Quality function deployment (QFD) is a widely adopted customer-oriented product development methodology by analyzing customer requirements. It is a main activity in QFD planning process to determine the optimal values of the technical attributes (TAs) so as to achieve the customer requirements (CRs) from the House of Quality (HoQ). In most of the previous research, all the TAs in QFD are assumed to have either continuous or discrete values. In the real world applications, the continuous TAs and the discrete TAs are often mixed in QFD. In this paper, a mixed integer linear programming model is formulated to obtain the optimal values for the continuous TAs and the discrete TAs in QFD planning as well as Branch and Bound (B and B) algorithm is proposed as the solution approach. Finally, the proposed model and solution approach are illustrated with an office chair under multi-segment market, and the sensitivity analysis is performed to study how the proposed model and its solutions respond to the variation for the two elements which are budget and CRs' weights.

The design of LAI(Local Area Identifier), the first paging area for searching the mobile terminal has a close relation with the performance of paging channel in CDMA cellular network. This paper discussed the performance of the forward channel of IS-95 CDMA standard, known as the paging through the related messages such as call control message, channel assignment message, etc. Modeling and simulation work were conducted to quantify the performance of paging channel in terms of traffic handling capacity and blocking levels. The results shown are based on a specific system call model based on the operating system of cell cite. This serves as illustrative guidelines for the proper engineering of common control channel, which has a major impact on the overall performance of cellular network.

This paper is to show the meaningfulness of applying Information Technology Architecture (ITA) to the modeling of a nation-wide e-Business architecture framework. After reviewing various architecture frameworks we suggested a unique architecture framework called VMT (Views, Models, and Time-frames). VMT represents five views of e-Business stakeholders; six models of data, function, network, agent, event, and rule; and three timeframes of short-term, mid-term, and long-term. VMT is an extension and unification of popular frameworks including Zachman's framework that has international recognition and use, C4ISR architecture framework of US DoD's, and Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) of the US Federal Government's.

Recently, the government has adjusted the 4th National Master Plan in an effect to achieve balanced national land development. However, the current traffic accident index ranks among the lowest in OECD countries, ranking 25th out of 29 countries. Therefore, this study is aimed at indicating problems with National Expressway and local roads developing a solution by analyzing the problems and suggesting the most appropriate design speed for inter-changes where the traffic accidents occur frequently. With the results, it is to obtain a design speed decision formula at interchange branch points to prevent traffic accidents, secure safe and optimal road conditions and maximize traffic load capability.

WTO체제에서 국제 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 전략의 하나로 친환경농업을 추진해온 우리나라 농업은 환경오염의 경감과 농업의 다원적 가치의 실현을 위한 친환경농업 전문가 양성이 시급하며 이를 대학 교육에서 담당할 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서 4개 사례 대학의 교과과정 분석 결과 한국의 농학계 대학에서 이루어지고 있는 환경 교육은 대부분의 대학이 대학의 명칭이나 학과의 명칭을 변경하는 과정에서 생명, 자원, 환경을 포함시키고 교육 목표에서도 환경과 관련된 내용이 제시되고 있으며, 교육과정에 환경오염방지 및 개선에 관계된 과목을 설강하여 학생들에게 수강하도록 하고 있다. 또한 농업의 위치와 사회적 역할로서 농업의 다원적 기능과 농업과 환경에 대한 강의가 일부 대학에서 이루어지고 있으며, 비농업 전공자들에게도 호응을 얻고 있다. 그러나 현재 이루어지고 있는 환경교육은 별도의 농업환경 교육과정이 마련되어 있지 않으며, 설강된 과목들도 연계성이 부족하고, 전공과목 우선으로 수강하게 되므로 그 비중이 매우 적은 실정이다. 따라서 농업환경 교과과정을 별도로 개발하여 학생들로 하여금 체계적인 교육을 받도록 할 필요가 있다. 앞으로 환경분야에 대한 사회적 직업 수요가 증가함에 따라 농학의 수요는 더욱 증가할 것이며 환경평가나 환경계획 관련 분야 및 영농현장이나 관련 기관에 종사할 인력들에게 있어서도 대학에서의 체계적인 교육이 필요하다.

유역관리를 위해서는 수량뿐만 아니라 수질에 대한 분석이 동반되어야 한다. 최근 한국건설기술연구원과 SEI-US(Stockholm Environment Institute-US Center)가 공동으로 개발하고 있는 통합수자원평가계획모형으로서 K-WEAPq(Korea-Water Evaluation And Planning System linked Qual2K)는 기존의 K-WEAP 모형의 기능을 그대로 유지하면서 보다 정확하고 다양한 오염원에 대한 하천수질모의를 하기 위해 Qual2K 모형을 연계시킨 모형으로써 유역관리를 위한 수량-수질 연계모의가 가능한 모형이다. 본 연구에서는 K-WEAPq 모형을 이용하여 낙동강 유역의 물수지 및 수질을 동시에 분석하였다. 낙동강 권역의 물수지 분석을 위해 월별 모의를 수행하였으며 각각의 중권역별 배출부하량을 산출하여 Qual2K와의 연계시스템을 통해 하천수질모의를 수행하였다. 낙동강뿐만 아니라 11개의 지류들에 대한 수질 분석을 수행함으로써 본류 수질에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 다양한 시나리오를 구축하여 오염총량제와 같은 여러가지 정책에 대한 수질 개선효과를 살펴보았다. 또한 한강권역의 지류 하천에 대한 하천유지유량을 설정하였을 경우 예상되는 영향을 검토하였다.

This paper suggested a way to solve the problems by using domain experts who are already in the significant level of knowledge in those fields. For the purpose of achieving our goal, a very simple and efficient approach to construct the knowledge-base which can play an important role in providing researchers with essential information in need was proposed. In addition, the Adaptive R&D Information Service Portal with a new schema structure and a construction method of representing expert's knowledge efficiently was developed. With the simplicity and expandability of the proposed system it can be a good model for a similar system to be developed.

Many of the development countries in the world have been investing a lot of money and developing plans for a national digital library in order to .:em the information power in the 21st century. In order for our country to compete with others, it is also urgent to build a National Digital Library in Korea, which can provide a variety of multimedia information for the people. In this study, based on the investigation of the several cases of the national digital libraries in the developed countries, we suggest a detailed plan for the National Digital Library which includes building, facilities, equipments, organization, staff, events, frictions, and expected budget.

Most old apartment housing have been replaced with new ones by means of the reconstruction. But with the change of the construction environment, remodeling is introduced as a new alternative for the replacement. Remodeling is expected to reduce national loss owing to the early reconstruction of old apartments resulted from economical and functional deterioration. But there still remains a lot of problems to be first solved for Remodeling. One of those is to figure out how to perform an economic feasibility analysis effectively. The researches of remodeling done under the rally stage are not sufficient in economic feasibility for apartment housing. Therefore, this paper suggests an effective method for the economic evaluation of remodeling projects focusing on a rental high-rise apartment.
