  • This paper attempts to analyze the role of Nigeria's current President Major (Rtd) Mahammudu Buhari and the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan in dealing with the Boko Haram Insurgency in Nigeria. Nigeria has not been without its fair share of conflict. In fact, no decade of post-Independent Nigeria has been conflict free. With several coups, general strikes and a civil war, Nigerians have had to experience some of the most sordid tragedies arising from difference of opinions and distrust. It is interesting to mention that the conflict in Nigeria has not received the needed attention as it were. The leadership of Goodluck Jonathan did not receive the same effort and cooperation as compared to Muhammadu Buhari who came into office in May 2015. This paper argues the important roles played by the two Nigerian leaders which either aided or prevented collaboration. Goodluck Jonathan was perceived as a weak and indecisive leader whose leadership failed to effectively handle the Boko Haram insurgency. Muhammadu Buhari assumed office with a lot of high hopes and expectations from the Nigerian population and the international community to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency.

  • After independence in 1945, the South Korean economy rose steadily from a developing country to a developed country while, after independence in 1960, Nigeria is still a developing country with poverty on the increase, despite its large amount of natural resources. This research seeks to find a viable solution to this issue while studying the relationship that exist amongst Economic Development Plans (EDPs), National Innovation System (NIS) and economic development in Korea. The methodology used herein is a mixture of a systematic literature review and a semi-structured interview. The results of this study show that EDPs are essential to the enhancement of communication, and the flow of knowledge and innovation of the NIS. Furthermore, our result shows that the efficiency of the NIS is relevant to drive economic growth and development. Therefore, based on our analysis of the current situation in Nigeria and the development trajectory of Korea, we developed, introduced and recommended a theoretical framework called the "Multiple skipping" development trajectory as a model for development in Nigeria.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data that can be used for the development of technology textbooks of Nigeria-Korea Model School by analyzing external and internal aspects of Illustration in Nigerian primary school technology textbooks, and 10 textbooks used in Nigeria were analyzed. Based on the results of the study, the conclusions are as follows. First, the form of the visual data should be diversified into a picture, a cartoon, a diagram, and a diagram from the photograph center, and provide various information closely related to the contents of the technology. Second, it is necessary to increase the size of illustration so as to induce learners to be motivated, and to enhance the effect of editing. Third, currently, partial enlargement data is rarely used, but visual material should be partially enlarged in order to express a detail part of product. Fourth, diversity of editing should be done by using circular or background omission rather than using only rectangle uniformly in visual material. Fifth, in terms of gender equality, it is necessary to deviate from male-centric visual materials and edit them with consideration for women. Sixth, in order to provide learner-centered textbooks, the role of visual materials should be extended to 'inducement of motivation', 'activity guidance', and 'activity result' in addition to 'providing data'. Finally, in terms of the function of visuals, the quality of textbooks should be upgraded by utilizing auxiliary and decorative functions in addition to essential functions.
