A Study on the PMMA Lens Fabrication for Surgical Light Based on Injection Molding Convergence Process (사출성형 융합공정 기반 수술실 무영등용 PMMA 렌즈 제작에 관한 연구)

  • We studied on the injection molding conditions of defect-free PMMA lens for surgical light. When the heat temperature of mold is low, more imperfect molding or weldlines and flow marks have showed. A defective lens depends on low fluidity of the PMMA resin and its temperature is high, a flexural strain has occurred. The longer cooling time of specimens, the more cracks have occurred due to resin crystallization. In this study, optimal molding conditions for defect-free PMMA lens is as follows. The heat temperature of core mold was 110 [$^{\circ}C$] and also the cooling time was 25 [sec]. PMMA materials can realized low expense to produce plastic optical lens and applications.

Fabrication of Full-Scale Combustion Chamber of Liquid Rocket Engine for Ground Hot Firing Tests (실물형 고압 연소기의 연소시험 검증용 제작)

  • This paper presents a fabrication of a full-stale combustion chamber of a liquid rocket engine for a ground hot firing test. Engine drawings for manufacturing were prepared after conceptual and detail designs. The combustor is composed of a head and a chamber. SUS316L is used for materials of the head because of the good quality in low temperature. Inner materials of the ablative cooling chamber is silica/phenolic and outer case materials is the SUS316L. Materials of the regenerative cooling chamber are C18200 and SUS316L. After lathe, general milling and MCT machinings, components were finished by electrolytic polishing. A brazing method was applied for bonding the injectors and the injector plate, the regenerative cooling chamber because of structure configurations.

  • 압축기의 종류는 크게 dynamic type과 positive displacement type으로 우선 나눌 수 있다. 전자는 제트엔진에 사용되는 압축기에서 보는 바와 같이 기체의 속도를 변화시켜 동압을 정압으로 바꾸어 압력을 얻는 경우이다. 후자는 기체를 둘러싼 체적을 줄여서 압력을 얻는데 가전제품에 쓰이는 냉각용 압축기의 대부분의 종류가 이에 해당된다. 압축 기체의 종류에 따라 공기 압축기, 가스 압축기, 냉각용 압축기로도 나눌 수 있겠다. 냉각용 압축기는 다시 여러 가지 방법으로 분류할 수 있겠지만, 구동 모타의 용량이나 냉각 용량에 따라, 대형, 소형으로 분류하거나, 압축기를 둘러싼 셀의 구조에 따라 밀폐형과 반 밀폐형으로 나눌 수 있다. 밀폐형은 냉매를 반 영구적으로 보충할 필요가 없도록 용접형 셀을 가진 구조로 압축기를 다시 열어서 보수할 수가 없다. 냉장고나 냉방기 같은 가전 제품에 쓰이는 압축기는 대부분 소형 밀폐형이 되겠다. 산업용의 중,대형 압축기는 보수의 목적으로, 자동차 냉방용 압축기는 동력이 엔진축에서 공급되는 구조 상의 이유로 반 밀폐형이 채택된다. 보수가 사실상 불가능한 밀폐형의 구조 상 소형 냉장용 압축기는 거의 무한 수명을 감안한 설계를 요하게 되고, 이것이 압축기의 보수적인 설계 및 개발 성향에 어느 정도 영향을 주었다고 볼 수 있다. 이런 소형 밀폐형 압축기(positive displacement, fractional horsepower, hermetic compressor)에 관한 연구의 소개가 이 글의 주 관심이 되겠다. 압력을 얻기 위해 체적을 변화시키는 mechanism도 여러 가지가 있는 바, 왕복동식 피스톤(reciprocating piston) 압축기가 가장 오랫동안 사용되어 온 구조이다. 회전식으로 압축을 얻는 방식으로는 로타리 피스톤식, 스크류식, 스크롤식 압축기가 있다. 로타리 피스톤(rotary piston)식 압축기는 약 20여년 전 부터 냉방용 압축기에서부터 널리 쓰이게 되었다. 약 10여년전부터 상용화 된 스크롤(scroll) 형 압축기도 현재 상대적으로 용량이 큰 가정용 냉방기를 중심으로 많이 쓰이고 있다. 스크류형 압축기는 보통 중대형 상업용에 주로 쓰인다.

  • For a cooling performance research of the combustor operated in a extreme environment of a high temperature and high pressure, we accomplished a cooling performance analysis. Generally a heat transfer characteristic in cooling passage is known well experimentally and theoretically, however heat flux in the combustion chamber isn't. In this study, fluid flow combined with heat transfer and thermal structural analysis is accomplished about a combustor nozzle. We tried to analyze the cooling performance with a heat transfer characteristic of a gas and coolant side in the view point of quantity on the mass flow rate to be supplied to the cooling channel. And finally, evaluation on the thermal and structural safety of nozzle wall material was accomplished.

  • As hypersonic flight speeds and engines efficiencies increase, heat loads on an aircraft and it's engine increase. Because the temperature of the air flow is too high to cool the aircraft structure at hypersonic flight speeds, it is essential to use the aircraft fuel as the primary coolant. Endothermic fuels are liquid hydrocarbon aircraft fuels which are able to absorb the heat loads by undergoing endothermic reactions, such as thermal and catalytic cracking. The endothermic reactions are improved by catalysts which change the extent of reaction and product distribution. At high temperature, liquid hydrocarbons would lead to coke formation that can reduce the effectiveness of heat exchanger and cause rapid degradation of the catalyst, thus endothermic capacity of endothermic fuels is limited to the temperature at which coke doesn't form. In this study, the essential cooling technologies by applying endothermic fuels and the properties of the endothermic fuels are described.

수용성 절삭유 상태의 모니터링에 관한 연구

  • 다양한 기계적인 제거 가공 공정에 있어서 발생되는 열의 냉각과 치핑 과정시의 원활한 윤활 및 칩의 효율적인 배출 작용 등을 위하여 필수적으로 적용되는 절삭유와 관련한 분야에 있어서 최근에 환경성과 경제성을 고려한 청정 생산 기술의 도입이 전 세계적으로 활성화되면서 사용량을 억제하거나 대체화하는 방식과 폐절삭유의 발생을 저감화하기 위한 수명 향상 방식 등을 위한 관련 연구들이 경쟁적으로 진행되고 있다. 그러나 현재까지 불가피하게 수용성 절삭유를 일반적으로 사용하는 국내 중소기업 형태의 영세한 생산 제조 작업 현장에 있어서는 비산, 분무되는 절삭유에 의하여 작업 환경이악화될 뿐만 아니라 점진적으로 부패되어 악취가 발생됨으로써 작업자가 기피하거나 산업 재해의 원인으로서도 작용되므로 우선적으로 절삭유의 사용량을 억제하기 위하여 최소한의 적정량만을 적용할 수 있는 기법을 채택하거나 절삭유의 수명을 극대화하기 위하여 적정한 상태를 유지할 수 있는 방식이 요구된다.(중략)

DEVELOPMENT OF CCD IMAGING SYSTEM USING THERMOELECTRIC COOLING METHOD (열전 냉각방식을 이용한 극미광 영상장비 개발)

  • We developed low light CCD imaging system using thermoelectric cooling method collaboration with a company to design a commercial model. It consists of Kodak KAF-0401E(768$\times$512 pixels) CCD chip, thermoelectric module manufactured by Thermotek. This TEC system can reach an operative temperature of $-25^{\circ}C$. We employed an Uniblitz VS25s shutter and it has capability a minimum exposure time 80ms. The system components are an interface card using a Korea Astronomy Observatory (hereafter KAO) ISA bus controller, image acquisition with AD9816 chip, that is 12bit video processor. The performance test with this imaging system showed good operation within the initial specification of our design. It shows a dark current less than 0.4e-/pixel/sec at a temperature of $-10^{\circ}C$, a linearity 99.9$\pm$0.1%, gain 4.24e-/adu, and system noise is 25.3e-(rms). For low temperature CCD operation, we designed a TEC, which uses a one-stage peltier module and forced air heat exchanger. This TEC imaging system enables accurate photometry($\pm$0.01mag) even though the CCD is not at 'conventional' cryogenic temperatures(140k). The system can be a useful instrument for any other imaging applications. Finally, with this system, we obtained several images of astronomical objects for system performance tests.

Development of simulation method for heating line optimization of E-Mold by using commercial CAE softwares (전산모사 프로그램을 이용한 E-MOLD의 Heating Line 배치의 최적화 설계에 관한 연구)

  • To produce plastic parts that have fine pattern through conventional injection molding, a lot of difficulties follow. Therefore, rapid heating and cooling methods are good candidates for manufacturing injection-molded parts with micro/nano patterns. In this study, we adopted the E-Mold patent technology. The mold for E-Mold technology has a separate heated core with micro heaters. It is very important to optimize the lay-out of the heaters in heated core because it influences both control and distribution of mold temperature. We developed a optimization method of heating line lay-out by using commercial softwares and compared the output with the experimental results. We used Pro-Engineer Wildfire 2.0 for the mold design, ICEMCFD for mesh generation, and FLUENT for heat transfer simulation. The simulation results showed the temperature profile from $60^{\circ}C$ to $120^{\circ}C$ or $180^{\circ}C$ during heating and cooling process which were compared with the injection molding experiments. We concluded that the simulation could well explain the experimental results. It was shown that the E-Mold optimization design for heater lay-out could be available through the simulation.

Development of High Efficiency Dehumidifiers in low temperature (저온에서 고효율 제습기 개발)

  • Various applications require dry air at low temperature, such automation equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, chemical production lines, and coating processes for the shipbuilding industry. Four evaporators for low temperature (below $0^{\circ}C$) were installed for a dehumidification system. Moist air is cooled sequentially over three evaporators. The first evaporator has an evaporation temperature of $13^{\circ}C$, that of the second evaporator is $5^{\circ}C$, and that of the third evaporator is maintained at $-1.3^{\circ}C$. In the fourth evaporator implantation thereby the moisture contained in the moisture air. A pressure regulator (CPCE 12) is used at this point and is defrosted when the vapor pressure is below a set value. The non-implantation moisture of the air is a heating system that uses the waste heat of a condenser with high temperature. It develops the cooling type's dehumidifier, which is important equipment that prevents the destruction of protein and measures the temperature and humidity at each interval by changing the front air velocity from 1.0 m/s to 4.0 m/s. The cooling capacity was also calculated. The greatest cooling capacity was 1.77 kcal/h for a front air velocity of 2.0 m/s

Effects of Intake Gas Mixture Cooling on Enhancement of The Maximum Brake Power in a 2.4 L Hydrogen Spark-ignition Engine (수소 내연기관의 흡기 냉각 방법에 따른 최고 출력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Since hydrogen has the lower minimum ignition energy than that of gasoline, hydrogen could be also appropriate for the IC engine systems. However, due to the low ignition energy, there might be a 'back-fire' and 'pre-ignition' problems with hydrogen SI(Spark-ignition) combustion. In this research, cooling effects of intake gas mixture on the improvement of the maximum power output were evaluated in a 2.4 L SI engine. There were two ways to cool intake gas mixtures. The first one was cooling intake fresh air by adjusting inter-cooler system after turbocharger. The other one was cooling hydrogen fuel before supplying by using heat ex-changer. Cooling hydrogen was performed under natural aspired condition. The result showed that cooling fresh air from 40 ℃ to 20~30 ℃ improved the maximum brake power up to 6.5~8.6 % and cooling hydrogen fuel as -6 ℃ enhanced the maximum brake power likewise.
