  • 가장 오래된 금속성형법 중의 하나인 열간 단조는 재결정온도-고상선(강재의 경우, 일반적으로는 1,200-l,28$0^{\circ}C$)의 온도로 재료를 가열하여 간단한 형상의 소재로부터 하나 또는 둘 이상의 공정을 통하여 최종제품을 생산해내는 소성가공법이며, 이것은 절삭 가공에 비하여 재료의 손실이 적으며, 생산속도가 빠르고 또한 단류선(flow line)의 방향으로 인장강도, 충격강도 등의 기계적 강도가 커야 할 필요가 있는 제품의 대량 생산에 적합한 가공법이다.

An Experimental Study to Reduce the Fraction of Noise Defect of Hoist Gear Boxes (호이스트 기어박스의 소음불량률 저감을 위한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper deals with the experimental research, including measurement and analysis and field survey, on the causes of occurring noise defective gear boxes in hoist production plant in order to reduce the fraction of their occurrence. In this reserch following investigations are performed : measurement and gear-boxes, examination of each machining process of production, measurement and analysis of dimensional accuracy of each part, comparative vibration test with exchanging inaccurate parts. From these investigations, it is found that the machining accuracy of pinion gear tooth thickness is the most sensitive factor of noise problem. By maintaining the tooth thickness error within 0.05 mm tolerance in the gear cutting process, the fraction of noise defective gear-boxes are greatly reduced to less than 2%, where the usual rate of it has been 20-50%.

Development of Jig Type Chuck for Roundness Improvement in a Machining of High Stage Speed Gear (고단속 기어의 가공 시 진원도 향상을 위한 지그척 개발)

  • Recently, the requirements for high precision and efficiency machining are gradually increased to raise international competitiveness at the industrial fields of automotive and gears. This trend had made effects on the industrial fields in Korea and which needs further studying of high accuracy and efficiency machining. This study is to investigate the effects of Jig type chuck for roundness improvement in CNC turning machining of high stage speed gear. After hobbing machining, Dimensional change before and after heat treatment was very largely generated. In order to solve this problem was to develop a jig type chuck. After the heat treatment, the operation of the chuck which was the most distinguished equipment among Jig type chuck(0.006mm), Scroll type chuck(0.05mm) and Bolt type chuck(0.04mm). Therefore, Jig type chuck was satisfied the requirement from the actual field(0.02mm).

  • In this paper, we analyze the power flow of an eight-speed automatic transmission by using a lever analogy for the manufacturing of planetary gears. The results indicate that the engine power is passed down to the carrier and ring gear in the first double pinion planetary gear (DPPG1), and to the sun gear, carrier, and ring gear in DPPG3 for the first speed. Although the power flow is similar in the second speed, the power circulation occurs in the second single pinion planetary gear (SPPG2). For the third speed, the engine power is passed from the carrier to the ring gear in DPPG, at which point the power is split between the sun gears of SPPG2 and DPPG3.

  • In the machining processes, the tool chipping are known to be the most dangerous when the variation of end of tool edges is largest. Therefore, chipping has been caused by the stress distribution in the moment of cutting. In this study, in order to predict the shapes of tool chipping with the tool shapes and the cutting conditions, the premier chipping shapes of involute cutter iss predicted by the stress distribution value of cutting edges and it is verified by the experiments. The growth behavior of the tool chipping is considered through the experiment of gear cutting and in case of evaluation of specific cutting energy in the proper machining conditions through the simulation result, it can be known that the prediction of cutting force is possible accurately.

Precision Cold Forging of Spur Gear Using the Alloy Steel (합금강을 이용한 스퍼기어의 정밀 냉간 단조)

  • The conventional closed-die forgings had been applied to the forging of spur gears. But the forgings require high forging-pressure. In this paper, new precision forging technology have been developed. The developed technology is two steps forging process. Good shaped products are forged successfully with lower forging-pressure than those of conventional forging. The accuracy of the forged spur gear obtained by new precision forging technology is set nearly equal to that of cut spur gear of fourth and fifth class in Korean industrial standard.

  • The worm reducer is capable of quadrature power transmission when the shafts are disposed at right angles to each other. Since a large reduction ratio can be obtained of up to approximately 1/100 and a sliding movement is performed during operation compared with other gears, the noise and vibration are small, and there is the advantage that reverse rotation can be prevented. On the other hand, severe wear and damage are displayed on the gear and worm tooth surface, and many defects, such as intense heat generation of the reducer, occur. In the reducer case, the four-piece casing method was selected to solve the problems of heat generation, transmission efficiency, and assemblability. In this paper, we analyzed the problems of the worm and worm wheel (the core parts of a 5-Ton worm reducer) and casing through these methods and researched how to solve them.
