This study explores the effect of open innovation activities on innovation performance by dividing into two dimensions of breadth and depth of open innovation activity, and it also verifies the mediating effect of technical protection between open innovation activities and innovation performance. In order to examine the hypothesis, it has surveyed 1,403 companies of manufacturing and service with experience in producing innovative results. The results find that the breadth of open innovation activities has a positive effect on the achievement of radical innovation, and the depth of open innovation activities brings a positive effect on the achievement of incremental innovation. The verification result of the mediating effect of technology protection indicates that partially mediated between the breadth of innovation activities and radical innovation activities, and in the case of the depth, it is completely mediated. The results of this study provide the crucial implications not only for the company promoting open innovation, but especially also for the companies promoting product innovation by acquiring technology.

This paper focuses on effect of technological collaboration and securement of appropriability on product innovation performance. Additionally, moderating effect of appropriability on technological collaboration is investigated by using Korean Innovation Survey 2010 conducted by the Science and Technology Policy Institute in Korea. Result shows that technological collaboration with customer and affiliate affects product innovation performance positively. Appropriability, in addition, not only gives positive effect on product innovation performance by itself, but also it augments the positive effect of technological collaboration on product innovation performance. The results imply that technological collaboration and appropriability are the key determinant for the increase of the product innovation performance; therefore, firms need higher level of technological collaboration invigoration and possession of appropriability. at last, firms require profound insight concerning strategic use of technology protection methods to secure appropriability.

In order for a company to grow through technological innovation, technological innovation capacity to support technological innovation is more important than anything else. In addition, the technology commercialization process can not be ignored in order to lead to the improvement of the business performance. In this context, this study analyzed the impact of firm's technological innovation capacity on business performance and tried to analyze whether technological innovation capacity has a moderating effect on technological innovation capacity. To analyze the purpose of this study, we collect data through questionnaires of small and medium venture companies located in the southeast region of korea. The results of multiple regression analysis based on 132 collected company survey data are summarized as follows. First, Technology innovation capacity has a positive effect on business performance. Specifically, companies with well-equipped R&D capabilities, technology accumulation capabilities, and technology innovation systems showed higher business performance(market competitiveness, business growth potential, and business profitability). Second, technology commercialization capacity has a positive effect on the effect of technological innovation capacity on business performance. This result implies that a company with a good technical commercialization capability increases the positive influence of technological innovation capacity on business performance. The results of this study suggest that it is important to systematically manage the technology commercialization capacity in order to generate business performance through technological innovation.

최근 글로벌 경제의 중장기적 불황과 성장률 하락에 기인하여, 대내외적으로 불투명한 환경하에서 생존하고 발전하기 위한 새로운 대안으로 새로운 상품이나 서비스를 탄생 시키고 생산방식의 변화와 업무 혁신을 통해 조직의 지속가능성을 높이는 조직구조에 대한 관심이 날로 높아지고 있다. 이런 분위기에서 중소벤처기업의 성장은 국가경제에 미치는 영향이 매우 지대하다는 것을 모두 공감 하고 있으며, 이러한 중소벤처기업이 기업 성과를 높이고 그러한 성과를 지속할 수 있도록 구성원들의 기술혁신역량을 높이기 위한 다양한 노력들이 지속되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적 역시 중소벤처 기업의 기술혁신 역량이 지식경영의 성과와 어떠한 상관관계를 가지고 있는가를 조사하고 기업의 전략적 활동을 조직화하여 가치창출에 사용될 자원 및 조직 능력을 외부 네트워크로부터 획득하게 하는 네트워크 역량이 어떤 역할을 수행하는지에 대해 분석 하는데 있다. 즉, 중소벤처기업의 기술 혁신역량이 네트워크 역량을 매개변수로 하여 지식경영 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구를 중심으로 진행하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기술혁신역량이 중소벤처기업의 네트워크 역량을 매개로 삼아, 기술혁신역량이 지식경영성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미칠 것이라는 가설을 검증하고자 한다. 기술혁신역량을 기반으로 한 경제활동의 불확실성이 높아진 환경 하에서 새로운 변화에 신속히 대응하며, 장기적 경기 침체 극복은 물론이고 거시적 경제 성장과 발전을 이끌어 조직의 지속적 성장과 생존뿐 아니라, 국가의 신성장 동력이 될 수 있도록 하여야 한다. 그리고 조직 내의 가장 중요한 지식경영 성과를 종속변수로 설정하여 본 연구를 진행하였다.

Employment in enterprises is a consecutive decision-making process based on the results of their innovative activities and it is necessary to consider this relationship as well explicitly in an analysis of the employment performance through technological innovation. Based on this critical mind, this study would analyze the structural relationships among enterprises' innovative activities, the performance of technological innovation, a compensation system and the creation of employment, reflecting the correlation of the process of the actual technology management performed simultaneously, utilizing the seemingly unrelated regression(SUR) model to estimate a simultaneous equation in addition to analyzing the relationship between technological innovation and the effect on employment with the ordered logit model to estimate a single equation as in the preceding studies. As a result of the analysis, a structural relationship could be found out, in which the execution of the compensation system would increase the performances of technical development and technology commercialization, which in turn, accelerates enterprises' employment. Especially, it is judged that enterprises' employment performance increases when technological innovation is managed from a process perspective in that the commercialization performance, as well as technical development, acts as a kind of hurdle in the effect on employment.

80년대초 이후 기술혁신의 가속으로 중소기업에서도 기술변화에 대한 적응이 경쟁력의 유지를 위한 핵심과제가 되면서, OECD 국가는 중소기업에 대한 과학기술정보(科學技術情報)의 이전(移轉)을 촉진하는 정부지원을 확충하였다. 경제성과의 개선을 위해서는 기술혁신만이 아니라 기술혁신의 성과를 확산시키는 것도 중요하다는 인식으로 중소기업의 경쟁력향상에 기여하는 과학기술정보의 공급확대를 위하여 연구개발사업(硏究開發事業)에 대한 지원을 강화하는 동시에 중소기업에 대한 과학기술정보의 이전을 촉진하기 위하여 과학기술정보의 공급원(供給源)(대학, 시험연구기관 등)과 중소기업을 연결하는 다양한 중개(仲介)(촉매(觸媒))기관(機關)의 설립 운영을 지원하고 있다. 연구개발과 과학기술정보이전에 관한 과학기술공급원과 중소기업간의 인식의 차이를 해소하기 위하여 정보교환(情報交換)과 인적교류(人的交流)를 확대하고 과학기술공급원이 제공하는 지식을 중소기업이 이용하기 쉬운 기술로 변환하기도 한다. 이러한 기능을 중개기관이 효과적으로 수행하기 위해서는 중소기업 사업자와 신뢰관계(信賴關係)를 구축하는 것이 긴요하며, 기술변화를 인지 수용하도록 유도하는 초기단계에서는 중소기업의 네트워크를 통하여 접근하는 것이 효과적이다. 이러한 기술확산과정(技術擴散過程)의 특성으로 인하여 지역혁신체제(地域革新體制)의 구축과 기술혁신정책(技術革新政策)의 지역화(地域化)가 강조되고 있다. 최근에 통상산업부와 과학기술처도 기술혁신정책의 지역화를 시도하고 있다. 연구기반과 산업기반을 고려하여 지역별로 다양한 유형의 산학연 공동연구기반이 구축될 계획이다. 기술혁신정책의 지역화는 시도단계에 불과하며 효율적인 지역혁신체제를 구축하기 위한 여건도 불리하다. 선진국에 비하여 대학과 연구기관의 연구자원(硏究資源)에서도 현격한 차이가 있으나, 네트워크의 혁신성을 좌우하는 지식집약형 중소기업의 비중과 중소기업기술개발의 혁신성에서도 선진국에 비하여 절대열위에 있다. 이러한 불리한 여건을 극복하기 위하여 중소기업의 혁신현장에 밀착된 지역의 전문가집단이 지역경제의 비전과 지역산업의 특수성을 고려하여 지역연구개발사업(地域硏究開發事業)을 전략적으로 기획하고 효율적으로 추진하며, 기획 추진과정에 참여하는 지역대학 지역시험연구기관 지역산업단체 등이 구성하는 지역사회(地域社會)의 협의체(協議體)가 정보공유(情報共有)와 공동학습(共同學習)을 통하여 지역혁신체제의 형성을 주도하고 경쟁과 협력의 조화를 통하여 기술혁신을 가속시키는 지역사회(地域社會)의 규범(規範)과 문화(文化)가 정착되도록 노력하며 중앙정부는 지역연구개발사업에 대한 지원에서 투명하고 합리적인 평가기준을 제시하고 지역산업의 혁신성과에 의하여 지원을 차등화(差等化)하는 경쟁원리를 도입하여 지역사회의 합리적 의사결정을 유도해야 한다.

a본 논문에서는 과학기술정책연구원에서 조사한 2016년 한국기술혁신조사(KIS 2016) 데이터를 이용하여 한국 제조기업의 혁신성과에 영향을 미치는 혁신저해요인에 관한 분석을 진행하였다. KIS 2016 데이터의 제조업 기업 수는 4000개였는데 이 중 혁신 설문에서 제시한 혁신 저해요인 중 아무것도 겪지 않았다고 답한 기업과 응답이 누락된 기업을 제외한 3159개 기업의 데이터를 활용하여 분석을 진행하였으며, 분석 방법으로는 로지스틱 회귀모형을 사용하였다. 자료를 바탕으로 요인분석을 실시하였으며, 그에 따라 혁신 저해요인으로 자금 문제, 기업 역량 요인, 필요 요인 총 세 가지 요인이 추출되었다. 이를 바탕으로 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 자금 문제와 기업 역량 요인의 경우 혁신 제품의 시장 출시에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 필요 요인의 경우 음(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 기업의 혁신 성공에 있어서는 기술혁신의 필요성에 대한 인식 제고가 시급한 것으로 분석되었다.

This study focused on the study of the moderating effects of absorptive capacity(AC) of venture firms on the technological innovation performance(TIP). For this purpose, this study analyzed the relationship between entrepreneurship(ENT), innovation competence(INC), external cooperation(EXO) and AC affecting the performance of technological innovation activities in venture companies in the area of Busan. As a result of analysis, the AC showed a role of moderating processes, in which ENT have affected the INC, and ENT, INC, and EXO have affected the TIP. Secondly, several relationships which have positively influenced or mediated, have been presented. ENT has positively influenced INC, EXO, & TIC. INC have done so EXC & TIP. EXC have done so TIP. Each of INC and EXC has been positively mediating the relationship between ENT & TIP.

Extant studies have explained that firm's innovations including technological product and process innovations contribute to its competitive advantage and growth, thereby supporting competitiveness and growth of industry. These studies, however, have focused mainly on the role and effect of technological change that is primarily measured by the patent numbers and R&D intensity. Aside from these traditional streams, there has been growing interest on the impact by various dimensions of innovation including non-technological innovations. Apart from the discussions on the dimensions and scope of innovation, stages or processes of innovation also have been studied. Extant studies on innovation process model, however, has limited its interests in the structure of the transformation of knowledge. This study have established a comprehensive model embracing operational and financial performance to investigate the causal paths between innovation and firm performance. Using multi-level generalized linear model with path analysis, this study have found results as follows: First, the processes from innovative activities to innovation output and outcomes including operational and financial performance at firm level were verified. Secondly, the influence of innovation decreases gradually as the distance away from the direct outputs of the innovation increase in the direction of financial outcomes. Third, the effect of innovation on the sales growth rate is higher for small businesses than for medium-sized businesses. The effect of innovation on the profit rate, however, is significant only for medium-sized businesses. For large businesses, innovation has no positive significant impact on any financial performance at all. Fourth, Fourth, the appropriability of innovation has positive impacts on innovative performance, patent applications, and operational performance.

Chesbrough는 개방형 혁신이 촉진될수록 기업의 성과가 높아진다고 밝힌 바 있다. (Chesbrough 2006). 그리고 Laursen 외 (2006)는 영국 제조업 분석에서 기술집약도와 개방형 혁신의 폭이 역U형의 관계가 있다고 실증분석을 통해서 밝힌 바 있다. 그리고 윤진효 외(2008)도 한국의 성서 및 구미 클러스터 기업들을 대상으로 한 개방형 혁신과 성과간의 관계 실증분석에서 일반적으로 개방형 혁신이 커질수록 기업성과가 향상된다고 밝힌 바 있다. 그런데 Laursen 외 (2006)의 Working paper나 윤진효 외(2008) 모두 OECD 등의 기준에 의해 기업의 개방형 혁신과 성과간의 관계가 첨단산업과 비첨단산업별로 상이하게 나타나고 있음을 밝힌 바 있다. 본 연구는 부정확한 산업분류를 정교화하여 연구개발 집약도별로 기업군을 나누고 동 군별로 개방형 혁신과 기업성과간의 관계를 한국 기업들을 대상으로 실증 분석하고자 한다. 가설검증을 통해서 연구개발 집약도에 따라, 개방형 혁신과 기업성과간의 관계를 규명하고 기업의 개방형 기술혁신 전략을 제시하고자 한다.
