LOCA Analysis and Development of a Simple Computer Code for Refill-Phase Analysis (냉각재 상실사고 분석 및 재충진 단계해석용 전산코드 개발)

  • The loss of coolant accident based on a double-ended cold leg break is analyzed with the discharge coefficient (Ca) of 0.4. This analysis covers the whole transient period from the start of depressurization to the complete refilling of the core by using RELAP4/MOD6-EM and RELAP4/ MOD6-HOT CHANNEL for the system thermal-hydraulics and the fuel performance during the blowdown phase respectively, and RELAP4/MOD6-FLOOD and TOODEE2 during the reflood phase. A simple analytical method has been developed to account for the lower plenum filling by approximating steam-water countercurrent flows and superheated wall effects at the downcomer during the refill period. Based on the informations. at the time of EOB (end-of-bypass), the refill duration time and the initial reflooding temperature were estimated and compared with the results from the RELAP4/MOD6, resulting in a good agreement. In addition, some parametric studies on the EOB were performed. The form loss coefficient between upper head and upper downcomer was found to be sensitive to the occurrence of the spurious EOB. Appropriate form loss coefficients should be taken into account to avoid the flow oscillations at the downcomer. The analyses with the six and three volume core nodalizations, respectively, show much similar trends in the system thermal-hydraulic performance, but the former case is recommended to obtain good results.

  • The cold plate used for a CEU(Control Electronics Unit) of an EV(Electric Vehicle) is extremely important since the dissipation of the heat generated from power devices like IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) and diode has a significant effect on the performance as well as the durability of the CED. The cold plate consists of seven power devices, and coolant flows through the passage bonded to a groove of the cold plate. In order to find out heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics, series of numerical analyses for the cold plate with enhanced coolant passages were conducted. Based on results of the numerical analyses, an improved model of the cold plate has been proposed. The experiments under the various conditions have been conducted to compare the performance of the proposed cold plate to the present one. As a result of the numerical analyses together with the experiments, the ideal design of the cold plate could be offered.

탈설계점에서 원심펌프 성능예측 개선을 위한 연구

  • 원자력발전소에는 원자로냉각재펌프와 같이 원심펌프가 많이 쓰이고 대부분의 펌프가 탈설계점에서 운전되고 있다. 이러한 펌프의 성능을 예측하거나 개선하고자 할 때 성능해석코드는 매우 유용하다. 본 연구에서는 기존성능해석프로그램의 문제점인 탈설계점에서의 성능예측 정확도가 많이 떨어지는 점을 개선하고 기존해석방법론을 검토하여 유량변화에 관계없이 일정한 값을 갖는 Slip factor의 문제점을 보안, 유량에 따라 적절히 보상하는 Slip factor를 고려하였고 각종 손실구조 및 적절한 손실모델을 도출하여 새로운 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 이 프로그램을 이용한 계산결과를 실험자료 및 기존의 상용코드 해석결과와 비교한 결과, 극저유량운전범위를 제외하고는 전유량 범위에 걸쳐 매우 양호한 결과를 얻었다.

  • 레이저 매질은 흡수된 여기 파워에 의해 매질 내부에서 열이 발생하고, 매질 표면을 따라 냉각이 진행되어 매질 내부에서는 불균일한 온도분포가 발생하게 된다.$^{[1,2]}$ 레이저 매질의 굴절율은 온도에 따라 변하기 때문에 열복굴절과 열렌즈 현상이 일어나 레이저 출력의 손실 및 빔질의 저하를 초래하게 된다.$^{[1,3]}$ 선형 편광 광선을 이용하는 고체 레이저는 레이저 매질을 브루스터각으로 가공하거나 공진기 내부쉐 브루스터판을 삽입한다. 따라서, 선형 편광 광선은 열복굴절에 의한 위상 지연으로 타원 편광이 되고, 타원 편광 광선의 s-성분은 브루스터판에서 반사를 일으키게 되어 레이저 출력의 손실을 일으키게 되므로 레이저 공진기를 구성하는데 있어서 정량적인 열영향의 해석이 필요하다$^{[1,2,5]}$ 열영향에 의한 위상 지연은 방위각 방향과 반지름 방향으로 각각 $\Delta$ $n_{\Phi}$, $\Delta$ $n_{r}$ 만큼 생긴 굴절율의 차이로 발생하고 다음과 같이 표현할 수 있다.$^{[1]}$ (중략)이 표현할 수 있다.$^{[1]}$ (중략)

  • 본 논문에서는 높은 스위칭 주파수에서의 SiC HEMT의 병렬 운전을 다룬다. 이를 위해 300 V/600 A SiC HEMT을 이용한 병렬 풀브릿지 시스템을 설계하고 검증한다. 병렬 운전시 발생하는 전류 불균형을 제한하기 위해 병렬 소자간 인덕턴스를 설계한다. 또한 최대 순시 손실을 계산하여 이를 방열할 수 있는 냉각 시스템을 구성한다. 더블 펄스 시험을 통해 설계된 시스템의 동적(dynamic) 전류 균형과 정적(static) 전류 균형을 평가한다. 60 kHz 스위칭 주파수에서의 500 Hz 600 A 교류 제어 실험을 통해 제어 성능과 순시 손실을 검증한다.

  • In case of the silicon solar panel being used in Korea, the production specification is designed to give maximum output at the limit of -0.5 to 0.05℃, so the output of 0.45~0.55% decreases when the temperature rises by 1℃. As a result, the photovoltaic power generation is reduced according to the surface temperature rise of the photovoltaic module due to the characteristics of the solar cell. The decrease in output reduces the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation, and if the efficiency decreases, the result is that the profit of electricity sales according to the amount of photovoltaic power generation decreases. Therefore, this paper proposes a method of spraying cooling air to the lower (or surrounding) of the photovoltaic module when it is identified above the set temperature by the temperature detection sensor. In addition, the amount of power generated is increased by utilizing the lost solar energy, and by applying cooling function through cooling air, the power generation can be further increased.

  • In this paper, we studied on the thermal design of the active antenna system for stable performance considering thermal reliability. The active antenna has high performance and heat flux elements in T/R modules. Thermal heating of elements in T/R modules has to be dissipated effectively and the antenna has to be operated over the range of suggested temperature by the thermal design. T/R modules of high heat flux in the active antenna can be dissipated effectively by liquid cooling. In this study, we studied on the thermal design including the liquid cooling system to optimize the thermal performance of the active antenna. And the thermal design was verified by numerical analysis.

  • For a cooling performance research of the combustor operated in a extreme environment of a high temperature and high pressure, we accomplished a cooling performance analysis. Generally a heat transfer characteristic in cooling passage is known well experimentally and theoretically, however heat flux in the combustion chamber isn't. In this study, fluid flow combined with heat transfer and thermal structural analysis is accomplished about a combustor nozzle. We tried to analyze the cooling performance with a heat transfer characteristic of a gas and coolant side in the view point of quantity on the mass flow rate to be supplied to the cooling channel. And finally, evaluation on the thermal and structural safety of nozzle wall material was accomplished.
