나비아-스톡스 방정식의 해에 의한 황산용액 내에서 초음파에 의해 가진되는 기포의 거동 예측 (Prediction of Behavior for an Ultrasonically Driven Bubble in Sulfuric Acid Solutions by a Set of Solutions of Navier-Stokes Equations)

  • A set of solutions of the Navier-Stokes equation for the gas inside a spherical bubble with heat transfer through the bubble wall permits to predict correctly behavior of an ultrasonically driven bubble in aqueous solutions of sulfuric acid. Calculation results of the minimum velocity of bubble wall and the peak temperature and pressure are in excellent agreement with the observed ones. Further the calculated bubble radius-time curve displays alternating pattern of bubble motion as observed in experiment.

  • Three-dimensional flow through a tubular centrifugal fan with airfoil type blades are analyzed using CFX-TASCflow. Standard k - $\epsilon$ model and k - $\omega$ model are used as turbulence closures. The numerical schemes for convetion terms, i.e., Upwind Differencing Scheme(UDS), Mass Weighted Skewed Upstream Differencing Scheme(MWS), Linear Profile Skewed Upstream Differencing Scheme(LPS), and Modified Linear Profile Skewed Upstream Differencing Scheme(MLPS) are also tested. And, the performance of these schemes coupled with two turbulence models are evaluated. Computational static pressure distributions are compared with experimental data obtained in this work.

  • Since the previous cut-and-try design algorithm require much cost and time, it has recently been concerned the automatic design technique using the CFD and optimum design algorithm. In this study, the Navier-Stokes equations is solved to consider the more detail viscous flow informations of cascade interaction and O-H multiblock grid system is generated to impose an accurate boundary condition. The cubic-spline interpolation is applied to handle a relative motion of a rotor to the stator. To validate present procedure, the time averaged aerodynamic loads are compared with experiment and good agreement obtained. Once the N-S equations have been solved, the computed aerodynamic loads may be used to computed the sensitivities of the aerodynamic objective function.   • The numerical procedure has been developed for simulating incompressible viscous flow around a turbine stage with rotor-stator interaction. This study solves 2-D unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on a non-orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system. The Marker-and-Cell concept is applied to efficiently solve continuity equation. To impose an accurate boundary condition, O-H multiblocked grid system is generated. O-type grid and H-type grid is generated near and outer rotor-stator The cubic-spline interpolation is applied to handle a relative motion of a rotor to the stator. Turbulent flows have been modeled by the Baldwin- Lomax turbulent model. To validate present procedure, the time averaged pressure coefficients around the rotor and stator are compared with experiment and a good agreement obtained.

  • An efficient inverse design technique based on the MGM (Modified Garabedian-McFadden) method has been developed. The 2-D Navier-Stokes equations are solved for obtaining the surface pressure distributions and coupled with the MGM method to perform the inverse design. The solver is parallelized by using the domain decomposition method and the standard MPI library for communications between the processors. The MGM method is a residual-correction technique, in which the residuals are the difference between the desired and the computed pressure distribution. The developed code was applied to several airfoil shapes and the axial blade. It has been found that they are well converged to their target pressure distribution.

수중로봇용 덕트 추진기의 설계 및 성능해석 (Design and Performance Analysis of Ducted Propulsor for Underwater Robot)

  • Underwater robots are generally used for the construction of seabed structures, deep-sea ecosystem research, ocean energy development, etc. A ducted marine propulsor is widely used for the thruster of an underwater robot because of its collision protection, efficiency increase, cavitation reduction, etc. However, the flow of a ducted propeller is very complex because it involves strong flow interactions between the blade impeller and duct. The present work aimed to design a ducted propeller using 2-D strip theory and CFD analysis. The hydrodynamic forces (i.e. and ) were computed to set the local angle of attack in a spanwise direction of the propeller blade. After the propeller design, performance coefficients such as the thrust, torque, and efficiency were computed to check whether the designed performance was achieved. To validate the present analysis, the thrust was compared with experimental data and good agreement was obtained.

  • In this study, a finite element method program code which can be accomodate boundary conditions on the complex surfaces has been developed to simulate polymer extruder processes. The analysis method includes the fractional 4-step method for efficient computation time and compact usage of memory storage to solve the velocities and the pressure values from the Navier-Stokes equation. By using the developed program which was verified with simple Poiseuille flow mixture phenomena in single-and twin-screw extruder are analyzed. It is concluded that the proposed method resulte Poiseuille Poiseuille d in fair agreement with the exact solution of simple flow and the back flow near the entrance happens in single-screw model. It is identified that the location and values of maximum pressure in the twin screw extruder model. It is expected that the Velocity field found can be used to predict the degree of mixture in the extruder barrel.

분자-연속체 하이브리드 기법을 이용한 구조물이 있는 나노 채널에서의 쿠에트 유동에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on Couette Flow in Nanostructured Channel using Molecular-continuum Hybrid Method)

  • 분자-연속체 하이브리드 기법은 연속체 유체역학으로 예측하기 어려운 마이크로/나노 스케일 유동에 대해 개발되고 발전해 왔다. 분자동역학은 고체표면 주변 영역에서 사용되고, 나머지 영역에서는 나비아스톡스 방정식이 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 나노채널에서 고체-액체 상호작용과 표면 거칠기의 영향을 연구하기 위해 분자-연속체 하이브리드 기법을 이용하여 쿠에트 유동을 해석하였다. 우리는 고체-액체 상호작용 힘인 표면 에너지와 표면 거칠기가 유동의 표면 경계조건에 영향을 주는 것을 발견하였다. 표면 에너지가 낮을 때에는 유동이 고체 표면에서 미끄러짐이 발생하였고, 표면 에너지가 증가함에 따라 미끄러짐의 크기가 감소하였다. 표면 에너지가 높을 때에는 로킹(locking) 경계조건이 형성되었다. 또한 표면 거칠기는 유동이 고체 표면에서 미끄러지는 것을 방해하여 로킹 경계조건이 잘 형성되도록 영향을 주었다.
