Trend of sound quality development in vehicles (자동차 음질 개발 동향)

  • 자동차에서 실내음질은 구매결정 요소들 중의 하나로 그 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있다. 따라서 다양한 운전조건에서 운전자가 기대하는 실내음질의 기대 수준을 충족시켜야 한다. 소비자는 운전경험과 습관에 따라 기대하는 음질에 차이가 있고 소리에 대한 표현방식도 모호하기 때문에 이러한 주관적 특성을 하나의 통일된 표현으로 정의 하기가 어렵다. 그러나 지난 이십여 년 동안의 음질개발과 차량 실내소음 주관평가의 통계처리로 통일된 표현을 할 수 있었다. 나아가 심리음향학 및 신호처리기술의 발달과 꾸준한 음질연구결과로 소리특성을 객관적으로 나타내는 소리의 시각화가 가능하였으며, 운전자가 인식하는 주관평가와의 상관관계를 높여 차량의 대표적인 음질인자로 정량화하여 음질목표를 설정할 수 있었다. 실내소음의 구성은 엔진 투과음, 흡배기 소음, 바람 소음, 도로 기인 소음 등으로 다양하므로 소음원에 따라 음의 균형을 맞추어 조화로운 음질개발을 하는 것이 중요했다. 또한 차량 판매되는 지역에 따라 선호음이 상이하여 지역별 실내음질의 차별화가 필요했다. 궁극적으로는 운전자의 감성품질을 만족할 수 있도록 음을 제어하여 브랜드 사운드를 개발하고 있다. 이러한 실내음질을 달성하기 위한 방법으로 소음원과 전달경로에 대해 기여도를 분석하고, 경로를 구성하는 시스템 별로 세분화하여 시스템 목표를 설정하였다. 시스템 개발에 중요한 인자로 차량의 동강성 및 흡차음 성능을 들 수 있다. 특히 디젤차량의 비중이 큰 유럽업체의 차량의 동강성 및 흡차음 개발 능력은 높게 평가되고 있다. 이에 유럽의 부품전문회사가 가지고 있는 해석과 시험적인 개발 방법을 통하여 전달계 특성을 만족하기 위한 시스템의 동강성 및 흡차음 특성을 개발하고 있다. 차량음질 튜닝의 중요한 기법 중 하나로 흡배기 개발을 추진하고 있다. 친환경자동차인 하이브리드차량, 전기차량 및 연료전지차량의 경우 전기구동부품에서 발생하는 각종 이음 발생을 최소화 했다. 보행자를 보호하고 운전의 즐거움을 향상하기 위한 가상사운드 개발을 진행하고 있다. 회사 수익성 향상을 위한 원가절감 및 구조 경량화에 따른 음질악화와 연비 향상 및 배기가스 규제 강화로 고성능 고출력 엔진탑재에 따른 음질악화 요인을 극복해야 했다. 운전자의 청감은 차량의 운전성에 따라서도 크게 영향을 받게 되므로 엔진제어와 변속기제어를 통해 음질과 운전성이 조화를 이룰 수 있도록 개발하고 있다. 향후, 소음원에 따른 시스템 최적화 개발, 운전성과 음질 연계 개발과 친환경차량의 가상사운드 개발 등이 자동차 음질 개발의 중요한 이슈로 생각한다.

  • Korea-China FTA was initialized in 2015. Korea has a high level of dependence on trade for its economic growth, especially to China. Technical Barriers to Trade(TBT) among various non-tariff barriers is becoming increasingly important. Elimination of TBT is one of the key issues in which the South Korean government is interested since technical barriers significantly affect trade between the two countries. MRA has been considered as an effective tool to relieve such technical barriers. Several studies and surveys showed that MRA would mitigate the barriers of import and solve the problems that many companies face in international market. This study tries to seek utilization plan of MRA for Korea-China FTA. It suggests suitable utilization plan of MRA considering the difference of technical regulations between two countries. This paper has value in that it provides specific MRA strategies targeting China while other prior studies have merely analyzed the necessity of MRA.

Evaluation of Limestone for In-Situ Desulfurization in CFB Boilers (순환유동층 보일러 로내 탈황을 위한 석회석 평가)

  • In order to meet more severe environmental regulations, oxy-fuel circulating fluidized bed(CFB) boilers or ultra supercritical CFB boilers, which are a kind of process in that solid particles moves similar to fluid, have been developed in the world. In CFB power generation processes, the method to reduce or remove sulfur dioxide is in-situ desulfurization reaction via limestone directly injected into CFB boilers. However, the desulfurization efficiencies have continuously changed because limestones injected into CFB boilers are affected by various operation conditions (Bed temperature, pressure, solid circulating rate, solid holdup, residence time, and so on). In this study, a prediction method with physical and chemical properties of limestone and operation conditions of CFB boiler for in-situ desulfurization reaction in CFB boilers has developed by integrating desulfurization kinetic equations and hydrodynamics equations for CFB previously published. In particular, the prediction equation for in-situ desulfurization was modified by using experimental results from desulfurization reactions of various domestic limestones.

  • This article summarizes the importance, definition, key strategies and future directions of sustainable packaging design.In modern society, sustainable packaging design is not only concerned with environmental protection and resource conservation, but also involves economic, social and cultural sustainable development.This paper explores strategies to reduce environmental burden and promote ecological balance by using environmentally friendly materials, optimizing packaging design, improving packaging recyclability and reuse. In addition, the article emphasizes the importance of design innovation, such as adopting a simplified design concept and modular system, as well as increasing the versatility of packaging.It also explores the application of life cycle assessment in packaging design to ensure that every step from design to disposal minimizes environmental impact. Finally, despite the environmental and social benefits that sustainable packaging design brings, it still faces technical, economic and regulatory challenges in practice.Future design will require interdisciplinary collaboration, integration of advanced technologies, consumer education and engagement, and enhanced policy and standard-setting to promote widespread adoption and practice of sustainable packaging.

The Effects of Reactive Nitrogen (Nr) Compounds on the Acidification in Soil and Water Environment Ecosystems and the Mitigation Strategy (반응성 질소화합물로 인한 토양 및 물 환경 생태계의 산성화 영향 및 대응방안)

  • The increases of industrial and technological development and human activities have disturbed the balance of natural nitrogen (N) circulation. These phenomena have induced that large amounts of N are to be present in excess in air, soil and water environment. We investigated the effects of excess of reactive nitrogen ($N_r$) compounds on soil and water environment ecosystems through literature and case studies, and suggested the strategy of mitigating the acidification in soil and water ecosystems. $N_r$ moves to air, soil and water media, can be converted to different types, and interacts with other chemical compounds. As an efficient N management plan, the evaluation (application of monitoring and safety index) and the chemical restoration (research and development) of the acidification in soil and water environment ecosystems are required to minimize the effects of $N_r$ as well as policies to regulate the various emission sources and amounts of $N_r$.

  • An automotive wheel bearing is important part that translates rotating motion and bears vehicle weight. Recently, in accordance with the demands for $CO_2$ emission reduction and fuel economy regulation, the requirements for the weight reduction and miniaturization of vehicles has increased. Therefore, life evaluation technology of the bearings has increased in necessity. Since the bearing life is affected by many parameters such as bearing geometry, bearing specifications, and vehicle specifications, it is difficult to predict. In this paper, the bearing life was tested by varying the applied load and rotation speed and comparing them with the basic rating life and modified rating life that were suggested in ISO standards. From the results, it was found that there was a difference between the test life and theoretical life and modified rating life than basic rating life was to be relatively well predicted by test life.

  • In this study, we investigate the cracks that formed on the upper floor of the structures due to continuous dynamic loading. We explain the cause of floor slab cracks on the upper floor of the distribution center and discuss preventive measures that can enhance the center's functions and security. In order to explain how a forklift's excessive vibration can cause the cracks, we have measured and analyzed the vibration during a forklift's operation and discovered that the cracks form because the vibration exceeds the vibration criteria. Using a finite element modeling on such results, we have come up with optimal methods to reduce the vibration and confirmed their validity by measuring the vibration after implementing our methods.

  • The utilization and value of drones are increasing throughout society. However, there was a lack of government support and investment such as lack of technology of domestic drone companies, regulation of loans and lack of technology evaluation items. Therefore, this paper conducts statistical analysis to derive what drone capacity should be strengthened for the drone industry activation in Daegu. As a result, the demand satisfaction(price, quality, service) of drones leads to revitalization of drone industry when the physical, social, and policy factors among drones are strengthened. In conclusion, drone capacity to be strengthened in order to revitalize the drone industry in Korea is based on physical factors(drone demand, development, number of registrations, number of businesses and workers), social factors(national level public relations, establishment of public education institutes, correct understanding of drone occupation, preception), policy factors(privacy measures, government funding, legislation and system easing). As for the three factors, the government, industry, and drone operators are expected to have a bright future when the trinity is improved and complemented.

  • 1886년 고트리브 다이믈러와 칼 벤즈가 가솔린 자동차를 개발한 이후 100여년이 지난 지금 자동차는 비약적으로 진보, 발전하여 현대 산업사회와 개인의 생활에 있어 산업운송수단과 이동수단으 로서 필요불가결하게 되어 밀접한 관계를 갖고 있다. 우리나라 자동차 공업의 역사는 자동차가 사회적, 경제적 효용에 따라 그 생산과 보유대수가 날이 갈수록 증가 일로에 있으며, 자동차의 생산대수는 전세 계에서 년간 약 50,606천대('94년)로서 중요한 국가 기간 산업으로 자리하고 있다. 한편 전기, 전자공업의 발전에 따른 자동차의 Car Electronics가 많이 채용되게 됨에 따라 현재의 자 동차에는 대부분이 전자제어 System으로 구성되어 있다. 최근에는 Micro Processor를 이용한 전자부품이 많이 사용되어 전자파에 대한 문제가 다양하게 발생 하고 있다. 예를 들면 미국 캘리포니아주에서 전자점화제어장치와 연료분사 장치를 설치한 구미의 자동 차가 주행중 28MHz, 28W의 아마추어 무선을 탑제한 자동차가 통과할 때 엔진이 고르지 못한 보고가 있 었고, 화학섬유로된 옷을 착용한 전자부품이 다른 부품에 영향을 주는 사례가 맣아지고 있다. 따라서 자동차에는 여러가지의 전장품, 전자기기를 탑재하기 때문에 자동차 자체에서 발생하는 것과 외부로 부터 받는 전자장해 EMI(Electromagnetic Interference), EMS(Electromagnetic Susceptibility) 가 문제로 되어 자동차 및 부품 maker에 의한 EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility) 평가의 중요성이 고조되고 있다. 차제무전기, 차제무전기, Car-Radio는잡음방해를 많이 받기도 하지만, 잡음원이 되기 도 한다. 또한 Engine 제어, 차속제어, Brake 제어등에 이용되는 전자제품은 방해에 의한 오동작 또는 파괴가 발생하여 주행기능, 안전성에 문제가 야기되지 않도록 해야 한다. 이러한 전자기 환경은 모두 RF(Radio Frequence)와 자동차에서의 전자파 장해 문제의 원이 될 수 있다. 자동차 및 그 부품의 전자기 방해에 관한 규격화는 1987년부터 괄목할 만하게 진행되어 이에 따른 규제 움직임이 IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission: 국제전기기술위원회) 산하의 하부기 구인 CISPR(International Special Committeeon Radio Interference: 국제 무선 장해 특별위원회)가 전자기 방해파에 대한 측정법 통일안을 제안 하였고, ISO(International Standardization Organiza- tion: 국제표준화 기구) 가운데 TC 22/SC3가 자동차의 전장품에 대한 장해를 논의히고 있다. 특히, 자동차의 EMC에 관한 국가 규격은 국제 규격에서 저술한 바와 같이 특별히 규정된 것이 없고 VDE(Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker: 서독전기기술 협회)와 SAE(Society of Automotive Engi- neers: 자동차 기술자 협회)에서 비교적 활발하고 Jaso(Japanese Automobile Standards Organization: 일본 자동차 표준협회)에서 많이 진행중에 있다. 본 고에서는 자동차의 전자제어에 따른 잡음 발생 요인과 전자파 간섭 관련 자동차 규격과 시험평가 방법에 대해 간단히 소개 하였다.

Non-invasive Brain Stimulation and its Legal Regulation - Devices using Techniques of TMS and tDCS - (비침습적 뇌자극기술과 법적 규제 - TMS와 tDCS기술을 이용한 기기를 중심으로 -)

  • TMS and tDCS are non-invasive devices that treat the diseases of patients or individual users, and manage or improve their health by applying stimulation to a brain through magnetism and electricity. The effect and safety of these devices have proved to be valid in several diseases, but research in this area is still much going on. Despite increasing cases of their application, legislations directly regulating TMS and tDCS are hard to find. Legal regulation regarding TMS and tDCS in the United States, Germany and Japan reveals that while TMS has been approved as a medical device with a moderate risk, tDCS has not yet earned approval as a medical device. However, the recent FDA guidance, European MDR changes, recalls in the US, and relevant legal provisions of Germany and Japan, as well as recommendations from expert groups all show signs of tDCS growing closer to getting approved as a medical device. Of course, safety and efficacy of tDCS can still be regulated as a general product instead of as a medical device. Considering multiple potential impacts on a human brain, however, the need for independent regulation is urgent. South Korea also lacks legal provisions explicitly regulating TMS and tDCS, but they fall into the category of the grade 3 medical devices according to the notifications of the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. And safety and efficacy of TMS are to be evaluated in compliance with the US FDA guidance. But no specific guidelines exist for tDCS yet. Given that tDCS devices are used in some hospitals in reality, and also at home by individual buyers, such a regulatory gap must quickly be addressed. In a longer term, legal system needs to be in place capable of independently regulating non-invasive brain stimulating devices.
