To date, the literature has focused on formal R&D activities, such as internal, joint or external R&D, but informal R&D activities, such as job training or design, can also have a positive impact on technological innovation. To address this research gap, this paper examined 1) the influence of informal R&D activities on innovation adoption, and 2) the differences between formal R&D-oriented and informal R&D-oriented firms in process and product innovation. For this, statistical analysis was conducted using the data set from 2012 Korea Innovation Survey. The results suggest that 1) informal R&D activities can influence process innovation, and 2) firms engaging in both informal and formal R&D actively adopt product innovation. Findings suggest that 1) firms should recognize the importance of informal R&D and 2) national R&D policy should reflect the positive role of informal R&D in technological innovation.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 상장기업들의 기업규모 및 시장지배력이 연구개발투자활동에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. 가설검증을 위하여 1997년 3월말 현재 한국증권거래소에 상장된 72개 제조기업을 대상으로 상관분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 실증분석결과 연구개발투자 활동은 기업규모와 관련성이 크며, 기업규모가 일정 크기에 이를 때까지는 연구개발 활동이 증가하지만, 일단 그 선을 넘어서면 기업 규모에 비례해서 증가하지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 시장지배력을 나타내는 시장집중률 및 시장점유율과 연구개발 활동간에는 유의한 부(-)의 효과가 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고, 매출액성장률과 연구개발투자 활동간에는 분명한 관계를 확인할 수가 없었으나, 기술기회는 연구개발 활동과 예상대로 정(+)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타나 성장기회가 높은 산업일수록 연구개발 활동이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구는 기업의 규모 및 시장지배력이 연구개발투자 활동에 미치는 영향을 우리나라 기업을 중심으로 실증적으로 검증함으로서 기술혁신을 위한 산업조직 및 개별기업의 연구개발 투자를 위한 의사결정과 관련한 시사점을 제공한 점에 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to develop STEAM hand-on activity task for middle school manufacturing & automation unit. This study was conducted following three stages. First of all, I carried out documents research and requirements analysis. And the goals for STEAM hand-on activity were set at this stage. Second, topics for STEAM hand-on activity were selected, and the organized for designing hand-on activity related STEAM in the development step. Finally, pilot and field test were conducted in order to amend and/or complement in improvement step. The theme and/or title of the hand-on activities were 'Making the print using wood', 'Making the close up photography & telephoto lens for smart phone'. The STEAM hand-on activities were designed for ten hours for each subject respectively. Each hand-on activity consists of problem situation, objectives statement, materials and tools, an evaluating criteria, related knowledge, portfolio and so on.

본 연구는 기술사업화 역량과 외부기술획득활동이 신제품개발성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구이다. 최근의 기술창업기업은 기존 조직 내부의 기술들 이외에 외부의 다양한 기술들을 들여와 기존 기술과 융 복합하여 기술 사업화를 도모하여 치열한 글로벌 경제 환경 속에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위해 노력하고 있다. 정책적으로도 글로벌 경쟁력과 첨단기술을 갖춘 중소 벤처기업 육성 안이 대거 포함되어 기술기반의 기술창업기업을 창출하고 육성하여 기술사업화를 촉진하고 있다. 이와 더불어 기술사업화의 핵심적 요소로 간주되고 있는 기술사업화역량 및 외부기술획득활동은 여러 측면에서 연구되고 있다. 따라서 현 시점에서 기술기반의 기술창업기업의 창출과 지속적인 성장을 위해 기술사업화 역량과 외부기술획득활동이 신제품개발 성과에 미치는 영향을 검증함으로써 궁극적으로 기술창업기업의 신제품개발성과 향상을 위하여 어떤 노력을 해야 하는가를 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 기술창업기업을 대상으로 자료를 수집, 실증분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과는 향후 기술기반의 기술창업 기업의 기술사업화 역량과 외부기술획득활동이 신제품개발성과 향상을 위한 시사점을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 성공적인 기술사업화에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구 확산에도 기여할 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.

지식경영 관점에서 볼 때 기업의 기술혁신활동은 지식창출의 비중이 가장 높은 기업활동이며, 서로 다른 영역의 지식 통합이 중요한 지식경영 활동이다. 따라서 연구개발조직의 기술혁신 활동은 지식 경영 이론을 통하여, 잘 설명될 수 있는 분야라 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 한국의 기업들을 대상으로 하여 기술혁신과정의 지식경영활동이 기술능력 축적에 어떠한 영향을 주었는지에 대하여 조사하였다. 기존문헌의 분석을 바탕으로 기술혁신과정에서 발생하는 5가지 지식경영활동과 지식경영활동의 영향요인을 도출하고, 이후 지식경영활동과 기술능력의 향상 정도를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 지식공유, 지식활용, 결과성찰 세 가지 지식경영활동이 기술능력 증가와 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 제시되었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 결론, 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

선진국의 경제구조가 서비스경제로 전환됨에 따라 고부가가치를 낼 수 있는 지식기반 (Knowledge-based) 또는 기술기반 (Technology-based) 서비스의 중요성이 부각되고 있으며 서비스 기업들간의 경쟁도 매우 치열해지고 있다. 서비스 기업들은 보다 차별화 된 고객가치를 창출하고 미래의 핵심역량을 확보하기 위해 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있으나 제조기업과는 달리 대부분의 서비스 기업들에게 연구개발 (Research and Development, R&D)이라는 개념은 매우 생소한 상태이다. 최근 유럽을 중심으로 서비스기업의 연구개발에 관한 논의가 활발히 진행되고 있지만 서비스기업의 특성을 포괄하는 연구개발에 대한 정의를 내리는 수준에 머물고 있다. 최근 우리나라 정부에서도 서비스 연구개발에 관한 정책입안을 위해 연구를 진행하고 있는바, 서비스기업에서의 연구개발에 대한 정의, 조직, 예산, 활동영역, 산출물 및 이에 따른 정책적 지원 등에 관한 학계에서의 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 서비스기업의 연구개발활동을 도출하고 연구개발투자와 기업성과와의 관계를 분석함으로써 효과적인 연구개발 투자규모를 도출하는 것이 목표이다. 이 때 서비스기업의 연구개발활동이라 함은 연구개발 대상, 수행조직, 연구개발의 중요성이 포함된다. 또한 연구개발투자와 1-2년 후의 매출 및 순이익의 변화를 분석한다. 실증분석을 위해 기술기반 서비스를 대표하는 국내 IT서비스 기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 다양한 통계분석을 활용하였다. 연구결과 대부분의 서비스 기업 응답자가 연구개발의 중요성을 크게 느끼고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 기업마다 부서별 또는 중앙 연구개발센터를 중심으로 다양한 연구개발활동을 수행하고 있으며 연구개발투자가 기업성과로 연계되기 위해서는 최고경영자의 관심이 가장 중요한 요인인 것으로 지적되었다. 가장 효과적인 연구개발 투자규모는 매출액 대비 15-19%인 것으로 분석되었는데 이는 벤처기업의 특성을 갖는 중소 IT서비스 기업들의 참여가 많았기 때문일 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구의 결과는 우리나라 서비스기업들이 미래준비를 위한 활동을 전개함에 있어 고려해야 할 주요 요인들을 제시해 줄 것이다.

일본에 특허제도가 탄생된지 100여년, 기업의 특허관리활동의 중요성은 논할 필요도 없을 정도이다. 그러나 기술개발경쟁의 격화와 함께 각사의 특허관리활동의 소산인 특허정보는 비약적으로 증대하고 있고, 특허정보활동이 기업에 있어 특허관리활동 가운데 차지하는 비중이 증대해가고 있는 실정이다. 이 특허정보활동에 관해서 각기업마다 자기업에 맞는 특유의 활동을 전개하고 있지만, 이 회사에 있어서도 이 회사체질에 맞는 특허정보관리활동을 전개하고 있다. 이 회사의 특허정보활동에 대해서는 특이한 개성이 있다고는 할 수 없지만 전사적으로 중요성을 인식하는 고유책을 여러가지로 지속 시도하고 있다.

In viewing R&D as a series of activities of problem solving in the course of technological learning in developing countries, national R&D is very likely to play an pivotal role in incubating and improving industrial technology and competitiveness, especially for S&T-intensive industries, such as nuclear fuel industry. To this end, the national R&D needs to be primarily designed to reinforce technological capabilities of the country including government research institutes (GRIs), industrial firms, etc., from the initial stage of absorption as well as at the innovation stage. Based on this strategic role, national R&D performed by GRIs should provide scientific knowledge and core technologies which are required for the absorbption of foreign technology and development of indigenous technological capabilities with which domestic technological efforts are made to successfully achieve not only technological imitation but also innovation in global sense.
