In his recent paper, Hanseung Kim (2014) discusses the Cable Guy paradox and argues that given the nature of regret, it is rational to bet on the cable guy's afternoon arrival, though it is equally probable for him to arrive in the morning or afternoon interval. In this paper, I argue that regret is not essential to the paradox in that the paradox still arises even if we ignore regret. I then briefly discuss a possible way to proceed to resolve the paradox.

국내 프린팅 시장은 지난해 말부터 이어진 경기 불황 한파로 인해 전년대비 15%이상 수요가 감소할 전망이다. 긴축 경영과 맞물려 기업 고객들은 '출력 비용 절감'을 가장 큰 화두로 삼고 노력 중이다. 이 같은 시장 요구에 의해 '비용 절감'과 '업무 효율성 증진' 등 두 마리 토끼를 동시에 잡을 해결책으로 통합문서출력관리서비스(MPS)가 본격적으로 자리잡을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 전체 출력기기 시장에서 복합기의 비중은 지속적으로 높아져 2008년 복합기 비중 71%에서 2012년 82%까지 늘어날 것으로 전망된다.

금년 본 연구소에서 효성의 HMI 제품의 Historical Trend 와 Historical Message 기능을 업그레이드 했다. Historical Trend 의 샘플링시간, 보관기간, 표시범위를 사용자가 동적으로 설정 할 수 있도록 수정 하였고 그동안 Historical Message에서 문제점으로 지적 되어왔던 검색이력기능 강화에 중점을 두었다.

수 처리 분야의 통합시스템을 구현함에 있어 이기종 장비 간의 데이터 연계는 프로그래머의 통신 프로그래밍 작업으로 매번 개발을 하여하는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이로 인해 시스템의 안정화에 많은 시간 및 인력이 투입되고 있다. 본 연구는 인터프리터 엔진을 활용하여 엔지니어가 엔지니어링 한 데이터 (통신 스크립트)를 번역, 해석, 자동동작 시켜 별도의 프로그래밍 작업(개발)없이 엔지니어링으로만 통합 시스템의 감시 및 제어를 구축 가능케 프로토콜 편집기를 개발 하여 신뢰성 높은 시스템을 구축키 위한 내용이다.
