Effects of Cooling on Repeated Muscle Contractions and Tendon Structures in Human (냉각이 반복된 근수축과 사람의 건 구조에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study compared the effects of non-cold and cold conditions on the viscoelastic properties of tendon structures in vivo. Methods: Seven male subjects perfomed plantar flesion exercise with maximal isokinetic voluntary contraction, which consisted of muscle contraction for 6 see and relaxation for 60 secs, 10 times for 1 set, Totally 10 sets were repeated. Before and after each task, the elongation of the tendon and aponeurosis of the medial gastrocnemius muscle (MG) was directly measured by ultrasonography. (The relationship between the estimated tendon force and tendon elongation.) Tendon cross-sectional area and ankle joint moment arm were obtained from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The tendon force was calculated from the joint moments and the tendon moment arm and stress was obtained by dividing force by cross-sectional areas (CSA). The strain was measured from the displacements normalized to tendon length. Results: After cooling, the tendon force was larger in cold than non-cold. The value of the tendon stiffness of MVC were significantly higher under the cold condition than under the non-cold condition. The maximal strain and stress of $7.4{\pm}0.7%$ and $36.4{\pm}1.8$ MPa in non-cold and $7.8{\pm}8.5%,\;31.8{\pm}1.1$ MPa in cold (P<0.05). Conclusion: This study shows for the first time that the muscle endurance in cooling increases the stiffness and Young's modulus of human tendons. The improvement in muscle endurance with cooling was directly related to muscle and tendon.

  • 일잔적으로 세라믹재료는 강도, 내식성, 내열성, 내마모성의 성질 등이 우수하여 신소재로서의 응용폭이 점점 확대되고 있으나, 가공성이 난삭재로 피삭성의 개발이 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 가공 중 절삭열을 억제시키는 방안으로 극저온 내부 냉각공구시스템을 제작하고, 냉매로 액화질소를 순환 공급하면서 이때 난삭재인 세라믹 가공의 피삭성 향상의 가능성을 실험적으로 검토하였다.

  • 자성유체에 60Hz의 교류자기장을 인가할 때 발생되는 냉각효과를 해석하기 위해 유한요소법을 결합하였다. 열원으로는 전류가 코일에 흐를 때 생성되는 줄열과 닐운동과 브라운운동으로 야기되는 전력손실에 의한 발열이 있다. 교류자기장은 주파수가 낮기 때문에 줄열이 주요한 열원이 된다. 그러므로 코일에서 자성유체로 일어나는 열전달과 자연대류현상은 코일의 표면에서 일어난다. 자연대류현상을 해석하기 위해서는 자성유체의 부력밀도를 고려해야 한다. 부가적으로 자계의 세기와 온도에 관한 함수인 자화와 자기체적력밀도로 인해 자기대류현상과 같은 강제대류가 일어난다. 이러한 두 가지 대류현상으로 인해 교류자기장을 인가한 자성유체에서 냉각효과가 일어난다. 자기체적력밀도는 유한요소법으로 보간된 가상공극개념을 이용하여 켈빈전자기력밀도를 이끌어 낸 후 이를 수치적으로 이용하여 구하였다. 랑제방함수는 켈빈전자기력밀도와 전력손실을 계산하는데 필요한 비선형 자화율을 고려하기 위해 사용하였다.

  • The size distributions of electrospray droplets from the Taylor cone in cone-jet mode are directly measured by using a freezing method and a transmission electron microscope (TEM) image processing technique. These results are compared with the data obtained by an aerodynamic size spectrometer (TSI Aerosizer DSP). The use of glycerol seeded with NaI and a freezing method make it possible to sample droplets with their original sizes preserved. Since pictures of droplets are taken with TEM with very low vapor pressure of the solution, evaporation is suppressed by freezing. For liquid flow rates below 1 nl/sec, the measured droplet diameters by the TEM image processing technique and the aerosizer are in the range of 0.25 to $0.32{\mu}m$ and 0.30 to $0.40{\mu}m$, respectively. Comparing the TEM data with the aerosizer measurements, it has been revealed that the TEM image processing technique can afford more accurate values of droplet size distributions in the submicron range of 0.1 to $0.4{\mu}m$.

  • In this paper, heat/mass transfer characteristics on a film cooled stationary rotor blade are investigated using the naphthalene sublimation method. A row-speed annular wind tunnel with a single annular turbine stage is used. Three rows of film cooling holes are machined on the leading edge of the test blade. Detailed heat/mass transfer distributions are measured with changing the blowing rate from 1.0 to 2.0. As the blowing ratio increases, overall heat/mass transfer increases and the lower peak formed on the pressure side were disappeared.

쌍롤 박판주조법으로 제조된 고합금계 알루미늄 합금의 미세조직 및 기계적 특성

  • 최근 환경과 에너지에 대한 관심이 증대됨에 따라 차체의 경량화를 위한 고합금계 알루미늄 합금의 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 특히 5000계 알루미늄 합금은 비중이 낮을 뿐만 아니라 Mg의 첨가에 의해 높은 강도 및 성형성을 얻을 수 있기 때문에 자동차용 판재로 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 현재 사용되는 대부분의 알루미늄 합금판재는 DC주조법과 추가적인 압연공정으로 제조되기 때문에 경제성 문제와 낮은 냉각속도로 인한 금속학적인 문제를 갖는다. 그러나 DC주조법과는 달리 쌍롤 박판주조법은 용탕으로부터 직접 판재를 제조하기 때문에 경제적이며 효율적인 주조공정이다. 또한 냉각속도가 빠르기 때문에 비교적 주조편석이 적고 전반적인 미세조직이 균일하여 고합금계 알루미늄 합금 판재제조에 매우 유용하게 응용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 쌍롤 박판주조법으로 고합금계 알루미늄 합금 판재를제조하고, 제조된 합금의 열간압연 및 열처리 조건에 따른 기계적 특성을 비교 및 평가하였다. 또한 미세조직 및 집합조직을 분석함으로써 고합금계 알루미늄 합금 판재의 실용화 가능성을 평가하였다.

  • The calculation model for heat transfer analysis of rocket engine combustion chamber considering film-cooling has been established. Convective, radiative heat transfers and film-cooling effect in combustion chamber were evaluated using empirical equations especially for rocket engine combustors, and for heat transfer outward from chamber wall general convective and radiative equations were applied. Structural grid has been generated inside chamber wall for FVM calculations, and transient thermal analyses were carried out by time-marching techniques. LOx/kerosene rocket engine with chamber pressure of 50 bar has been analysed, and it is shown that, in that case, the film-cooling less than 4% remarkably contributes to reduce wall temperature, but the effect of the effect of film-cooling more than about 4% is not significantly increased.

  • The friction and deformation of a tire causes heat generation, which causes a temperature rise of the tire. This temperature rise can be a source of tire damage. The object of this study is to investigate the cooling effect of the application of a fin to the tire side to suppress the temperature rise. Eight different fin shapes were considered, and the sidewall surface temperature reduction owing to the cooling fin shape was numerically analyzed. In addition, the flow characteristics and heat transfer characteristics of the vortex of the pin rear were compared.
