The purpose of this study is to analyze the style and the subject of the teaching kits published by the National Archives in the Australia, the USA. and the UK. The teaching kits-the educational document packets-made in printed format or PDF, HTML style are useful tools and better medium with which the national archives support classroom study and publicize the holdings of archives to students and teachers. Although subjects covered in the teaching kits vary slightly according to national circumstances, primary topics are history of nation and government, civil rights, immigration, war, events, culture, and records, etc. It is important to select the theme, find the related original records, and edit packets for students take much interest in.

This study proposes an education program using presidential archives to develop the multiple intelligence of children and the youth based on the multiple intelligence theory and the resource-based learning theory. To accomplish this, we performed a literature review and interviews with an archivist working in the Presidential Archive in Korea. This study compared and analyzed the Presidential Archives' education programs between the U.S. and Korea. This study can be useful and valuable in developing education programs in two areas, with the first area being the fact that the proposed program could help learners improve academic abilities by developing multiple intelligence and the second area being the fact that the program could increase the awareness of the importance of presidential archives. With the proposed program, the utilization of presidential archives can be facilitated.

The purpose of this study is to prepare a plan for the improvement of the tasks of record managers in offices of education by understanding the details of their work; analyzing the importance, difficulty, and performance frequency of their tasks; and investigating their working environment and the problems of record management in offices of education. For this purpose, through a literature review and an analysis of related conditions, this study drew out 5 task domains and 24 detailed record management tasks in offices of education. To investigate the level of importance, difficulty, and performance frequency of the drawn-out task domains and task factors, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on record managers working in offices of education and analyzed the survey results using the IPA technique by crossing the level of importance, difficulty, and performance frequency. Based on the survey results, to improve the tasks of record managers in offices of education, and strengthen their task competency, a plan for improvement was suggested.

This study aims to develop the records management standard table of the college of education through mapping transaction and records folder based on identifying the problems of the college of education. For these purpose, the study analyzed the records classification system of the all college of education. And then, drew out the business transaction items for records management standard table of the college of education based on the records management standard table of the local governments. Consequently, based on analysis, this study developed the records management standard table and suggested efficient management plan to apply Business Reference Model(BRM) to the college of education in 2017.

This study aims to discuss policy alternatives for improving the curriculum of archival studies. As a theoretical study, it organized classical professional theories such as Greenwood and Good and confirmed that the archival professionals met all six criteria for professional occupations claimed by Perk. However, from the perspective that professionalism is not completed at any point in time, but is a constant pursuit, education and training of archival professionals, and the legal system that supports it, were analyzed. In addition, the case of the British ARA and the US ACA, which are implementing a professional certification system, was analyzed in the context that professionals should set their own standards for education and training to protect their authority and have norms for professional communities. In conclusion, policy alternatives centered on the academic training guidelines and the certification system were presented.

In this paper, under the assumption that the documents related to the Military and Political Government of the Government of Japan are an important record that should be recorded as social memories of the time, the Ministry of Education's history textbook, In the white paper (Appendix) issued by the Investigation Committee, we analyzed the main contents of the records produced by the organization responsible for the history textbooks and the management of them, which were presented as evidence of the power abuse of the Park Geun-hye Government.

This study aims to examine the current status of school archives and suggest improvements. To do that, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven principals of schools in J city, which participated in the School Archives Project initiated by 'J' Office of Education, and a record manager in charge of the project. The interviews consist of four parts: 1) perceptions about the overall project, 2) acquisition of historical manuscripts of the schools, 3) arrangement and preservation of the historical manuscripts, and 4) services in the school archives. The results found that the principals had difficulties in managing the archives by themselves and requested continual financial and human resource support from the J Office of Education. This study suggests the future direction of the School Archives Project as well as recommendations for improving the current status of manuscript management in the schools.

Standards-curriculum based archival contents for education is the best effective teaching and learning units for historical thinking abilities. This paper purposes a developing procedures of an archival contents for education that is theoretical instructions of developing an archival contents for education by the National Archives of Korea. This paper can be used of the theoretical bases for the National Archives of Korea by proposing the methodology of development of an archival contents for education. The developing procedures of an archival contents for education is the same with the procedures of developing an e-learning contents that has planning, analyzing, designing, developing and assessing steps but it is characterized by an archival contents for education that is curriculum standards analysis, collection analysis, and detailed design for structured formats in effective-accomplishments for teaching-learning objectives. I propose the procedures for determining teaching-learning subjects that enable the development of an archival contents for education by curriculum standards analysis. I also propose the procedures for deriving the key words from the teaching-learning subjects. Collection analysis methods analyze key records that correspond to the learning subjects according to the selection criteria of primary sources. In the steps of designing, titles of contents and contents structures have to be determined and storyboards based on flowchart of learning have to be made of according to the results of analyses. In the steps of developing contents, making a copy of primary sources like a original is the key points. And also in the steps of assessment, products of teaching-learning contents to effectively achieve the teaching-learning objectives have to be estimated by the appraisal board. Finally I propose that user's survey research after the services have to be reflected on contents updates and new developments of contents.

Korea has the glorious documentary cultural heritage including Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, Memory of the World, from old times. But We had been felt into serious situation, it is very difficult to find some records of late years, through rapid changes of society in modern history. Fortunately, in 1999, "law of archives management in public sector" was enacted but It is some difficult to apply to field. Accordingly, We studied archives laws and record management systems, education systems in Japan and China, neighborhood countries and compared them with Korea's. Life cycle of Gathering, Managing, Using records & archives is reflected in China's archives law, "Dangan" and It is useful to referred to Korea. On the other hand, Japan and Korea's archives law focus on administering and capturing records and archives. In case of Management agency of archives, China has a linear managing system from state to regional agency and Japan and Korea have different system in State and Region. We recommend following items ; reform archives law, status of government archives, professional education and arrangement etc.

This study examines the status quo of Korean archives and records management from the Governmental as well as professional activities for the development of the field in relation to the new legislation on records management. Among many concerns, this study primarily explores the following four perspectives: 1) the Government Archives and Records Services; 2) the Korean Association of Archives; 3) the Korean Society of Archives and Records Management; 4) the Journal of Korean Society of Archives and Records Management. One of the primary tasks of the is to build the special depository within which the Presidential Library should be located. As a result, the position of the GARS can be elevated and directed by an official at the level of vice-minister right under a president as a governmental representative of managing the public records. In this manner, GARS can sustain its independency and take custody of public records across government agencies. made efforts in regard to the preservation of paper records, the preservation of digital resources in new media formats, facilities and equipments, education of archivists and continuing, training of practitioners, and policy-making of records preservation. For further development, academia and corporate should cooperate continuously to face with the current problems. has held three international conferences to date. The topics of conferences include respectively: 1) records management and archival education of Korea, Japan, and China; 2) knowledge management and metadata for the fulfillment of archives and information science; and 3) electronic records management and preservation with the understanding of ongoing archival research in the States, Europe, and Asia. The Society continues to play a leading role in both of theory and practice for the development of archival science in Korea. It should also suggest an educational model of archival curricula that fits into the Korean context. The Journals of Records Management & Archives Society of Korea have been published on the six major topics to date. Findings suggest that "Special Archives" on regional or topical collections are desirable because it can house subject holdings on specialty or particular figures in that region. In addition, archival education at the undergraduate level is more desirable for Korean situations where practitioners are strongly needed and professionals with master degrees go to manager positions. Departments of Library and Information Science in universities, therefore, are needed to open archival science major or track at the undergraduate level in order to meet current market demands. The qualification of professional archivists should be moderate as well.
