Performance Characteristics of Super Compact Condenser in Automotive Air Conditioning System with Alternative Refrigerant (대체냉매용 자동차 에어컨에서 고성능 응축기의 성능특성)

  • 이 글에서는 자동차용 에어컨의 냉매 규제에 따른 대체냉매의 적용시 에어컨의 성능 변화를 이 론적으로 예측하여 보고, 냉매의 대체에 따른 응축기의 변경에 의한 성능 특성을 실험 결과로 설명하였다. 기존의 응축기(SPC)를 SCC로 교체함으로써 대체냉매를 사용하는 시스템에서 열전 달성능의 향상을 꾀할 수 있었다. 자동차용 에어컨에서 냉매의 교체에 따라 변경이 예상되는 부품으로는 응축기를 비롯하여 증발기, 팽창밸브, 수액기건조제, 압력스위치, 배관호스류, 압축기 압축기오일, 팬모터 등이 될 수 있다. 이러한 요소부품의 변경을 위해 연구개발되어야 할 기술 로는 먼저 운전 및 성능을 고려한 각 부품의 설계기술과 제작기술의 개발이 필요하다. 특히 자 동차의 내구연한의 확장에 따른 에어컨의 내구성 및 신뢰성의 문제는 지속적으로 연구되어야 할 것이다.

Simulation of the flow characteristics of R1234yf flowing through capillary tubes (냉매 R1234yf의 모세관내 유동 특성에 관한 해석적 연구)

  • R1234yf has been developed as an alternative refrigerant to R134a, which has been associated with global warming. The capillary tubes as expansion valves control the mass flow rate and balance system pressure in the refrigeration cycle. The present numerical model used the governing equations including the law of conservation of mass, momentum, and energy in a capillary tube. The mass flow rate of R1234yf decreased by 47.0% as the capillary tube length was increased from 1 to 4 m. As the inner diameter of the capillary tubes was changed from 1.3 to 1.7 mm, the mass flow rate of R134a and R1234yf increased by 117.9% and 121.0%, respectively. The mass flow rate of the R134a and R1234yf increased by 28.3% and 29.1% with subcooling increasing from 0 to $7^{\circ}C$. In addition, when the inlet temperature of the capillary tubes was changed from 35 to $60^{\circ}C$, the mass flow rate of R134a and R1234yf increased by 31.0% and 45.4%, respectively.

Estimation of Thermodynamic Properties of Refrigerant Mixtures Using a Modified Carnaha-Starling Equation of State (수정된 Carnahan-Starling 상태방정식을 이용한 혼합냉매의 물성계산)

  • Thermodynamic properties of binary nonazeotropic refrigerant mixtures are estimated by using a modified Carnhan-Starling equation of state. In this study, pure component refrigerants such as R14, R23, R13, R13 B1, R22, R12, R134a, R152a, R142b, RC318, R114, R11, R123 and R113 are chosen and the thermodynamic properties of enthalpy and entropy are calculated in terms of relevant variables. The modified Carnahan-Starling equation of state is compared with the carnahan-Staring-De Santis equation of sate. Results show that the relative errors become slightly smaller with the equation of state proposed in this study. Correlations are obtained for the mixtures of which the vapor liquid equilibruim data are available to us in the literature. Those mixtures are R14/R23, R23/R12, R13/R12, R13/R11, R13B1/R22, R13B1/RC318, R12/RC138, R12/R114 and R12/R11. The binary interaction coefficients are found under the condition of minimizing the pressure deviations at the vapor liquid equiblibrium state and the estimation of the vapor liquid equilibrium for the refrigerant mixtures is done. Pressure-enthalpy and temperature-entropy diagrams are plotted for the refrigerant mixtures of specific composition.

Performance Analysis of the Flooded Refrigerant Evaporators for Large Tonnage Compression-Type Refrigerators Using Alternative Refrigerants (대체냉매를 적용한 대형 압축식 냉동기의 만액식 증발기에 대한 성능 해석)

  • Enhanced tubes are used widely in the evaporators of large tonnage compression-type refrigerators. The evaporators consist of tube bundles, and the refrigerant properties are dependent on the locations in the tube bundles. In particular, the saturation temperatures of low pressure refrigerants (R-11, R-123) are strongly dependent on the locations due to the saturation temperature-pressure curve characteristics. Therefore, for the proper design of evaporators, local property predictions of the refrigerants are necessary. In this study, a computer program that simulates the flooded refrigerant evaporators was developed. The program incorporated theoretical models to predict the refrigerant shell-side boiling heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops across the tube bundle. The program adopted an incremental iterative procedure to perform row-by-row calculations over the specified incremental tube lengths for each water-side pass. The program was used to simulate the flooded refrigerant evaporator of the "T" company operating with R-123, which yielded satisfactory results. The program was extended to predict the performance of the flooded refrigerant evaporator operating with R-11, R-123, and R-134a. The effects of bundle aspect ratio are investigated.

Estimation of Fugitive Emission Factors of HFC-134a from Scrap Cold Drinking Vending Machine at Use- and Disposal-Phase (음료용 폐자동판매기에서의 HFC-134a 사용 및 폐기단계 탈루배출계수 결정에 대한 연구)

  • Little information is available for emission pathway even if HFC-134a that is known as one of the major greenhouse gases has been broadly used in Korea. This paper attempts to clarify the emission characteristics of HFC-134a used for refrigerant of cold drinking vending machines (CDVMs) at the use- and disposal-phase. We measured the residual amounts in the scrap CDVMs of 47 by applying commercial recover for refrigerant. The first-order kinetic model was introduced and the emission rate would be proportional to the remaining quantity of refrigerant. The emission factor at the use-phase was determined indirectly to be $6.9{\pm}0.7$ %/yr within a confidence interval of 95%, using information on residual amount and elapsed operation time at the disposal point. Correspondingly, the annual emission rate of HFC-134a per CDVM was determined to be 11.6 g. The average residual rate of HFC-134a in scrap CDVMs was assessed to be $62.5{\pm}2.2%$, leading to a potential emission amount of 144.8 g per scrap CDVM. The chemical compositions of refrigerants from scrap passenger vehicles are quite similar to those of new refrigerants, suggesting that the refrigerants from scrap passenger vehicles could be reused. During the recovering process of refrigerant, the recovered refrigerant was contaminated by compressor lubricant that accounted for about 30% in weight. It is necessary to separate the refrigerant from the recovered material contaminated by lubricant for recycling and reuse the refrigerant.

Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Charcteristics of Low-Fin Tubes in CFC11, HCFC123 and HCFC141b (CFC11, HCFC123, HCFC141b 풀내에서 낮은 핀관의 비등 열전달특성)

  • Experimental results from nucleate pool boiling heat transfer with various finned tubes in CFC11, HCF123 and HCFC141b are reported. One plain tube and four low fin tubes of various fin densities were tested in an attempt to find out the optimum fin density in the heat flux range of 10-60 kW/m$^{[-992]}$ at near atmospheric pressure. The results indicated that CFC11 showed the highest heat transfer coefficients. Its alternatives, HCFC123 and HCFC141b, showed 3-5% lower heat transfer coefficients than those of CFC11 at the same heat flux. As the fin density increases, so does the heat transfer surface area. Measured heat transfer coefficients, however, do not necessarily always increase as the fin density increases. This unique phenomenon seems to be caused by the coalescence of the bubblers that prevent the cool liquid from entering into the fin valleys. For all the refrigerants tested, the optimum fin density yielding the highest performance was 28 fins per inch confirming the previous results by other researchers.

  • 모세관(capillary tube)은 일정면적식 팽창기구의 대표적인 것으로서 사용역사가 길고, 신뢰성이 높고, 가격이 저럼하므로 냉동공조시스템의 냉매제어장치로 매우 많이 사용되고 있다. 이것은 냉동시스템의 응축기와 증발기 사이에서 유입하는 고압의 액상냉매를 증발기에서 증발하기 쉬운 증발압력까지 압력을 강하시키는 감압팽창작용과 증발기의 증발 용량에 적당한 냉매 질량유량을 공급하는 역할 (이 작용은 냉동시스템의 용량과 작동범위를 결정하는데 매우 중요하다.)을 한다. 이 글에서는 모세관의 형상, 재질 및 그장 . 단점과 작동원리, 내부 유동현상 등 일반적인 사항에 관하여 기술한다.

  • 압축기는 냉동 . 공조 사이클에서 냉매를 압축하여 순환시키는 기능을 한다. 냉동 . 공조 사이클 에서 압축기의 효율 COP는 압축기 모터 입력에 대한 증발기에서의 냉각 능력의 비로서 정의 된다. 따라서 압축기 자체의 특성도 중요하지만 냉매의 열역학적 물성도 중요한 역할을 한다. 압축기의 효율향상문제가 최근에 대두되게 된 것은 첫 째, 몬트리올 협정에 의해 CFC의 사용이 제한되면서 새로 검토하게 된 대체냉매들의 열물성이 CFC보다 불리한 점과 둘째, 에너지 소비를 줄이려는 인식이 환경 측면에서 확산되고 있기 때문이다. 이 글에서는 압축기 효율을 결정하는 주요요소에 대하여 알아보고 최근 국내외에서 이루어지고 있는 효율향상 성과에 대하여 소개하 기로 한다.

AutoML-based Refrigerant Leakage Detection of Air-Conditioning System (머신러닝 기반 실내 냉방기의 냉매누설 검출 방법)

  • 해마다 실내 냉방기 냉매누설 문제가 고질적으로 반복되며 소비자들의 피해도 커져가고 있다. 특히 제조사와 설치 업체가 다른 경우 냉매 누수의 원인이 제품인지, 설치하자인지 책임소재를 두고 갈등을 빚는 경우가 빈번하다. 이에 더 이상 소비자들의 피해를 막기 위해 냉매누설 검출 방안 마련이 필요해 보인다. 본 연구에서는 실내 냉방기 설치 후 냉매누설 검출을 위한 별도의 하드웨어 장치 추가 없이 냉방기의 운영을 위해 설치된 센서들의 값을 이용하여 냉매누설의 유무를 판단할 수 있는 방안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 데이터 분석을 위하여 제조사의 제품 출하 전 현장 테스트 단계에서 측정한 온도값, 전류값, 습도값을 취합하여 데이터 셋을 구축하였다. 이때 자동화된 머신러닝(AutoML)을 이용하여 데이터의 80%를 훈련 데이터로 20%를 테스트 데이터로 사용하여 냉매량 80%는 1, 그 이하는 0으로 훈련시켰다. 구축한 데이터 셋을 이용하여 훈련시킨 결과 99% 정확도로 냉매누설 검출을 분별할 수 있었다. 또한 냉매누설과 관련성이 높은 중요 특징 4개를 추출할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통하여 별도의 하드웨어 장치 추가 없이 소프트웨어적인 접근 방법으로 문제를 해결할 수 있는 feasibility를 확인할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Cooling Heating Performance Experiment by Refrigerant Auto Control of Geothermal Heat Pump (지열히트펌프 냉매자동조절에 따른 냉·난방 성능실험에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents analysis of the experimental data meeting conditions of several applications in real time. The results of this experimental study are as follows: Respectively in cooling and heating performance, a refrigerant charge tank can take automatic control of variation of the refrigerant quantity by controling pressure and temperature of system and outlet water temperature. The COP shows 3.5 in cooling operation and 3.2 in heating operation. The refrigerant quantity increases 0.69 kJ/h. When the outdoor temperature decreases $1^{\circ}C$, Therefore if the temperature become lower from $25^{\circ}C$ to $-16^{\circ}C$, the refrigerant quantity increases about 9.5%. Compared to the normal state experiment results, the COP in automatic control of the refrigerant quantity rises roughly 10%.
