate of the elderly, who are the weakest. In particular, it is more important to analyze the data in areas where the elderly population is large and where accidents occur frequently. This paper visualizes and analyzes the data of elderly traffic accidents that occurred in recent 5 years in the area where many elderly people live in Buyeo-gun. The elderly traffic accident type, accident area, and location data of the elderly can be useful for the improvement measures and related decision making to reduce the elderly traffic accidents.
