A Study on the Cause and Improvement of Crack in the Installing Structure of the Bulkhead of Aircraft (항공기 Bulkhead 체결구조의 균열 원인 및 개선에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to determine the cause of structural defects occurring during aircraft operations and to verify the structural integrity of the improved features. The fracture plane was analyzed to verify the characteristics of the cracks and the fatigue failure leading to the final fracture was determined by the progress of the cracks by the repeated load. During aircraft operations, the comparative analysis of the load measurement data at the cracks with the aircraft design load determined that the measured load was not at the level of 30% of the design to be capable of being damaged. A gap analysis resulted in a significant stress of approximately 32 ksi at the crack site. Pre-Load testing also confirmed that the M.S. was reduced by more than 50% from +0.71 to +0.43, resulting in a sharp increase in aircraft load and the possibility of cracking when combined. Thus, structural reinforcement and the removal of the gap for aircraft cracking sites improved the defect. Based on the structural strength analysis of the improvement features, the bulkhead has a margin of about +0.88 and the fitting feature is about +0.48 versus allowable stress. In addition, the life analysis results revealed an improvement of approximately 84000 hours.

Photon Mapping-Based Rendering Technique for Smoke Particles (연기 파티클에 대한 포톤 매핑 기반의 렌더링 기법)

  • To realistically produce fluids such as smoke for the visual effects in the films or animations, we need two main processes: a physics-based modeling of smoke and a rendering of smoke simulation data, based on light transport theory. In the computer graphics community, the physics-based fluids simulation is generally adopted for smoke modeling. Recently, the interest of the particle-based Lagrangian simulation methods is increasing due to the advantages at simulation time, instead of the grid-based Eulerian simulation methods which was widely used. As a result, because the smoke rendering technique depends heavily on the modeling method, the research for rendering of the particle-based smoke data still remains challenging while the research for rendering of the grid-based smoke data is actively in progress. This paper focuses on realistic rendering technique for the smoke particles produced by Lagrangian simulation method. This paper introduces a technique which is called particle map, that is the expansion and modification of photon mapping technique for the particle data. And then, this paper suggests the novel particle map technique and shows the differences and improvements, compared to previous work. In addition, this paper presents irradiance map technique which is the pre-calculation of the multiple scattering term in the volume rendering equation to enhance efficiency at rendering time.

The three dimensional measuring system for ELF magnetic fields with the multiturn loop-type sensors (멀티턴 루우프형 센서를 이용한 3차원 ELF 자장측정계)

  • With the three dimensional magnetic field measuring system dealt with in this paper, accurate measurements and analyses of extremely low frequency(ELF) magnetic fields caused by starting and/or operating electric devices and power installations can be conducted. To obtain high performance for lower frequency and spatial components without any distortion, the measuring system is designed as three dimensionally including the multiturn loop-type magnetic field sensors, differential amplifiers and active integrators. As the results of calibration experiments, the frequency response characteristics of the measuring system range from 8[Hz] to about 53[kHz] for each direction of x, y, z axes, and the response sensitivities are 9.54, 9.21, $10.89[mV/{\mu}T]$, respectively. The actual survey experiments by using an oscillating impulse current generator confirm a reliability of the proposed measuring system. Also, through the other experiments by using small-sized induction motors, the magnetic field intensities when starting and steady-state operating mark 15.8, $8.61[{\mu}T]$ as maximum value, respectively. And those intensities decrease steeply according as the measuring distance increases.

Calculation of Gamma-ray Energy Spectrum for Spherical BGO Scintillation Detector (구형 BGO 섬광 검출기에 대한 감마선 에너지 스펙트럼 계산)

  • The ${\gamma}$-ray deposition spectra were calculated by Monte Calro method to obtain the scintillation characteristics of the ${\gamma}$-ray for BGO scintillation detector with the spherical shape of 1.25 cm radius. The code used in calculating the ${\gamma}$-ray deposition spectra was made for personal computer with qbasic language. Also the ${\gamma}$-ray energy spectra of $^{22}Na$, $^{137}Cs$ and $^{207}Bi$ were measured with the detector. The energy dependent resolution below 2000 keV for the detector was determined by estimating the standard deviation of the photopeak fitted with gaussian function, and $X^{2}$ fitting using Nardi's empirical formula. The measured spectra of $^{22}Na$ and $^{137}Cs$ were compared with the broadened spectra which were obtained by broadening the calculated ${\gamma}$-ray deposition spectra with the energy dependent resolution. The absolute efficiency and the intrinsic peak efficiency of the detector were obtained by calculating the ${\gamma}$-ray deposition spectrum with the code.

Impact Condition of Safety Performance Evaluation for Longitudinal Barriers of SMART Highway (스마트하이웨이 종방향 방호울타리안전성능 평가를 위한 충돌조건)

  • To minimze the degree of damage for the SMART highway's punctuality and safety after car-barrier collisions, the impact condition for longitudinal barriers of SMART highway was determined to be quite larger than the existing maximum impact condition. The impact condition consists of impact vehicles, impact velocities, and impact angles. To consider the occupant safety of passenger cars as much as possible, a small car with high risk during impact was selected as the impact vehicle for the evaluation of occupant risk. The impact velocity was determined to be 20% larger than the existing maximum impact velocity in order to include accident impact velocities as much as possible. The impact angle was determined to include most of expected accident impact angles. Computer simulations using various impact conditions were conducted for the existing domestic highest-performance medium and roadside barrier. How the suggested impact condition has an effect on the occupant safety was investigated. The existing domestic highest-performance medium and roadside barriers could not satisfy the suggested impact condition. New high-performance longitudinal barriers are required to minimize the degree of damage for the SMART highway's punctuality and safety after car-barrier collisions.

Community Analysis Based on Functional Feeding Groups of Benthic Macro Invertebrate in Wangpi-cheon (왕피천 저서성 대형무척추동물의 섭식기능군을 이용한 군집분석)

  • Community analysis based on functional feeding groups of benthic macro invertebrates at Wangpi-cheon was assessed with the result of four field survey from October, 2007 to May, 2008. A total 138 species of benthic macro invertebrates in 58 families, 16 orders, 6 classes, and 4 phyla were collected during the field surveys. The result of EPT index value showed high value of 61.59% and it means that the stream ecosystem of Wangpi-cheon is very clear and healthy. In this study the functional feeding groups in Wangpi-cheon were divided into two groups. First, Scrapers and Collectors-Gathering group which is normally dominant in midstream showed higher dominance in main stream than tributary. Second, shredders group showed higher dominance in tributary than main stream like as the general characteristics of upriver. With the result of cluster analysis based on the similarity index, the study areas could be grouped into a natural area(A group) and an artificial disturbance area(B group; site 8 and 11) where embankment, bank and levee had been built near by. And also, the natural area(A group) was classified into two groups which had the characteristic of main(site 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7) stream and tributary(site 5, 6, 9 and 10) respectively.

  • 수자원 공급의 시 공간적 편차가 큰 우리나라에서는 수자원을 이용하기 위해서 다수의 댐을 건설하고 있다. 특히, 생활수준의 향상으로 용수 수요가 급증하였기 때문에 용수가 부족한 곳에는 광역상수도 사업 등을 통하여 용수를 공급하고 있다. 댐에서 용수가 공급되기까지의 과정은 일종의 관수로 흐름으로 생각할 수 있다. 관수로 내를 흐르는 유체가 갑자기 정지하게 되면, 유체 운동 에너지의 변화가 유발되고, 그로 인해 관내에 급격한 압력의 상승이 일어나게 된다. 반대로 정지하고 있던 유체가 빠른 속도로 흐르게 되면 압력 감소가 급격하게 발생한다. 이와 같이 유체 운동 상태의 급변에 의한 압력변화와 그에 따른 압력파가 음속의 속도로 상 하류로 전파되는 현상을 수격작용(waterhammer)이라 한다. 통상적으로 수격작용은 밸브 개폐 정도가 갑자기 바뀔 때, 펌프의 급격한 기동이나 정지 시, 터빈 내 전력소요가 갑자기 바뀔 때, 댐 수위의 갑작스런 변화, 펌프 임펠러의 진동, 물 수요의 급격한 변화 등에 의해 발생하며, 수격작용은 유체의 질량과 운동량 때문에 관 벽에 큰 힘을 가하게 되어 정상적인 동수압 보다 몇 배나 큰 압력을 발생시킴으로 관 자체는 물론 펌프, 밸브, 터빈 등 관 시설물을 파손시키거나 진동, 소음 등을 야기시킴으로 대규모 건물, 공장, 발전소 등을 설계할 경우 그에 대한 적절한 대책을 강구하여야 한다. 특히 댐에 연결된 저수지 또는 조정지로부터의 도수로가 압력수로이며 그 길이가 상당히 크면 수차가 급정지했을 경우 수격작용에 의해서 압력터널 내에 과도한 압력상승이 일어난다. 이 압력상승을 방지함과 함께 발전소 부하의 증감에 따라서 수량을 공급하거나, 흡수할 목적으로 압력도수로와 수압관과의 접합부에 자유수면이 있는 수조를 설치한다. 이것을 조압수조(surge tank)라 한다(최영박, 1979). 조압수조에서 부하의 급속한 차단에 의해서 수차로 유입될 수량이 차단되면 도수로 내로 흘러 들어온 물은 관성 때문에 수조 내의 수위를 상승시키고, 수조 수위가 어느 정도 이상으로 되어 저수지 수위 보다 상승하면 수조로의 유입이 정지하고 반대로 수조에서 저수지로 역류하여 수조수위는 하강한다. 즉, 조압수조는 도수로 내에 발생한 과도한 압력을 수조 내 수면의 승강운동을 이용하여 감소시키고 원래의 안정적인 수위로 회복시킨다. 본 연구에서는 수격작용에 대한 댐 안정성을 확보하는 수단 중의 하나인 조압수조에 대해 살펴보았다. 연구대상으로 용담댐을 선정하였다. 용담댐에 대한 기존의 검토결과 수직 갱의 지름이 5m 이상이면 조압수조의 동적안정조건을 만족 시키는 것으로 조사되었다. 댐의 설계홍수위인 EL. 265.5m를 기준으로 조압수조의 안정성을 감소시키지 않는 범위 내에서 조압수조 내 격벽 설치 유 무에 따른 수조의 최적 크기를 산정하였다. 산정결과를 분석한 결과 동일 조건에서 격벽을 설치한 경우가 격벽을 설치하지 않은 경우에 비해서 조압수조의 면적이 약 21% 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Recently, the role of the contact center for business-to-consumer (B2C) operations is becoming more and more important as the customer contact point. In particular, an Internet Protocol (IP)-based contact center system is made up of a complicated information system in order to accommodate various customer channels, in addition to the telephone, and to respond in real time. However, until now, evaluations of contact centers have focused on customer service-based research from inbound contact centers. We used the contact center as a measure of performance, focusing on indicators that have traditionally influenced customer satisfaction, such as response rates and service levels. There is insufficient research on the characteristics of the services that a contact center should have and on the evaluation models for information systems. The role of information systems is becoming important as the latest contact center, which has moved from the TDM-driven digital phone system center to the IP-based contact center, accommodates a variety of digital channels other than voice phones. In particular, as offline branches decrease due to the development of the Internet and mobile phones, non-facing responses to customers are important, so the contact center has influenced the enterprise. Therefore, we developed an evaluation model not only in terms of customer service, but also from information system and business aspects, using the AHP and verifying the evaluation model through empirical cases. In particular, content analysis was used to ensure objectivity of AHP evaluation items.

Numerical Simulation of Sloshing Test for Fuel Tank of Rotorcraft (회전익항공기용 연료탱크 슬로싱 시험 수치해석)

  • The rapid turning and acceleration movement of a rotorcraft leads to a sloshing phenomenon in the fuel tank. Sloshing caused by rapid movement can affect the internal components by creating an excessive load. In severe situations, the resulting damage to the internal components and pipes can also lead to the tearing of the fuel tank itself. Therefore, to improve the survivability of the crew, the internal components of the fuel tank must be designed to retain their structural soundness during the sloshing phenomenon. In order to accomplish this, the sloshing load acting on the components first needs to be determined. This paper investigates the sloshing load applied to the internal components by performing numerical analysis for rotary-wing aircraft fuel tanks in the sloshing test. Fluid-Structural Interaction (FSI) analysis based on smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) is conducted and the conditions specified in the US military standard (MIL-DTL-27422D) are employed for the numerical simulation. Based on this numerical simulation, by analyzing the load applied to the internal components of the fuel tank due to the sloshing phenomenon, the possibility of obtaining the design data by numerical analysis is examined.

Comparison of Domestic and Foreign Design Guides of Rockfall Protection Barriers (낙석방지 울타리에 대한 국내.외 설계 지침 비교)

  • 전 국토의 65%가 산악지형으로 이루어져 있는 우리나라는 도로개설 및 산업기지 건설, 대규모 주택단지 개발 등으로 자연사면을 변형시키는 규모나 빈도가 증가하고 있고, 최근에는 기상이변에 의한 집중호우가 빈번히 발생하여 절토사면에서 낙석이 발생할 위험이 점점 높아지고 있는 실정이다. 낙석방지를 위한 대책공법으로는 낙석방지 망, 낙석방지 울타리 등이 있으며 이중에서 낙석방지 울타리는 국내의 국도 낙석방지 대책공법 중 70% 이상을 차지하고 있다. 그러나 국내 설계지침에는 낙석방지 울타리에 대한 다양한 성능등급과 성능평가를 위한 표준화된 시험방법이 제시되어 있지 않아 현장여건을 고려하여 적절한 낙석방지 울타리를 선정하고 낙석방지 울타리들의 성능을 비교검토하기에 어려움이 있다. 유럽의 경우 유럽연합 출범이후 낙석방지 시설에 대한 통합기준의 필요성이 대두되어 유럽 여러 나라의 성능평가 방법과 스위스의 설계지침을 고려하여 2008년에 유럽 통합 지침인 ETAG 27을 제정하였다. ETAG 27에는 낙석방지 울타리의 성능등급이 100kJ~4,500kJ이상 9등급으로 분류되어 있고 성능등급 별로 Service Energy Level과 Maximum Energy Level에 대하여 실물시험을 통한 성능평가 시험과 구성요소에 대한 검증시험을 수행하도록 되어있다. 실물시험은 낙석에너지의 산정과 낙석질량의 타격위치를 정확하게 결정할 수 있는 방법을 이용하여 수행토록 규정되어 있다. 미국의 경우에는 주별로 상이한 설계기준으로 인하여 발생하는 문제를 해소하기 위하여 2003년에 스위스의 설계지침을 준용하여 통합기준인 NCHRP Report 20-07을 결정하였다. NCHRP Report 20-07에는 낙석방지 울타리의 성능등급이 100kJ~5,000kJ까지 9등급으로 분류되어 있고 성능등급 별 낙석질량이 규정되어 있으며 등급별 낙석에너지의 50%와 100%에 대하여 실물시험을 통한 성능평가 시험을 수행하도록 되어 있다. 실물시험은 낙석에너지의 산정과 낙석질량의 타격위치를 정확하게 결정할 수 있는 방법을 이용하여 수행토록 규정되어 있다. 낙석방지 울타리에 대한 국내 설계지침과 유럽과 미국의 설계지침을 비교분석하고 국내에서 수행된 실물실험을 통한 성능평가 연구결과를 검토하였다. 또한 구성요소의 역학적 특성변화가 전체 시스템의 성능에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해서 국내 설계 지침에 제시된 낙석방지 울타리에 대하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 성능평가를 수행하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 국내 설계지침은 현장여건에 따라 적절한 낙석방지 울타리를 선정할 수 있도록 다양한 성능등급을 규정하고, 낙석방지 울타리의 성능을 합리적으로 비교검토 할 수 있게 하는 표준화 성능평가 시험방법과 평가기준을 정립하며, 구성요소의 품질에 대한 신뢰성을 확인하는 구성요소의 검증시험을 포함하는 방향으로 개선될 필요가 있는 것으로 조사되었다.
