  • This paper presents the extraction of a feature by motion vector for efficient content-based retrieval for digital video. in this paper, divided by general size block for the current frame by video, using BMA(block matching algorithm) for an estimate by block move based on a time frame. but in case BMA appeared on a different pattern fact of motion in the vector obtain for the BMA. solve in this a problem to application for full search method this method is detected by of on many calculations. I propose an alternative plan in this paper Limit the search region to $\pm$15 and search is a limit integer pixel. a result, in this paper is make an estimate motion vector in more accurately using motion vector in adjoin in blocks. however, refer to the block vector because occurrence synchronism.   • Most existing facial expression recognition methods use a uniform grid method that divides the entire facial image into uniform blocks when describing facial features. The problem of this method may include non-face backgrounds, which interferes with discrimination of facial expressions, and the feature of a face included in each block may vary depending on the position, size, and orientation of the face in the input image. In this paper, we propose a variable-size block method which determines the size and position of a block that best represents meaningful facial expression change. As a part of the effort, we propose the way to determine the optimal number, position and size of each block based on the facial feature points. For the evaluation of the proposed method, we generate the facial feature vectors using LDTP and construct a facial expression recognition system based on SVM. Experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to conventional uniform grid based method. Especially, it shows that the proposed method can adapt to the change of the input environment more effectively by showing relatively better performance than exiting methods in the images with large shape and orientation changes.

The Impact of Armor Block Failure on Wave Pressure Acting on a Vertical Wall at the Front of a Caisson (피복 케이슨의 소파블록 이탈이 직립벽에 작용하는 파압에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines the effects of wave pressure on a vertical wall due to armor block failure at the front of a caisson, using a 2-D hydraulic model to simulate three types of armor block cross-sections. Additionally, the hydraulic characteristics of two cross-sections that replicated the armor blocks' failure, based on complete cross-sections, were compared. Moreover, quantitative analysis indicated that in the cross-section where the displacement of the armor block was recreated, wave run-up( ) increased by an average of 73%, the sum of dimensionless wave pressures increased by 28%, and converted wave force rose by 33%. These findings underscore the need for countermeasures in the event of armor block failure.

A Boundary Matching and Post-processing Method for the Temporal Error Concealment in H.264/AVC (H.264/AVC의 시간적 오류 은닉을 위한 경계 정합과 후처리 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new boundary matching method for the temporal error concealment and a post processing algorithm for perceptual quality improvement of the concealed frame. Temporal error concealment is a method that substitutes error blocks with similar blocks from the reference frame. In conventional H.264/AVC standard, it compares outside pixels of erroneous block with inside pixels of reference block to find the most similar block. However, it is very possible that the conventional method substitutes erroneous block with the wrong one because it compares only narrow spatial range of pixels. In this paper, for substituting erroneous blocks with more correct blocks, we propose enhanced boundary matching method by comparing inside and outside pixels of reference block with outside pixels of erroneous block and setting up additional candidate motion vector in the fixed search range based on maximum and minimum value of candidate motion vectors. Furthermore, we propose a post processing method to smooth edges between concealed and decoded blocks without error by using the modified deblocking filter. We identified that the proposed method shows quality improvement of about 0.9dB over the conventional boundary matching methods.

  • In this study, the block adjustments are perfomed by bundle adjustment method of analytical photogrammetry, and the characteristics of 3-dimensional errors for the objects are analysed. The optimal arrangement and configuration of the control points is selected from various arrangements and configurations of control points, and the accuracies of result obtained by block adjustment and by single model adjustment are compared, And the accuracy of bundle block adjustment is compared with that of the independent model triangulation which is another method in block adjustment with additional parameters by selecting the suitable systematic error model. As a result of this study, an the effective method to improve accuracy in close-range photogrammetry was presented by forming blocks and using bundle block adjustment with proper arrangement and configuration of control poinst.

  • This study investigates the suitability of the blockchain and FIDO among non-face-to-face authentication means in order to secure diversity of identfication means operated in South Korea. In order to do this, the study selected and analyzed seven conformance criteria (universality, persistence, uniqueness, convenience, security, applicability, and economics), and the results were appropriate. Accordingly, in order to apply the blockchain and FIDO as the identification means, the related regulations and notices should be revised to improve the identification procedure. In addition, differentiated certification standards should be established for each service field to apply various authentication means as well as existing identification means, and the authentication means should be continuously developed and linked with the service. In the future, the identification means will bring security of the information circulation environment in the IoT, so it should be implemented in a variety of services by supporting application of identification means.

HDS Method for Fast Searching of Motion Vector (움직임 벡터의 빠른 추정을 위한 HDS기법)

  • In Block Matching Algorithm (BMA), a search pattern has a very important affect on the search time and the output quality. In this paper, we propose the HDS( Half Diamond Search) pattern based on the cross center-biased distribution property of a motion vector. At lust, the 4 points in the above, below, left, and right around the search center is calculated to decide the point of the MBD (Minimum Block Distortion). And an above point of the MBD is checked to calculate the SAD. If the SAD is less than the previous MBD, this process is repeated. Otherwise, the left and right points of MBD are calculated to decide the points that have the MBD between two points. These processes are repeated to the predicted direction for motion estimation. Experiments show that the speedup improvement of the proposed algorithm can be up to 23% while maintaining similar image quality.

Efficiency Algorithm of Multispectral Image Compression in Wavelet Domain (웨이브릿 영역에서 다분광 화상 데이터의 효율적인 압축 알고리듬)

  • 본 논문에서는 웨이브릿 영역에서의 영역 분류와 대역간 예측 및 선택적 벡터 양자화를 이용한 다분광 화상테이타 압축 기법을 제안하였다. 이 방법에서는 각 대역을 웨이브릿 변환 후, 각 대역의 기저밴드의 대역별 특성을 이용하여 영역 분류를 행하였다. 그리고, 다른 대역과 해상도가 동일하고 공간적 분산이 작으며 분광적 상관성이 큰 기준대역 (reference channel)을 결정한 뒤, 이를 영역별 스칼라 및 분류별 가변 벡터 양자화를 행하여 부호화 하였다. 또한 기준대역과의 대역간 상관성이 큰 대역들에 대해서는 영역별 대역간 예측을 행한 후, 활동도가 높은 블록에 대해서만 선택적 벡터 양자화로 부호화를 행하였다. 이때, 활동도가 높은 블록들의 위치정보는 기준대역으로부터 얻어지는 임계치 지도 (threshold map; THMAP)를 이용하였다. 즉, 제안한 방법에서는 각 대역에 대해 웨이브릿 영역에서의 영역 분류 후 영역별 대역간 예측을 행함으로써 다분광 화상데이타에 존재하는 대역간 중복성을 제거하고 선택적 벡터 양자화를 행함으로써 대역내 중복성을 효과적으로 제거하여 압축효율을 향상시킨다. 실제 원격 센싱된 인공위성 화상데이타에 대한 실험을 통하여 제안한 기법의 부호화 효율이 기존의 기법에 비하여 우수함을 확인하였다.

Analysis of Flood Reduction in Downstream Urban Areas for the Storage in Apartment Complex (하류 도심지 침수저감 분석을 통한 공동주택 단지의 우수저류조 계획)

  • 연구목적:본 논문에서는 기후변화로 기존 도심지 침수 발생이 증가하는 현 상황에서 공동주택 단지에 소규모 우수저류시설을 계획하였을 때 기존 하류부 도심지 침수량 증가율과 기존 도심지 침수량 저감 정도를 분석하고자 한다. 연구방법:미국환경보호청 SWMM 모델을 활용해서 대규모 하수도 모델을 구축하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 하류부 기존 도심지 침수영향을 분석하였다. 구축한 모델은 개발지구, 하류부 기존 도심지, 우수를 방류하는 하천유역 전체를 포함하였다. 연구결과: 대규모 개발행위 시 연구대상지역에서 공동주택 블록별로 최소 우수저류조 용량을 산정하여 시뮬레이션한 결과, 하류부 기존 도심지에서 방재성능목표강우량 1시간 기준 4,893m3, 2시간 기준 25,815m3, 3시간 기준 55,528m3의 침수량을 저감할 수 있을 것으로 나타났다. 결론:본 연구와 같이 하류부 기존 도심지까지 고려한 대규모 침수 시뮬레이션을 실시하였을 때 하류부 도심지 침수가 크게 증가하는 것을 알 수 있고, 개발전 공동주택 단지 블록별로 필요한 우수저류조 용량을 계획하고 개발시 비용 지원 등으로 우수저류조 건설을 권장한다면 하류부 기존 도심지 홍수 부담을 감소시킬 수 있다.

Enhanced Binary Block Matching Method for Constrained One-bit Transform based Motion Estimation (개선된 이진 블록 매칭 방법을 사용한 제한된 1비트 변환 알고리듬 기반 움직임 추정)

  • In this paper, Enhanced binary block matching method for Constrained one-bit transform (C1BT) based motion estimation is proposed. Binary motion estimation exploits the Number of non-matched points (NNMP) as a block matching criterion instead of the Sum of Absolute Differences (SAD) for low complex motion estimation. The motion estimation using SAD could use the smaller block for more accurate motion estimation. In this paper the enhanced binary block matching method using smaller motion estimation block for C1BT is proposed to the more accurate binary matching. Experimental results shows that the proposed algorithm has better Peak Signal to Noise Ration (PSNR) results compared with conventional binary transform algorithms.
