A Vibration-based Fault Diagnostics Technique for the Planetary Gearbox of Wind Turbines Considering Characteristics of Vibration Modulation (풍력발전기 유성기어박스의 진동 변조 특성을 고려한 진동기반 고장 진단 기법 고찰)

  • The performance of fault diagnostics for a planetary gearbox depends on vibration modulation characteristics, which can vary with manufacturing & assembly tolerance, and load condition. In this paper, a fault diagnostics technique that considers vibration modulation characteristics is proposed for the effective fault detection of planetary gearboxes in wind turbines. For identifying the vibration modulation characteristics in practice, re-sampled vibration signals are processed with narrow band-pass filters. Thereafter, the optimal position of the vibration extraction window is identified for effective detection of faulty signals under the varying vibration modulation characteristics. The proposed diagnostics technique makes it possible to perform robust diagnostics of the planetary gearbox with regard to the changeable vibration modulation effect. For demonstrating the proposed fault diagnostics technique, a 2-kW WT testbed is designed with two DC motors and gearboxes. A faulty gear with partial tooth breakage is machined and assembled into the gearbox.

  • In this study, we experimentally investigate a noise mechanism related to the machining accuracy of the reducer in the driving state. We fabricate a planetary reducer and four types of gears for use in the planetary reducer. We use signal analysis to determine the noise and vibration of the reducer at different motor speeds; the motor speed is increased from 0 rpm to the maximum speed in a stepwise manner. In addition, we obtain the sound level by using a sound level meter. The machining accuracy of gears is evaluated by public organizations, Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), on the basis of the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). We analyze and compare the results with the noise and vibration of the reducer.

  • This paper addresses an analytical approach to the mechanical error analysis of gear train and tolerance design and manufacture of gear train in restricted space considering motor driving torque, driving system inertia, motor acceleration, motor rotor inertia and friction torque. The gear train is designed to have optimum gear ratio in restricted space and each gear is manufactured to have the lowest weight and each gear tooth is heat-treated to have robustness. Based on the small difference between the mechanical error analysis and measurement, gear train design with optimum gear ratio and restricted space and robustness is proposed

  • A gear forming method by cold extrusion and an analytical method with its numerical solution program based on the upper bound method were developed. In the analysis the involute curve was as a shape of die and the upper bound method was used to calculate energy dissipation rate. By this method the power requirement and optimum conditions necessary for extruding helical(spur) gear were successfully calculated. These numerical solutions are in good agreement with experimental data. In the experiment, 4-6 class helical gear of KS standard for automobile transmission was successfully manufactured.

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차 시트 리클라이너 기어의 파인 블랭킹 성형 실험을 통하여 V-링 설치 위치에 따른 기어의 다이 롤 높이 변화를 검토하였다. 3 종류의 다이 편과 가이드 플레이트 편을 설계하여 파인 블랭킹 금형을 제작하였으며 650 ton 파인블랭킹 프레스에서 성형 실험을 수행하였다. 실험으로부터 제품을 취출하여 다이 롤 높이를 측정하여 분석한 결과 기어 모듈과 관계없이 V-링 설치 위치가 가이드 플레이트에서 멀어짐에 따라 다이 롤 높이가 증가함을 파악할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 향후 파인 블랭킹 금형의 V-링을 설계할 때 다이 롤 높이를 최소화하기 위하여 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 일반적으로 건설중장비에 쓰이는 주행용 감속기의 종류에는 차동유성기구(Differential Planetary Drive), 2단유성기구(Two Stage Planetary Drive), 3단유성기구(Three Stage Planetary Dnive)가 있으나 전체적인 감속기의 성능 및 특성에 대해서는 자세히 알려져 있지않아 주행시스템의 국내개발이 미흡한 상황에 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점의 1차적 해결책으로서 주행장치에 채용될 Heavy Duty용 유성기어 감속기를 차동유성기구 한개 모델과 2단유성기구 두개 모델을 시제품으로 제작하여 종류별로 동력전달효율과 감속기 내부 온도상승의 관점에서 그 성능을 비교 분석하여 각각의 특성을 제시하였다.

  • 구면무단변속기(SS-CVT)는 구조가 간단하여 변속기구의 부피와 무게를 기존의 변속기구에 비하여 줄일 수 있으며, 별도의 클러치 없이 출력축의 정회전, 역회전 그리고 중립상태 등을 구현할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 구면무단변속기의 기구적 특징과 변속메카니즘을 이용하여 직류모터와 가솔린엔진을 장착한 병렬형 하이브리드차량의 동력전달계를 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 구면무단변속기의 작동원리에 대해 설명하고 전용 실험장치를 제작하여 무단변속성능을 검증하였다. 또한 직류모터를 보조 동력원으로 사용하는 병렬형 하이브리드차량 동력전달계의 설계를 위해 연결기어비와 구면무단변속기의 변속비를 차량주행성능에 맞추어 설정하였으며, 이를 차량가속성능의 수치 시뮬레이션을 통하여 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 구면무단변속기의 하이브리드차량 동력전달계의 적용가능성을 검증하였으며, 연구결과로 선정된 구성요소의 설계파라미터를 이용하여 시작차량을 제작하였다.

Development of an End-Effector for Cucumber Robotic Harvester (오이 로봇 수확용 엔드이펙터 개발)

  • Cucumber fruits requires a lot of labor to harvest in time in Korea, since the fruits are cut and grabbed by hand. In this study, we developed an end-effector for robotic harvester of cucumber fruits. Its development involved the integration of an end-effector system with a PC compatible, DC motors, and a motor controller board. Software, written in Pic-basic, combined the functions of motor control with various circumstances. Cucumber's properties were measured and analyzed for precision of the end-effector. The results were similar to those of other vegetables. Properties including hardness of cucumber fruits were used as basic data for development of a harvester.

  • Electric wheelchairs, the output from the motor is mainly applied to a speed reducer using a power transmission device such as a belt or a chain. However, although a speed reducer using a belt or chain is a simple device, it occupies a lot of space and has a space limitation, so it is not suitable for an electric wheelchair driving part. However, since the speed reducer of the planetary gear type is decelerated on the same axis, the volume can be reduced, so the space constraint is less than that of the belt or chain type reducer. Therefore, in this study, a driving part that can obtain great propulsion with a speed reducer using a planetary gear type was developed through a study on the driving part of a wheelchair that can be switched between manual and electric. Accordingly, the tooth shape of the planetary gear applied to the reducer was designed using the Kisssoft program. In addition, the drive part was designed to be applicable to the existing wheelchair wheels, and the mechanism was optimized for the manual/electric switching principle and operation principle of the drive part. Based on the research contents, the final design and manufacture of the wheelchair reducer drive unit in the form of a planetary gear having one sun gear, two planetary gears and one ring gear was carried out.

흠경각루 내부 메커니즘에 대한 고찰

  • 1438년 장영실은 경복궁 흠경각(欽敬閣) 내부에 자동물시계인 옥루(玉漏)를 제작하였다. 흠경각루(欽敬閣漏)는 수격식(水激式, 물의 흐름을 이용하여 수차를 운행하는 동력방식)으로 운영되는 것으로 중국의 수운의상대(水運儀象臺, 1092년경 제작)의 수격방식과 유사하다. 하지만 동력 방식을 제외한 내부 구조에 대한 것은 흠경각루의 외형모습인 가산 형태, 시보인형의 구성과 배치, 작동구조 등에 의해 결정된다. 장영실은 흠경각루의 내부 기어장치의 구성과 연결 등에 대해서 새로운 제작기술을 사용하였다. 우리는 수격식 동력 방식에서 내부 공간에 따른 각각 운행 장치들의 구성과 동력전달체계에 대하여 분석하였다. 또한 수차가 일정한 회전력을 갖도록 제어하는 천형(天衡) 장치에 대하여 고찰하였다.
