Low Power On-channel Repeater for Terrestrial DTV Broadcasting Services(I) : Technical Regulations (지상파방송 난시청 해소를 위한 특정소출력 DTV 중계기(I): 기술기준연구)

  • In this paper, worldwide standards and regulations on broadcasting services are reviewed to improve the fringe area of terrestrial DTV broadcasting services. Using these results, in-band/out-of-band emission requirements of low power DTV repeater with 10mW/MHz radiating power are proposed, and experimentally evaluated and verified. Using the proposed regulations, compact and cost-effective DTV repeater can be easily implemented to broaden DTV broadcasting coverage and to improve small/medium size DTV fringe areas.

  • In this paper, low power on-channel DTV repeater is implemented to improve the fringe area of terrestrial DTV broadcasting services and its effectiveness is verified by field trials. System requirements of on-channel repeater are drive from received signal model and gain transfer model. Implemented on-channel DTV repeater has coverage of about 1km with 10mW/MHz output power. Experimental results show that implemented system can effectively improve small/medium size DTV fringe areas in Korea.

  • In this paper, in order to relieve the area of terrestrial DTV broadcasting, we watch the same channel DTV Repeater output ICS using nano field test and analysis of effect was proven. Interspersed throughout the blanket area(natural) and buildings(artificially) 7 established the field selected as the test area, and each station(KBS1, KBS2, MBC, SBS, EBS) Extremely Low Power ICS Repeater the same channel of the receiving field strength and after install, SNR(Signal to Noise Ratios) verify the equipment to measure the efficacy and minimal output for future ICS type nav should you wish to provide a research-based for the spread.

A test of Visual Acuity and Refractive error to Kindergarten's Children (유치원 어린이 나안시력과 굴절이상 측정)

  • Unaided visual acuity was tested by ACP-7 TOPCON chart projector on 376 kindergarteners and objective refraction error was measured by NIDEK ARK-700A auto-refractokeratometer on 554 eyes aged 3 to 5. The results were as follows ; The average unaided visual acuity of children aged 3 was 0.82, aged 4 was 0.90 and aged 5 was 0.92 respectively theerfore children s visual acuity has been gradually developed with their age. The kind of refractive error was 1% for hyperopia, 14% for hyperopic astigmatism, 3% for myopia, 50% for myopic astigmatism, 18% for mixed astigmatism and 14% for emmetropia respectively.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate sole effect of therapy of spectacles correction on the refractive amblyopia. Spectacles were prescribed to give the same effect as the occlusion therapy undercorrecting in the case of hyperopia, and effectiveness of the therapy was compared with occlusion therapy without additional prescription. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. The higher anisometropic power was the lower initial visual acuity was. 2. Anisometropic power did not influence final visual acuity. 3. The latter beginning time of therapy was the higher astigmatism was. 4. Therapy of spectacles correction on the hyperopic amblyopia was quite effective.

The Comparative Research of Dominant Eye and Non-dominant Eye by Ages (연령대별 우세안과 비우세안의 비교 연구)

  • Purpose: When we look at the object, we used the dominant eye mainly. For this reason, a prescription of the dominant eye is an important factor for glasses and contact lenses. This study evaluated visual acuity differences between dominant and nondominant eyes through analyzing refractive power changes in both eyes by the ages. Methods: This study was performed to investigate the relationship between refractive error and dominant eye which had the superiority in the function of binocular. 186 subjects without ocular disease were examined on the dominant eye. The dominant eye was examined by the Hole-in-the-card test. For the consistency of the measurements, we tested refractive power in three times by the same person. Results: Using SPSS, the relationship between vision and the dominant eye was analyzed. 135 people of the whole subjects have the dominant eye on right. The Number of the non-dominant eye is 51. We were divided into 3 types, the group under the age of 10 that begins to expose environment factor affect on vision (the average age $8.8{\pm}1.18$) and the age group of 10 to 20 that begins to change refractive power in earnest (the average age $14.1{\pm}2.58$) and the group after the age 20 that began to stabilize vision (the average age $51.8{\pm}17.51$). The visual acuity of dominant eye was higher than non-dominant eye in all age groups. Nevertheless, these results were not statistically significant. Mean astigmatism of dominant eye was smaller than the non-dominant eye, and this is significant, statistically (p=0.017<0.05). Conclusions: It is expected that the balanced eye with a lower level of astigmatism has a more possibility become a dominant eye.

The Effect of Myopic Degree on the Change of Higher-order Aberrations Induced by Aging (근시도가 나이에 따라 유발되는 고위수차의 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The present study was aimed to investigate the change of higher-order aberrations induced by aging and the effect of myopic degree on the correlation between age and higher-order aberrations. Methods: The higher-order aberrations in 931 eyes aged from 20 to 60 were measured by using a LADARWave device employing Hartmann-Shack system to analyze the effect of myopic degree measured by manifest refraction test on higher-order aberrations. Results: Coma and vertical coma aberrations were significantly decreased by the increase of myopic degree while vertical astigmatic aberration was significantly increased. The correlations of age and coma, vertical coma, spherical, vertical trefoil, horizontal trefoil, vertical astigmatic, horizontal astigmatic and vertical tetrafoil aberrations depended on the myopic degree, except for horizontal coma and horizontal tetrafoil aberrations. Conclusions: It is suggested to consider the myopic degree for the refractive correction including the laser surgery based on the present result that higher-order aberrations are affected by the myopic degree.

A Study of Eye Refractive Error for High School Students in Tong-Du-Cheon Area ;(II) (동두천지역 고등학생의 안굴절상태 조사 및 연구 II)

  • Until now, the study of eye refractive error examination for high school students are a few report that in Korea. In particular, there is few report about the visual power for same group during several years. We compared the study of refractive error done this year with that reported three years ago at the same high school. From the these data, the distribution of ammetropia was investigated. The study of refractive error for high school students was also compared with those reported before for the Adults and the middle school student. When the visual power is refered to spherical equivalent, the 36% of the whole students examined above had emmetropia and the other part of them fumed out to be ammetropia which is classify to 60.6% belonged to myopia and 4.4% belonged to hyperpia. The ratio of myopia for this year students is increased in comparision with the students in 1995. The ratio of emmetropia for this year students is 7.4% higher, and the ratio of myopia for this year students is 4% higher, but the ratio of hyperopia is very lower than that for the adults in 1997. In the kind of refractive error, it is classified that a simple myopia is shown to highest ratio as a 28.6% of 1212 eyes examined, a compound myopic astigmatism to the next high ratio as a 22.4%, a simple myopic astigmatism as 14.4%, a simple hyperopic astigmatism as 3.1%, a mixed astigmatism as a 1.7%, a simple astigmatism as 1.2%, a compound hyperopic astigmatism as 1.2%, respectively. The percentage of an astigmatism is a 76.7% of total eyes examined if Cyl-0.25 Dptr is included to an astigmatism. On the other hand, The percentage of an astigmatism is a 45.6% of total eyes examined if Cyl-0.25 Dptr is excluded to an astigmatism. In the kind of astigmatism, the number of students had an astigmatism with the rule is about 4.5 times than that of astigmatism against the rule. From the result of comparision the right eye with the left eye, the right eye of the students had more a myopic refractive error than the left eye, which is same as adults' case, there is no difference in a refractive error between the boy students and the girl students.
