The Relationship between Social Support and Infertility Stress in Infertile Men (불임 남성의 사회적 지지와 불임 스트레스간의 관계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between social support and infertility stress in infertile men. Method: Participants were 120 infertile men in a hospital located S city Korea. The structured questionnaire included social support scale, fertility problem inventory scale. The data were examined using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation with SPSS 25.0. Results: Social support was significantly correlated with infertility stress(r=-.32, p=<.001). Conclusion: Based on this study, infertility stress could be decreased by social support improvement in infertile men. Theses results suggests that infertile men need nursing intervention to minimize infertility stress by promoting social support.

  • It is believed that genetic defects make an important contribution to male infertility. Since spermatogenesis is such a complex process, it seems inevitable that many genes are involved in controlling the entire development of germ cells. Genes for infertility, however, are considered to be only those which are defected in the reproduction ability, but normal in other functions. Microdeletions of the Y chromosome have been observed frequently in infertile males. At least two genes, RBM and DAZ, are known to present in the loci where microdeletions occur frequently. A number of autosomal genes were also considered as candidates of infertility genes, based on phenotypes of knockout mice that were deficient of these genes.

  • gel electrophoresis (CGE) with poly(ethylene oxide) has been applied to the measurement of CAG repeat number in Androgen receptor (AR) gene related to male infertility. Non-linear regression analysis was performed using the standard X174 RF/Hae III, 100bp step ladder DNA in order to investigate the exact number of CAG repeat. For 79 Korean infertile males and 89 controls, CAG repeats at exon 1 in AR gene was compared and analyzed by CGE. It turned out that CAG repeat numbers were 24.972.6 range, 17-29) for the infertile male, and 23.992.4 range, 18-29) for the control, respectively. P value (0.018) was less then 0.05, meaning that the result was statistically meaningful.

  • 비뇨기과학중 남성과학이 전공인 서울대병원 김수웅 교수는 남성 불임과 발기부전의 원인규명에 대한 연구를 집중적으로 진행하고 있다. 그동안 원인을 알 수 없는 무정자증과 감정자증의 환자들에서 Y염색체에 존재하는 남성 불임유전자의 유전자 결실이 미치는 영향 등을 연구해 큰 성과를 거두고 있다. 또 연구가 취약했던 조루증 원인규명도 집중 연구중이다.

  • In the azoospermic patients, there are many of undiagnosed factors related to genetic bases. Among them, Klinefelter's syndrome (47,XXY; KS) and Y-chromosomal microdeletion with normal karyotype(46,XY; YMNK) are the most frequent causes of male infertility. This research focused on the comparative analysis of YMNK (n = 66) and K5 (n = 30) patients suffered from male infertility in Korean population. We used the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) approach including 19 pairs of sequence-tagged site (STS) primers for detecting the Y-chromosomal microdeletion on AZFa, b, c regions, indicating that Y chromosomal microdeletions were almost evenly occurred in AZF all regions in Korean population. Comparative analysis indicated that 34.9% YMNK and 73.4% KS patients harbored the microdeleted Y-chromosome. It seems to be high instability of Y-chromosome in KS patients than that of YMNK infertility patients. Taken together, genome instability containing microdeletion could bring male infertility with the disturbance of normal spermatogenesis.

  • 위에서 살펴본 바와 같이 준임상적 정계정맥류이 존재가 불임 환자에서 가지는 중요성에 관하여는 아직 논란이 많다. 하지만 실제적인 정계정맥류의 크기와 신체검사에서 촉진되는 정계정맥류의 크기가 항상 일치하지는 않는다는 사실과 준임상적인 정계정맥류라 할지라도 고환에 악영향을 끼칠 수 있는 잠재력이 있음을 고려할 때, 준임상적 정계정맥류의 임상적 중요성을 결코 간과해서는 안 될 것이다. 비록 현재는 불임의 치료로서 준임상적 정계정맥류의 제거술의 잇점이 뚜렷이 규명되지는 않았지만, 불임을 주소로 내원한 환자에 있어 준임상적 정계정맥류의 존재는 항상 염두에 두어야 할 사항이라 생각된다. 또한 앞으로도 준임상적 정계정맥류의 치료 효과 및 필요성에 관하여는 잘 계획된 많은 연구들이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
