Construction of an Estimation Model for Intersection Queue Length (교차로의 대기행렬 예측모형구축에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, a model was developed for estimating the queue length of vehicles, based on occupancy time of each vehicle collected by loop detectors which were setup at the upstream of urban street. The estimation model suggestes a method which minimizes architectural effects of the street, such as existence of pedestrian crossing, for future applications to the field. The estimation model suggested in this research was established based on real traffic data collected at up-stream detectors in Kangnam Subway station, Seoul, and the formula of the model is based on Multi-Polynomial equations. Consequence of the experiments showed that the model can adequately and in real-time mode measure length of the queue which were constructed at the 80 to 90 meters away from the upstream detectors. The estimation accuracy of the model was verified in statistical analysis conducted by regressing analysis and test results in real traffic situation.

Analysis of Korean Design Study Tendency (한국 디자인학 연구 동향에 대한 분석)

  • Theoratical and academic research of korean design study started from 1979, the year of establishment of the Korean Society of Design Science. From that point, social contribution and academic research of design study through the academic exchange has been brought up. I collected 2,065 thesises from the 'Journal of Korean Society of design Science' and 'Journal of Korean Society of Basic Design and Art' to analyze the design study tendency during last 24 years. The purpose of this paper is to show the Design study tendency and the direction of the design study with the empirical analysis. The frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were used for the data analysis, and the $X^2$ has been used to verify the differences between the observed frequency and expected frequency of items. The Original articles of design study has been increased steadily because of the growing importance of the design study in the society. The analysis shows Design Foundation Study, Design Application Study and Design Basic Study are the most frequently studied area in the Korean Design Study. Design Study utilize the research methodology of social science to get the reasonable and objective result. Because of this, the number of empirical research method has been increased in the research methodology in Korean Design Study.

  • Customizing system is acting a main role for the character production system of MMORPG. However, since using the high degree of freedom in MMORPG, these characters are too individual and lack of awareness. We can describe each character's emotional characteristics and understand the correlation of characters more easily by adjusting design factors capable of cognitive decision to characters. Game character developer should consider seeking efficient character design process that is suitable to MMORPG game environment and users for proper character recognition and promoting character preferences. In addition, this research being extended on the article vol.13, no.3, "A Study on Cognitive and Preference of Games' Character" on Korean Society of Basic Design in June 2012 issue and this study is expected to have effectives as one method for the purpose of this research is to inquire and present what type of relation lies between recognition and preference of game characters of MMORPG.

Preliminary field survey and analysis of ground water level and soil moisture in riparian vegetation zones (식생사주 역에서 지하수위와 토양수분의 현장 기초 조사.분석)

  • 1960년대 산업화와 도시화 이전 우리나라 하천은 모래, 자갈 사주가 경관생태의 대부분을 이룬 이른바 'White River'이었으나, '70년대 이후 댐건설, 하천정비 등으로 유황과 유사이송 특성이 변하면서 수변에 식생이 번무하는 이른바 'Green River'가 진행 중이다. 하천에서 식생활착은 생태 측면에서 생물 종의 다양성에 일부 긍정적인 역할을 하는 반면에, 고유종이 감소, 소멸하는 문제가 생긴다. 치수 측면에서는 흐름저항 증가와 하도의 고착화를 촉진시켜 치수 안정성에 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 본 연구는 사주 상 식생활착 현상을 정량적으로 규명하기 위한 연구의 시작으로서, 하천 식생사주역에서 식생활착에 직접적인 영향을 주는 소류력과 토양 수분 등 2대 물리 요소 중에서 후자에 초점을 맞추어 토양수분 요인과 식생 이입, 활착, 천이와의 관계를 규명한다. 이를 위해 모래하천인 낙동강 제1지류 내성천의 국가하천 구간 하류 지점인 회룡포 직상류 약 4km 지점을 시험하천 구간으로 선정하여 하천수위, 지하수위, 토양수분을 연속적으로 측정할 수 있는 시설을 설치하였다. 이러한 관측 시설을 가지고 1차적으로 2010년 8월부터 2011년 4월 초까지 지하수위와 하천수위, 토양수분을 연속적으로 모니터링하고 상호 관계를 분석하였다. 사주 상 식생 활착 특성도 주기적으로 조사하였다. 이번 일차 기초 조사 및 분석 결과, 하안에서 약 140-240m에 위치한 지하수위 관측정에서 측정된 지하수위는 하천수위 변화에 비해 시간적으로 약 20시간 지체되는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 사주 토양수분은 일반적으로 지하 깊이에 따라 커지나, 동시에 토층구조(soil texture)에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Recently, due to the development of interactive media, Interactive Typography, which explores user input and interaction is under development. Unlike traditional typography which has a fixed nature, the flexible and fluid nature of Interactive Typography and Interactive System, enables diverse results. In this study, I have developed an Interactive Typography art piece based on theoretical research. By reviewing books, papers and articles, I have tried to define the meaning and characteristics of Interactive Typography. In understanding the concept of Interactive System, I have borrowed the concept of mathematical function. Based on the research, I have designed and developed an Interactive Typography piece, 'Interactive floral type' by using Adobe flash action script. This piece explores the beautiful shape of each alphabet letters and transforms individual character into a 'flower' shape through user's mouse and keyboard input. Depending on the input the size, color, and layout and motion of text changes in real time to change the letters into beautiful flowers.

우르짜이트 단결정 MgZnO 씨앗층을 이용한 산화아연계 나노와이어의 수직

  • 최근 나노광전소자 응용에 큰 관심을 받는 물질인 산화물 나노선은 앞으로 불어 올 나노소재 시대를 여는 선두 물질이다. 이러한 산화물 나노선 가운데 가장 큰 관심을 받는 물질로는 산화아연 나노선을 들 수 있다. 삼화아연 나노선은 상온에서 큰 엑시톤 결합에너지 및 큰 밴드갭을 가지고 있으며 투명성 및 소자구동시 안정성을 지니고 있어 그 응용이 기대된다. 하지만 이러한 나노선을 이용한 광전소자 응용은 bottom-up 방식을 기초로 한 대면적 소자제작이 어렵다. 이러한 bottom-up 방식의 나노소자 제작에서 필요한 나노선 성장기술은 금속 catalyst 없이 대면적 성장, 나노선 수직어레이, 나노선의 고온성장, 기판 사이에 발생하는 자발적 계면층 제거 등으로 대표된다. 또한 나노선의 결정성 및 광특성 향상을 위해서는 고온성장이 불가피한데, 실리콘 기판과 같이 격자상수 불일치도가 큰 기판에서는 나노선 성장이 이루어지지 않고 다시 탈착되어 구조물이 성장되지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 선택적 삼원계 단결정 씨앗층을 이용하여 길이/직경 비가 매우 향상된 MgZnO 나노와이어를 interfacial layer 없이 수직으로 고온에서 성장하여 산화물 전계방출 에미터로서의 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • To improve efficiency and allowable life of gas turbine, the proper cooling techniques are needed. It is required not only the basic research of variable cooling techniques but also analysis of real operating conditions when design the cooling system. From this analytical results, we can predict the thermal stress and allowable life. This design process is thermal design techniques that is the most foundational design techniques to improve the efficiency of gas turbine.

  • Light color reaction, immersion and diffusion operation through the mural art can be expressed in a variety of image types. In this paper, the digital pattern for mural art was formed by observation of the optical phenomena in natural gems and the relation between the optical sparkle in gems and minerals and pattern design was characterized. New possibility with relevance for design work based on ultramarine with a beautiful sheen and spectrum of the coloring was used for Sustainable 3D simulation modeling and represented by high-resolution Image graphic design.

  • Preliminary investigation of CC process indicates that the process is feasible and has significant potential in construction automation approach of large objects. The process aims at automated construction of whole houses as well as sub-components. The potential of CC became evident from the initial investigations and experiments with various materials and geometries. Using this process, a single house or a colony of houses, each with possibly a different design, may be automatically constructed in a single run as shown on

    . Experiments with ceramics material show the versatility of the process relative to the use of a variety of fabrication materials. In addition to the use in rapid fabrication of large components, the process also has its niche in rapidly fabricating certain components for aerospace and automotive industries, where minimization of green machining is warranted.
