Optimizing the Configurations of Cooling Channels with Low Flow Resistance and Thermal Resistance (냉각유로 형상변화에 따른 유동 및 열저항 최적화 연구)

  • In this study, we investigated the hydrodynamic and thermal performance of constructal architectures on the basis of the mass flow rates for a given pressure drop, and we determined the thermal resistance and flow uniformity. The five flow configuration used in this study were the first construct with optimized hydraulic diameter, the second construct with optimized hydraulic diameter, the first construct with non-optimized hydraulic diameter, second construct with non-optimized hydraulic diameter, and a serpentine configuration. The results of our study suggest that the best fluid-flow structure is the second constructal structure with optimized constructal configurations. We also found that in the case of the optimized structure of cooling plates, the heat transfer was remarkably higher and the pumping power was significantly lower than those of traditional channels.

  • 여기 파워는 고체 레이저 매질 내부에 열을 발생시킨다. 매질 내부에서 발생한 열은 매질 표면을 따라 냉각이 진행되어 매질 내부에서는 불균일한 온도분포가 발생하게 된다. 레이저 매질의 굴절율은 온도에 따라 변하기 때문에 열복굴절 현상과 열렌즈 현상이 일어나 레이저 출력의 손실, 빔질의 저하를 유발하고 열적 스트레스는 매질의 손상 및 모드 동기된 극초단 펄스가 넓어지는 등의 문제를 초래한다. 선형 편광 광선을 이용하는 고체 레이저에서 열복굴절에 의해 레이저 출력이 약 30 %까지 감소하므로 레이저 공진기를 구성하는데 있어서 정량적인 열영향의 해석이 필요하다. 열복굴절에 의해 발생한 손실량은 다음과 같이 표현할 수 있다.   • An analytical, numerical, and experimental comparison of the hydraulic and thermal performance of new vascular channels with semicircular cross sections was conducted. The following conditions were employed in the study: Reynolds number, 30-2000; cooling channels with a volume fraction of the cooling channels, 0.04; and pressure drop, $30-10^5$ Pa. Three flow configurations were considered: first, second, and third constructal structures with diameters optimized for hydraulic operations. To validate the proposed vascular designs by an analytical approach, 3-D numerical analysis was performed. The numerical model was also validated by the experimental data, and the comparison results were in excellent agreement in all cases. The validation study against the experimental data showed that compared to traditional channels, the optimized structure of the cooling plates could significantly enhance heat transfer and decrease pumping power.

  • 높은 투자율과 낮은 손실특성을 지닌(Mn, Zn)ferrite의 전자기적 특성은 소결공정과 소결분위기에 따라 상당히 다양하게 나타난다. 본 연구에서는(Mn, Zn)ferrite를 소결시킬 때의 승온속도와 냉각속도에 따른 초투자율 특성과 미세구조의 관계에 관하여 고찰하였다. 승온속도의 영향을 고찰하기 위하여 spinel ferrites 생성 및 결정입 성장 거동에 가장 중요한 온도인 800~120$0^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 속도를 변화시켰고, 냉각속도 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 1100~80$0^{\circ}C$ 온도범위를 택하였다. 열처리 온도범위 800~120$0^{\circ}C$에서 승온속도가 증가함에따라 초투자율이 7$^{\circ}C$/min까지는 증가했으나 그 이상의 승온속도에서는 오히려 초투자율이 감소하였다. 또한 1100~80$0^{\circ}C$ 온도범위에선 냉각속도가 증가될수록 초투자율이 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 치밀화 및 투자율을 높이기 위하여 첨가된 CaO, SiO2, V2O5의 분포상태를 분석한 결과, 이들 첨가물들은 입자와 입계를 따라 균일하게 분포하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In this study the behavior of engine cooling loss and overall heat transfer coefficient were studied experimentally using naturally aspirated engine and turbo charged engine. Using turbo charging, heat dissipation was increased because of the density of the mixture was increased with increment of inlet air flow rate. Therefore, cooling loss of turbo charged engine is larger than naturally aspirated engine. As taking the measurement of surface temperature of combustion chamber, gas heat transfer coefficient was calculated and found that it has greatly affected to overall heat transfer coefficient. The empirical formula of overall heat transfer coefficient established in order to predict of engine cooling loss and express only as a function of mean piston velocity.

  • 포항풍력에너지연구소에서는 에너지 관리공단의 지원으로 2004년부터 풍력터빈 KBP-2000M에 사용될 발전기를 개발해 오고 있다. KBP-2000M에 사용되는 발전기는 기어비가 24인 기어박스를 가진 가변속도형식의 발전기이다. 발전기의 직경은 1.87m 이고 축 방향의 길이는 1.288m 로 영구자석을 사용하여 여자하는 형식으로 설계되었다. 이러한 설계는 풍력발전기에서 요구하는 주요 요구조건인 고효율, 고 신뢰성을 만족시키기 위해서 매우 중요하다 이 보고에서는 발전기의 물리설계에서 얻어진 사양을 기준으로 하여 열 해석에서 얻어진 열 손실을 이용하여 냉각시스템 설계를 하였으며 펌프 및 라디에이터 선정에 관해서 논의한다.

  • This study provides a brief introduction to application of the computational fluid dynamics to domestic development of combustion devices for liquid-propellant rocket engines. Multi-dimensional flow analysis can provide information on the flow uniformity and pressure loss inside the propellent manifold, from which the design selection can be performed during the conceptual design phase. Multi-disciplinary performance analysis of the thurst chamber can also provide key information on performance-related design issues such as fuel film cooling and thermal barrier coating conditions. Further efforts should be made to develop numerical models to resolve the mixing and combustion characteristics of LOX/kerosene near the injection face plate.

  • For a cooling performance research of the combustor operated in a extreme environment of a high temperature and high pressure, we accomplished a cooling performance analysis. Generally a heat transfer characteristic in cooling passage is known well experimentally and theoretically, however heat flux in the combustion chamber isn't. In this study, fluid flow combined with heat transfer analysis is accomplished about a combustor nozzle. We tried to analyze the cooling performance with a heat transfer characteristic of a gas and coolant side in the view point of quantity on the mass flow rate to be supplied to the cooling channel. And finally, evaluation on the thermal safety of nozzle wall material was accomplished.

  • 본 논문에서는 600kJ급 SMES용 열전도판의 와전류 손실의 해석에 대해서 나타내었다. SMES의 운전 상태는 충전, 운전, 방전의 3가지 구간으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 이 중 방전 구간에서는 SMES 코일에서의 전류 감소에 의해서 와전류 손실이 발생한다. 이때 발생하는 와전류 손실은 짧은 시간동안 발생하지만 그 크기가 크기 때문에, SMES 시스템 설계 시 냉각 시스템의 효율과 안정성을 위해서 반드시 고려되어야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 열 전도판의 와전류 손실을 해석하고, 그 형상의 변화에 따른 와전류 손실 값들을 분석하였다.

Quality Characteristics of White Pan Bread Containing HPMC, MC, and Sodium Alginate (HPMC, MC, sodium alginate 등의 검류가 식빵의 품질 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the quality characteristics of white pan breads containing 0.5% of gums, including HPMC, MC and SA. Moisture content, water activity, cooling loss, bread volume, rheological, and sensory evaluations were performed to examine the bread quality characteristics. Moisture content and water activity were highest in the bread with added HPMC. HPMC showed the smallest cooling loss among the breads compared to the other added gums. The bread with added SA had the thelargest volume at $2,560{\pm}24$ mL. In terms of rheological properties, the hardness of the bread containing HPMC was lowest and the springness of the bread with added SA was the highest. In sensory evaluations, the bread containing HPMC was evaluated as the most preferred product by acquiring the highest scores in internal and external evaluations. Consequently, the bread containing 0.5% SA showed better volume and springiness values. However, the bread containing 0.5% HPMC showed greater moisture content, greater water activity, lower cooling loss, and better sensory evaluation scores. Based on the overall results, HPMC was considered to be the most effective hydrocolloid to increase bread quality.
