The objectives of this study are to determine the full extent of the negative media reports and to broaden public awareness through content analysis. Samples of this study are news reports on vibrio on three major broadcasting companies such as MBC, KBS and SBS and three major national newspapers such as Chosun daily, Joongang daily and Donga daily in Korea for 5 years from January 1st in 2000 to December 31st in 2004. Total 628 cases were searched through from the web sites of fore mentioned TV and newspaper companies. It is highly advised to adhere to the proven fact as much as possible and full and thorough research on the outcome should be sought by media before they reach to the public.

방사성폐기물 관리시설에 관한 신문의 관심은 매우 컸으며, 3개월 동안에 480건의 기사를 8개 신문에서 실었다. 사설도 38건이었으나 상황과 사안에 따라 모든 신문이 정형화된 내용과 비판을 하였다. 기사는 대부분 정부의 보도 자료에 의존한 하거나, 시위소식 등을 전하는 단순사안이었고, 심층보도는 이 사업 추진에 가장 큰 장애요소가 되고 있는 지역주민과 시민단체의 반대논리와 여론을 이해할 수 있도록 전달하지 못하였다. 특히 가장 쟁점이 될 수 있는 방사성폐기물의 위험과 안전에 대해서는 68건의 심층 보도 가운데 17건에서만 언급되고 있었는데, 그 내용도 위험성과 안전에 대한 해설이나 분석기사는 아니었다. 결과적으로 신문은 정부와 지역주민간의 갈등을 해결하는 조화의 장을 이끌어 내거나 제공하지 못하였고, 찬성과 반대 측 전문가들에게 공론의 장을 제공하여 사회적 합의를 도출하는데 기여하지는 못하였다. 오히려 많은 기사 보도의 남발로 방사성폐기물 관리시설에 대한 부정적인 이미지를 부각시키는 영향만 남았다고 판단된다.

이번 기사에서는 반복하중 하에서의 철근 콘크리트 구조물의 비선형 유한요소해석에 관한 연구를 정리한 CEB 보고서를 소개하고자 한다. 보고서의 분량이 190쪽으로 번역기사의 내용으로는 많지만, 매우 유익한 내용이라 생각되어 선택하였으며, 구체적인 수식은 생략하고 전반적인 내용의 흐름을 위주로 정리했다. 이 보고서의 내용은 콘크리트의 압축거동, 콘크리트의 인장거동, 철근의 거동, 콘크리트와 철근의 부착, 철근과 콘크리트 혹은 콘크리트와 콘크리트의 경계면 거동, 그리고 철근콘크리트의 유한요소모델링 등으로 이루어져 있다.

The editorial elements which are used in this paper are made up of news categories, photograph articles, titles of article written bold strokes and contents of article. Of these elements, only the three elements of photographic articles, the titles of article written bold strokes and contents of article had some effects on the choice of articles. For the portal news, only the news categories, the titles of article written bold strokes and the name of newspaper had an effect on the choice of articles. Of the news genres such as politics, business, social affairs, sports, culture/entertainment, world news and IT/science, only the three genres of social affairs, culture/entertainment and world news had some effects on news users' choice. For the difference between man group and woman group in analyzing the choice of articles, there was the difference in four elements of business, sports, culture/entertainment and IT/science.

우리나라 신문사중에서 가장 먼저 과학부가 독립부서로 설치된 곳은 한국일보사로 1958년 3월1일 이었다. 그때 견습기자로 한국일보에 입사한 필자는 과학기술기사 발굴에 심혈을 기울였지만 과학기술기사를 독자가 알기 쉽고 재미있게 쓴다는 것은 쉬운일이 아니었다. 기사를 서서 편집부에 넘기면 기사가 재미없다거나 내용이 신통치 않다고 칼질하기가 일쑤였다. 아인슈타인은 전문용어를 쓰지않고도 쉽게 설명했다는데 우리도 과학기술기사를 쉽고 재미있게 쓰는 지혜가 아쉽다.

뉴스 데이터를 구조적으로 분할하고 의미적으로 분류하여 내용별로 세분화하여 검색하는 방법을 제안한다. 구조적 분할은 공간 밝기 분포와 명암도의 불연속성 그리고 시간적인 관계 등 프레임간의 상관 정보를 이용하여 장면을 분할한다. 의미적 분류는 키 프레임에서 추출된 특징 정보를 사전 지식 정보와 비교하여 뉴스 비디오의 세부 내용을 기사별로 분류한다. 뉴스의 진행이 앵커 프레임을 중심으로 주기적으로 반복된다는 특징을 이용하여 앵커 장면과 비 앵커 장면으로 기사를 분류한다. 비 앵커 장면은 연설장면, 인터뷰장면, 일반 장면으로 세분화하고 기사별로 분류하여 검색하도록 한다. 또한 뉴스 아이콘에 의한 요약 검색 기능 그리고 자막 통합 처리에 의한 자막 검색을 하여 뉴스 비디오를 내용별로 분류하고 인덱싱하여 신속하게 뉴스 비디오를 검색할 수 있도록 설계한다.

Conceptions toward the artistically gifted were investigated through analyzing newspaper articles from 5 major newspapers for 14 years beginning from 1999 to 2013. There were a total of 1,281 articles having to do with artistically gifted, and showed a steady increase in number of articles as the years went by. Largest number of articles were about musically gifted, and an increase in number of articles were observed following new implementations in law and policy. Implications for education and policy development for the artistically gifted are discussed.

This study examined the problem of utilizing celebrity SNS in online news, which have increased by an average of 745 every year since 2010, reaching about 10,000 in 2021. 40 online newspapers were selected and 202,730 news articles produced by these newspapers in July 2021 were analyzed. As a result, 1.27% (2,582) of all articles were found to be using celebrity SNS as a source. This indicates that on average, online newspapers produce 2.08 celebrity SNS-utilized articles per day and 64.7 articles per month. Specifically, entertainer SNS (53.7%) was used the most compared to SNS of politician(39.8%) and influencer(6.5%). Instagram(69.1%, 57.1%) was utilized the most for entertainer and influencer and this were mostly related to personal information. On the other hand, Facebook(70.4%) was cited the most for politician, mostly related to opinions on social/political issues. The average length of SNS-based articles was 536 characters. The problem with news articles utilizing SNS is that most articles simply copy the SNS content without additional coverage(88.4%), and 14% of the articles did not disclose the exact source. Implication of the research on 40 online news agency is discussed.
