String, as clothing material, has played a functional, symbolic and decorative role in garment traditionally. The string has a shape of continuous line, which is one of the basic elements for the design: points, lines and sides. It can effectively represent the silhouette by making our vision flow to a certain direction. This study reinterprets the traditional form of string in a new modern way by developing "Tube-Shaped String" which has an empty hole in the middle. As a creative attempt, the new tube-shaped string can be used for fashion design by applying it to unique shapes, colors, textures, and draping expressions. In a role dimension, this string can become the main fabric material. The methods of the study are as follows. First, it examines the traditional shape and role of string in the history of garment. Second, it studies modern designers, such as Christian Dior, Ann Demeulemeester, Dolce & Gabbana, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, who have applied the string to their design, and have explored the various potentials of the string in the past four years. Finally, based on the theoretical research and practical analysis, this study creates a new tube-shaped string, applying its own technique to fabricating three garments: jacket, dress, and body suit. As a result, each garment shows unique silhouettes, rich texture and color, and rhythmical movement. The unique silhouettes reflect the shape and movement of different bodies. The texture and color are created through the shades of the string which come from the overlapping strips. The garments come with an unbeatable aesthetic design compared to conventional uniform design. As a new material in clothing, this tube-shaped string can be developed to satisfy the public, which has widely varying tastes in fashion.

This study analyzed the pressure, subjective wearing comfort, and design preference of brassiere shoulder straps among women in their 20s and 40s. Experimental clothing was made by different shoulder strap designs on a brassiere. In the four designs (A-D), the front attachment points of the shoulder straps were the same, but the back attachment points were different. Three of them (E, E1, E2) were of a halter neck design, with different front attachment positions. The pressures of A-D were measured at the position passing through the shoulder line (P1), and E-E2 was measured at the back neck (P2) as well as at P1. Subjective wearing comfort and design preference were rated on a 7-point Likert scale. A was determined to exert the highest pressure at the neck side of the design in the pressure measurement analysis of A-E2, whereas E1 exerted the lowest. E was measured to have the highest pressure among the E-E2 designs, whereas E2 had the lowest. Participants preferred A the most and E the least in regards to the subjective wearing comfort of A-E. Thus, participants deem A to be the most comfortable despite the high strap pressure. However, E was the most favored design, despite its poor wearing comfort. Participants' subjective impressions of E-E2 were that E2 was the most uncomfortable, but its design was the most preferred. Consumers' design preferences and subjective impressions of wearing comfort did not match.

This study designed four types with a different halter-neck shoulder straps of an athleisure brassiere for women in their 20-40s as well as analyzed the shoulder strap pressure, shoulder strap position, subjective sensation, and design preference when wearing them. The design basis was to reduce the pressure at the back of the neck area, to allow the shoulder strap to pass down the neck as far as possible, and to send the anatomically sensitive side neck out as far as possible. As a result, H, which had the best subjective sensation and design preference, had the shoulder strap positioned more towards the shoulder point; in addition, the back of the neck did not pass. It was also found that the shoulder strap pressure near the neck was small. However, E, with the lowest subjective sensation, had the highest shoulder strap pressure and was placed up the neck. This confirmed that the position and pressure of the shoulder strap are variable when influencing the subjective sensation.

In the creation of non-verbal dance performance, stage costumes are an important element of visual expression and serve an expanded role in addition to its fundamental decorativeness, representation of status reflective of the historical setting of the act and functionality for the dance movement. We intends that the purpose of this research is to analyze the expanded role of the costumes in the creative ballet <'That' Girl>, and through this exercise, provide foundational data on and suggest new future directions for stage costume design. <'That' Girl> is composed of two acts, offering condolences and eliciting empathy by conveying the fear experienced by the victims of the time. The second dance act representing freedom and "Haan" requires this expanded application of costume design. The costume design was inspired by the "Statue of Peace" representing comfort women, and completed through three draft designs and material experiments testing the ease of operation of the strings and fabrics installed in the costumes as well as the functionality of the associated ballet movements. In conclusion, expansion of time & space, expansion of form and expansion of symbolic expression were shown in the dance of liberation using strings wrapped around the arms and through the cloth embodying 'Haan' hidden in front of the costume.

The MCS(Micro-coplanar strip) line has been analyzed. The conformal mapping method is used to calculate the quasi-static effective permittivity and characteristic impedance of this MCS line. The computed results of the present work are found to be in good agreement when compared with the results obtained using commercial S/W, IE3D. And in this paper, the stepped-impedance low pass microstrip filter is designed and fabricated with MCS lines for improving the frequency responses. The LPF proposed structure has been also designed and implemented to have the sharp attenuation characteristics in stop band. The agreement between simulation and measurement results verify the implemented LPF.

In this study, the fit of commercial sports bras was analyzed according to various design variations, focusing on the shape of the shoulder strap, which is known to cause great discomfort in wearing sports bras. Experimental clothes were set to four commercially available sports bras with different shoulder strap shapes. The results showed that, in "size suitability," the overall satisfaction with experimental clothing B, of which the shoulder strap can be adjusted, was the highest, especially for "underbust circ. fit," "bust circ. Fit," and "shoulder strap length." In the "Shape suitability" and "Wearability" sections, experimental clothing B also showed the highest satisfaction and the shoulder strap adjustment device did not negatively affect wearing satisfaction. In the question on "side wings rolled up," experimental clothing A also received a relatively good score, which is due to its long front length. In the "Compression of the front center" section, the responses for experimental clothing A and B were "appropriate" and for C and D, they were "pressurized." In "motion suitability" as well, satisfaction with experimental clothing B was the highest, followed by experimental clothes A, C, and D. In the "body shape correction" section, clothing B elicited the highest satisfaction, followed by experimental clothes A, C, and D, in that order. Overall, it is recommended that shoulder straps be applied with adjustable straps for the comfort of the shoulder area while wearing sports bras.

본 논문에서는 한류의 영향으로 그 관심이 증가되고 있는 신한복 커스터마이징 시스템 개발을 위해 신한복 치마 패턴개발에 필요한 기초자료를 얻고자 시판 6개 신한복 브랜드의 치마 패턴을 비교분석하였다. 같은 디자인의 free사이즈 치마임에도 불구하고 각기 다른 치수로 제작되는 것으로 나타났다. 치마길이는 17cm, 허리벨트길이는 29cm, 허리벨트폭은 4.5cm, 끈길이는 72.7cm, 치마길이는 17.0cm, 치마폭은 90.5cm의 차이를 나타냈다. 같은 신한복 치마임에도 브랜드에 따라 치수 차이가 큰 것으로 분석되어 치수규격의 정리가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 한국 성인여성의 신체치수를 분석하여 그에 적합한 신한복 치마 패턴 개발이 이루어져야 함을 알 수 있다.

This study examined the current state of fitness IT which are commercially available, and proposed the prospect and promoting plans for fitness IT. Latest wearable smart market has been reorganized into smart watch market and fitness tracker market. Fitness trackers which are typical devices of fitness IT technology has developed various types of such as watch, band, clothes, glasses, and lens. Until now, the most popular type of fitness tracker are watch and band including clip, necklace, hair band etc.. Also Apple and Google referred to as the two major axes of mobile platform has provided a health-related platform such as "Healthkit" and "Google Fit" for preoccupying the fitness business. The view of the fitness IT has seen a continuous growth trend considering smaller and lighter of fitness-related wearable device. To continuous growth and promote of fitness IT, it is expected to require mash-up a variety of fitness applications and services, ensuring the convenience of user experience, design and resonable price.

This study aims to compare muscle activities of trunk and lower extremities according to wearing/not-wearing and forms of backpack. Twenti-six healthy adults were participated in the study. In the backpack with 10% body weight, trunk and lower extremities were measured during carrying the no backpack state(NBs), general backpack state(GBs), a decrease moment arm backpack state(DMBs). The muscle activity in a fore muscles(Obilique, Quadriceps, Tibialis anterior, Gastrocnemius) were analyzed with using wireless electromyogram measuring system. DMBs showed significant improvemet in obilique, quadriceps and gastrocnemius muscle RVC.
