The empirical survey results show that 37% (83 firms) of respondents among 222 companies has participated in direct giving to the social welfare activities by various methods and types. The bigger amount of last fiscal year's sales, the more amount of gifts to social welfare activities. The average amount of gifts was \ one billion forty-six million per company in the monetary tenn which is 0.06% of the last FY's average sales of respondents. The most frequently implemented program of the corporates' social welfare activities was 'scholarship to unprivileged adolescent', while the program which the largest amount of gifts were donated was 'support for the social welfare agencies'. For the participation methods, most corporates implement social welfare program directly, and the rest of the companies take the methods of supporting the existing social welfare agencies and institutions. The cash benefit was salient for the modes of gift transfer. Funding sources for the gifts were various such as certain portion of the amount of sales, pretax-profits, or posttax profits, and even rare, independently established funds for the social welfare activities. • This article assesses and examines democratic potentials of the Internet for U.S. citizens' political participation. The empirical analysis on the data from Pew Research Center's questionnaire survey focuses on four different political activities in both online and offline modes: casual political talk, contact with a government official, petition, and political contribution. The study answers two research inquiries: 1) How does the Internet influence the established patterns of political participation?; and 2) How does the Internet influence the demographic distribution of participatory inequality? Firstly, the Internet, by providing existing participants with additional tools for participation, reinforces conventional participation, rather than mobilizing new participation in politics. Secondly, the online patterns of the participation divide with respect to demographic characteristics imitate the traditional patterns of inequality and disproportionate representativeness in political participation. The Internet is still not a predominant medium for political activities. Citizens' utilization of its transformative and mobilizing potentials remains limited.

Then we applied them to elementary students for enhancing their interest and participation to class activities.

  • "Positive Influence(PI)" of popular star has recently emerged as a social concern, but the lack of prior research has led to confusion over its concept and range of activity. On this point, this study carried out to lay the groundwork for discussions on the systematization of related theories, focused on identifying the current situations by analyzing articles for 15 months from January 2019 to March 2020 when related reports were in full swing. As a result of the analysis of the remarks from the entertainers mentioned in the articles, they were not clearly aware of the concept while doing good deeds under the name of PI in light of the study outcome by Aegean and Singer(2013). The motivations for good deed were classified into six types, including difficulty empathy, fandom reward, participation urge, nidana emphasis, experience subjugation, and memory evocation in the order of frequency of cases. Specific behaviors of PI were followed by donations of money and valuables for 54.4 percent, participation of social agendas for 14.0 percent, volunteering for 13.2 percent, joining campaign for 11.4 percent, other good deeds for 4.0 percent, and philanthropy for 3.0 percent. In occupational analysis, the concentration of donations was also evident. Their activities in the fields of human rights sensitivity, environmental protection and self-management, which are expected to have great effects with their influence, have been extremely poor. The results of the study first require academia to establish a interdisciplinary concept for PI. It also suggests that entertainers and their agencies should take far more strategic approach to evolve the PI event in a way that utilizes the advantages of each job group, such as actors, singers and comedians, and expands the diversity of areas.

  • Mecenat is a company support to cultural and artistic activities. It has developed as not only a patronage of the arts but also a strategic method for a business performance and a company's influence. And mecenat has impacted on customers, interested parties, local communities, and corporate culture. This study analyzes how individual and organizational interests and participation on Mecenat activities affect organizational trust, commitment, and loyalty. As a result of surveys from 438 employees, there would be a pro rata increase in an employee's interest and participation in Mecenat, if organizational interest goes up. The interest also affects trust in organization, organizational commitment, and employee loyalty in a positive method. The result clearly indicates necessity of company's support for cultural and artistic activities and importance of changing company's perspectives. Hence companies would be recognized that supporting Mecenat activities would strengthen organizational culture.

  • Firms initiate philanthropic activities to improve social welfare that is beyond the scope of their responsibility towards society. Forestry activities, among other philanthropic areas, simultaneously improve corporate environment and social performance and provide the opportunity to cooperate for a large number of employees. Firms can effectively contribute to forest conservation with their financial and human resources. To encourage participation of more firms, we need to understand how and why firms engage in such activities. This study aims to explore different types of philanthropic forestry activities that these firms undertake. Corporate philanthropic activities can be categorized as donation, in-house project, or collaboration according to the governance type. We analyzed Yuhan-Kimberly's forestry campaign to investigate how and why the firm engaged in each type. We also propose some practical implications for firms, government, and non-profit organizations to invigorate firm's participation in philanthropic forestry activities.
