A study of sintering behavior of spray coating in CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glasses on Al2O3 substrate (CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 계 유리 스프레이 코팅막의 소성 거동에 대한 연구)

  • Two types of CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 (CAS) glass powder applied spray coating on the surface of sintered Al2O3 were researched for sintering behavior; (1) Si-rich, glass containing high content SiO2, (2) Ca-rich, containing high content CaO. Foaming of bubbles remaining inside the Ca-rich glass was produced at a viscosity of approximately 107~109 poise, resulting in decreasing shrinkage (interfering with sintering) and increasing surface roughness. In case of Si-rich glass, there was no serious foaming bubbles phenomenon like Ca-rich below 1000℃, however cristobalite crystals with low density occurred at 1200℃ and then produced re-foaming of bubbles, resulting in abnormal sintering behavior. These phenomenon is considered to be a decrease in viscosity due to an increase in the Ca content of the glass according to the formation of low-density cristobalite crystals. Therefore, in case of CAS glass, it is necessary to consider the increase of surface roughness and the sintering interference because of foaming bubbles phenomenon at low temperature sintering. Especially, when containing high SiO2 content, abnormal foaming phenomenon due to crystallization at high temperature should be predicted.

  • Recently, it is certain that the increase of heating and cooling energy consumption by radical change in climate condition has caused serious problems related to environmental and energy concerns associated with increase of fossil fuel usage and carbon dioxide production as well as global warming. So, various actions to reduce greenhouse gas exhaustion and energy consumption have been prepared by world developed countries. Our government has also been trying to seek energy control methods for houses and buildings by proclaiming political polices on low-carbon green growth and construction and performance standards for environment-friendly housing. The energy consumption by buildings approximately reaches 25% of total korea energy consumption, and the increasing rate of energy consumption by buildings is stiffer than the rate by the other industries. The greatest part in the buildings of the energy consumption is building facade. While lots of research projects for reducing energy consumption of the facade have been conducted, but a few research projects on concrete comprising more than 70% of outsider of buildings has been tried. This research presents here a study to improve the insulation property of structural concrete formed by micro form admixture (MFA) with experimentally reviewing the physical, mechanical and thermal characteristics of the concrete. As the results of this experiment, in the case of concrete mixed with MFA, slump loss has been improved. As the mixing ratio of MFA increases, the compressive strength is decreased and thermal conductivity is increased. Also it was found that water-cement ratio increases, the compressive strength is decreased and thermal conductivity is increased. but, there was not big influence by the change of fine aggregate ratio.

A Study on a Moving Adaptive Grid Generation Method Using a Level-set Scheme (레벨셋법을 이용한 이동 집중격자 생성법에 대한 연구)

  • In order to improve the accuracy of the solution near the boundary in an analysis of viscous flow around an arbitrary boundary which move and be deformed using an Eulerian concept, a level-set based grid deformation method is introduced to concentrate grid points near the boundary. This paper presents a new monitor function which can easily control the level of the concentration of grid points along the boundary. Computations for steady flow around a semi-circular cylinder mounted on the bottom of the flow domain were carried out to check the improvement of the solution using the adaptive grid system with an immersed boundary method. The present numerical results show a good agreement with the solutions obtained by a body fitted grid system and more accurate solutions than those computed with non-adaptive grid system. For the validation of mechanical usefulness of the present method, an expanded analysis of flow around multi-body fixed in the flow domain was carried out. Finally, the present moving adaptive grid method was applied to a two-dimensional bubble rise problem. The computed results show well adapted grid points around the boundary of the bubble at every time and a good agreement with the result calculated by fixed grid system.

Effect of Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete on the Growth of Zoysia Japonica Steud (경량기포 콘크리트 부산물 시용이 잔디의 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • A field assay was conducted to study whether the by-product of Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete(ALC) could be used as a silicate fertilizer for Korean Zoysiagrass. ALC application rates (0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0 and $8.0Mg\;ha^{-1}$) were investigated for their effects on growth status, mineral nutrient concentrations, yield of fresh and dry matter of lawn grass and soil properties after experiments. The number of stolon and length of stolon at 180 day after Zoysiagrass transplanting were increased in the treatemnt of $2.0{\sim}6.0Mg\;ha^{-1}$ of ALC application, but those of $8.0Mg\;ha^{-1}$ of ALC plot were deceased with excess of ALC. The fresh weight and dry matter at harvesting time of lawn grass treated with $6.0Mg\;ha^{-1}$ of ALC was heavier than those of other ALC plots. There were statistically significant between the number of stolon and length of stolon remarkably. Mineral nutrient contents such as Si and Ca in Zoysiagrass were increased by higher ALC application, while T-N, available P and K were no difference with application lavel of ALC. Soil pH and Si contents in soil after experiment were increased by ALC application remarkably.

  • 자원재활용과 원가절감를 위해 고지재활용율이 크게 상승하고 있으며, 이와 아울러 고 지원료로부터 고품질의 제품을 생산할 수 있는 기술에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있는 실 정이다. 저급 고지로부터 고품질의 탈묵펄프를 얻기 위해서는 고지재활용공정의 핵심 공정인 부유부상 공정의 효율화가 가장 중요하다고 믿어진다. 이를 위해서는 부유부상 공정에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 고형입자의 표면 화학적 특성에 따른 공정의 분리효율 평가와 이에 근거한 공정해석과 개선이 요청된다. 이러한 부유부상 공정을 표면화학적 측면에서 구명하기 위해 마이크로 크리스탈린 셀룰로오스(Microcrystalline cellulose: M MCC)를 모댈 물질로 사용하여 표면화학적 특성은 다르나 입자의 크기와 형태는 동일 한 시료를 준비하였다. 친수성의 표면 특성을 나타내는 MCC의 표면 특성을 바꾸기 위 하여 AKD(alkyl ketene dimer)로 처리비율을 달리하여 솔벤트 사이징 처리를 실시하 였다. 이렇게 준비된 MCC의 표면화학적 특성을 IGC를 이용하여 평가하였다 .. IGC는 G GC를 응용한 표면분석 기술로 고체의 물리화학적 특성과 흡착성을 분석하기 위해서 사용되며 이로부터 흡착제의 표면특성을 평가할 수 있다. 본 실험에서는 AKD로 소수화 정도가 다르도록 소수화시킨 MCC 시료를 이용하여 I IGC 칼럼을 준비하고 n-알칸과 몇가지 극성 용매률 이용하여 이들의 칼럼 내 체류시 간을 측정함으로써 흡착특성을 평가하고 이로부터 흡착현상을 열역학적으로 분석하였다. IGC 분석 시에는 칼럼의 온도를 $30^{\circ}C$, $35^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$의 3수준으로 변화시켰다. 측정결 과로부터 MCC 표면의 흡착자유에너지와 엔탈피, 엔트로피의 변화량을 평가하였으며, 또한 MCC 표면의 극성에너지와 산염기적 성질을 평가하였다. 실험결과 MCC의 소수화도에 따른 열역학적 흡착현상의 차이가 명백하였다. 이는 소 수화 수준에 따라 소수성 및 친수성 물질의 흡착성이 변화된다는 것을 보여준다. 따라서 탈묵 시 진행되는 기포에의 부착현상을 평가할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다 고 사료되었다.

Conceptual Design of 50 kW thermal Chemical-Looping Combustor and Analysis of Variables (열량기준 50kW급 매체순환식 가스연소기의 개념설계 및 변수해석)

  • To develop a chemical-looping combustion technology, conceptual design of 50 kW thermal chemical-looping combustor, which is composed of two interconnected pressurized circulating fluidized beds, was performed by means of mass and energy balance calculations. A riser type fast fluidized bed was selected as an oxidizer and a bubbling fluidized bed was selected as a reducer by mass balance for the chemical-looping combustor. Calculated values of bed mass, solid circulation flux, and reactor dimension by mass and energy balance calculations were suitable for construction and operation of chemical-looping combustor. It is concluded from the comparison of the design results and operating values of commercial circulating fluidized bed that the process outline is realistic. Moreover, the previous results support that oxygen carrier particle, NiO/bentonite, fulfills the conversion rates needed for the proposed design. The effects of system capacity, metal oxide content in a oxygen carrier particle, amount of steam input, gas velocity, and solid depth on design values were investigated and the changes in the system performance can be estimated by proposed design tool.

  • The first aim of mass product of glass in Automatic bottle glass industry is to decrease the cost and to increase the quality. Second, the cullet is how widely used to save the energy and reducing of ecomaterials. However the physical and chemical properties of Soda-lime glass would be come true at the lower than 2% $Al_2 O_3$. Unfortunately the $Al_2 O_3$ contents of domestic silica is greater than 4% Since small glass class than 200ml bottle is made in domestic silica the producting efficiency would be decreased due to the defect such as cord, knot, devitrite, pore etc. There are many problems such as devitrifiacation and deteriorated effect on production in glass industry became of increasing of plate glass cullet. It is tried to solve these kinds of problems using various analysing methods in this experiments.

  • The purpose of this research, through kinetic analyses and pilot plant experimentation of biofilm filtration reactor, is to study the theoretical equation of head loss in the Biofilm Reactor. The Head loss in the biofilm reactor has occurred due to the biofilm growth and the adhesion to the media surface and stagnation of upflow air bubble, which have caused the pore spaces to become smaller.   • The surfactants applied in household detergents and industrial cleansers should satisfy the requirement of not just the basic function such as emulsification, solubilisation, dispersion, detergency, wetting and foaming, but also the economical efficiency and the safety to human and environment. In the viewpoint of the sustainable development, the surfactants, moreover, have to reduce raw materials and energy consumption and waste disposal when they are being manufactured and also consumed for their purposes. New high-performance surfactants have been extensively studied and developed in order to respond the change in social and economical environment. Noticeable progresses have been achieved so far, which are the significant increase in solubility and surface activity through the minor modification of existing surfactant molecular structure and the synergistic increase in a surface activity shown in the mixed surfactant system of anionic and cationic surfactants. In this review, the important and meaningful progresses achieved recently in technological advance and practical application will be summarized and discussed.

Solid Circulation Characteristics in a 3 kW Chemical-looping Combustor (3 kW급 매체순환식 가스연소기의 고체순환특성)

  • To overcome disadvantages of conventional two interconnected fluidized beds system, a novel two-interconnected fluidized bed process has been adopted to 3kW chemical-looping combustor. This system has two bubbling beds, solid injection nozzles, solid conveying lines, and downcomers. In this study, effects of operating variables such as gas velocity through the solid injection nozzle, fluidizing velocity, solid height, geometry of solid intake hole, bed temperature on solid circulation rate have been investigated in a 3kW chemical-looping combustor. The solid circulation rate increased as the solid height and the opening area of solid intake holes increased. The effect of the fluidizing velocity and the bed temperature were negligible. Moreover, long-term operation of continuous solid circulation up to 50 hours has been performed to check feasibility of stable operation. The pressure drop profiles in the bubbling beds and the downcomers were maintained steadily and solid circulation was smooth and stable.
