Fusion Matching According to Land Cover Property of High Resolution Images (고해상도 위성영상의 토지피복 특성에 따른 혼합정합)

  • This study proposes fusion image matching method according to land cover property to generate a detailed DEM using the high resolution IKONOS-2 stereo pair. A classified image, consists of building, crop-land, forest, road and shadow-water, is produced by color image with four bands. Edges and points are also extracted from panchromatic image. Matching is performed by the cross-correlation computing after five classes are automatically selected in a reference image. In each of building class, crop-land class, forest class and road class, matching was performed by the grid and edge, only grid, only grid, grid and point, respectively. Shadow-water class was excepted in the matching because this area causes excessive error of the DEM. As the results, edge line, building and residential area could be expressed more dense than DEM by the conventional method.

An Analysis of the Development Potential at the Urban Regeneration Area (도시재생지역 개발 잠재력 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study firstly finds the factors for positive development of urban regeneration cases from the point of view of a public sector, and then analyzes the development potential of Urban Regeneration Projects in Gyeonggi-do through the methodology able to measure the development potential objectively. The process to analyze the development potential is as follows. First, after finding indices through literature review, indices with redundancy and similarity are drawn by the discussion with relative experts. Second, four clusters and twelve indices are drawn by the verification of experts. Finally, criticality analysis of indices are analyzed by ANP. According to the result to apply criticality analysis of indices to urban regeneration cases, factors related to residential environment and local economy influence development potential more than those related to infrastructures and land-use.

  • The Domestic housing Industry has to give consequence to the redevelopment and rebuilding of existing housings rather than the supply by developing a new building site, and now those tendencies are rapidly spreading out. Also, because apartment buildings occupies 50% over of the existing housing, its maintenance, repair, remodeling and reconstruction got to be necessary area for the slumming prevention of a residential area and the disaster prevention occurred by durability lowering of the building. It is increasing the interest for reusing and recycling of C&D waste. The government is doing efforts to diminish amount of C&D waste. But there couldn't find any efforts for developing Integrated system to manage and to estimate lightly generated amounts of C&D waste. So, this study presents a integrated computer system that can estimate easily quantity of C&D waste by using CAD draw and 3D Object.

Community Making in Urban Areas and the Implications : A Case of Samduck-Dong, Daegu City (도시지역 마을만들기의 사례와 시사점 : 대구 삼덕동을 사례로)

  • This study focuses on the characteristic of community making in urban areas and the implications in the case of Samduck-Dong, Daegu City. This study observed the geographic feature of Samduck-Dong, the background and process of community making and the citizen's interests and respondence. Samduck-Dong is located near CBD of Daegu and surrounded by useful places and facilities. This area is perceived as an attractive housing environment. As the commercial function is increased and the studio type house for rent, so called one room, is constructed, it is anticipated to get some trouble of building up community. The program of community making in Samduck-Dong, started from wall removal, is attempted diversly now. The places in relation to community making became a representative character of Samduck-Dong. However, there is problems of citizen's participation and the appreciation sharing about the contents and scale of community making.

  • This study aims to introduce "Street-Housing" Redevelopment Projects adopted by the revision of regulations in 2012 and promote them by surveying residents' needs. The objectives of the street-housing redevelopment projects are to maintain existing street systems and redevelop housing by small units, as an alternative to the large-scale housing redevelopment by the expropriation. Residents, however, do not seem to support the new projects since they are satisfied with their current housing, have difficulty in raising funds, and are uncertain about proceeding with the pre-arranged. Despite these barriers, residents may support the projects if project charges can be lowered by the reduction in each resident's share and the increase in supporting funds. This study proposes new practical methods for realizing the projects: choice of an appropriate site, engaging for resident's participation in projects, reduction in project charges, and removal of barriers to co-operative development. etc.

A Case Study on Urban Regeneration Projects for Declined Industrial Districts in Downtown Area (도심 노후산업지구 도시재생사업 사례연구)

  • It is needed to regenerate declined industrial districts in downtown area through to invite new industry and to improve urban environment. The purpose of this paper was to make suggestions on the urban regeneration for the districts. I have taken a literature research and a site analysis with cases of 'the South Lake Union' in Seattle and 'Pearl District' in Portland, USA. The result of the analysis was as follows: (1) The land use was changed to mixed use of business-commerce-recreation. The building use was changed to facilities for work, play and live. (2) Infrastructures were improved for user oriented facilities such as pedestrian friendly street, public parks & open spaces, public transportation system, and life supporting facilities. (3) The place identity was enhanced through the preservation of urban structure-tissues, renovation of existing buildings, and preservation of historical heritages.

  • Furniture is an essential element in the area of human residence, and the necessity of system furniture suitable for the pursuit of unity in design, which clearly distinguishes the various and flexible arrangements and characteristics of space, is gradually expanding. The elderly population in Korea currently exceeds 15%, and is expected to be close to 40% by 2050. An increasing number of elderly generations are showing different behavioral patterns, such as sharing information, health care, and seeking independence from children. In order to maintain an independent daily life, a stable living environment has become essential, but as a result of a study that safety accidents caused by households increase due to a decrease in cognitive ability and physical ability, the need for a suitable household has increased. Therefore, the biological changes and characteristics of the elderly were investigated, and the concept definition, scope and limitations of system households were studied. In addition, by grasping the changes in the home appliance market and trends in the home appliance market, the design direction of system furniture required by the elderly was presented.

A study on the change of total fertility rate in regional level : An analysis using the panel data

  • This study aims at exploring the change of the total fertility rate(TFR) in regional level and analysing what different effects the local labor market and housing market have on the change of TFR. Previous studies have emphasized that the job and housing issues of the youth are structural factors on the decline of TFR. However, considering that youth problem is variant in local level, the relationship of job and housing issues with TFR could be different in local level. This study analyses what effects the situation of local labor market and housing market have on the TFR from 2012 to 2018 in regional level. The result is that the employment and housing factors have different effects on capital areas and non-capital areas. While the high cost of housing has negative effects on TFR in capital areas, it has rather positive effects in non-capital areas. However, labor market variables have statistically insignificant effects on TFR.

The Effect of Built Environment on Walkability in Ho Chi Minh City Center District (건축 환경이 호치민시 보행편의성에 미치는 영향)

  • Walking plays an important role in promoting peoples' health and reducing the increasing pressure of traffic congestion. However, for cities in developing countries located in areas with unfavorable weather, such as hot and humid weather, there is not much research on walking. Therefore, this study focuses on the walkability and the effect of the built environment on walking in the center district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The correlation between the built environment and walking frequency of people was analyzed. Besides common elements that have been used in previous studies, other specific factors of the built environment were determined to estimate the walkability index. The results were then compared with the amount of walking obtained from surveys of local people. The result shows that people tend to walk more in the areas with a higher walkability index.

Impact Assessment of Sea_Level Rise based on Coastal Vulnerability Index (연안 취약성 지수를 활용한 해수면 상승 영향평가 방안 연구)

  • We have reviewed the current status of coastal vulnerability index(CVI) to be guided into an appropriate CVI development for Korean coast and applied a methodology into the east coast of Korea to quantify coastal vulnerability by future sea_level rise. The CVIs reviewed includes USGS CVI, sea_level rise CVI, compound CVI, and multi scale CVI. The USGS CVI, expressed into the external forcing of sea_level rise, wave and tide, and adaptive capacity of morphology, erosion and slope, is adopted here for CVI quantification. The range of CVI is 1.826~22.361 with a mean of 7.085 for present condition and increases into 2.887~30.619 with a mean of 12.361 for the year of 2100(1 m sea_level rise). The index "VERY HIGH" is currently 8.57% of the coast and occupies 35.56% in 2100. The pattern of CVI change by sea_level rise is different to different local areas, and Gangneung, Yangyang and Goseong show the highest increase. The land use pattern in the "VERY HIGH" index is dominated by both human system of housing complex, road, cropland, etc, and natural system of sand, wetland, forestry, etc., which suggests existing land utilization should be reframed in the era of climate change. Though CVI approach is highly efficient to deal with a large set of climate scenarios entailed in climate impact assessment due to uncertainties, we also propose three_level assessment for the application of CVI methodology in the site specific adaptation such as first screening assessment by CVI, second scoping assessment by impact model, and final risk quantification with the result of impact model.
