Beginning with the historical background under the light of which the program of naturalization proves to presuppose the mechanistic mechanistic materilalism, this paper first exposes what is the problem about intentionality, and then explains and examines the approaches to the program of naturalization of intentionality. Churchland's eliminativism and Dennett's instrumentalism are examined critically. Intentional realism is argued for;however, Dretaske's theory is preferred to than Foder's because the former but not the latter reveals least one of the various possible mechanisms of misrepresentations.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the breakup mechanism of a liquid jet in a coaxial air flow. By using the high speed camera, measured were the instantaneous change of the wave length, amuplitude of disturbance, propagation velocity of wave and breakup length, and the relationships between those data were examined. The shape of the surface of the liquid jet appeared to be rather complicated and irregular. The growth rate of disturbance was not constant, and was changed at the moment of 3ms prior to the disintegration of the liquid jet. Simultaneously at this moment, the propagation velocities of the sequential waves were reversed and the wave length was rapidly decreased.

안전, 또 안전!은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않다. 한때 우리나라는 '안전불감증'이라 해도 과언이 아닐만큼 안전에 대한 의식이 저조해서 사고가 많았다. 이에 따라 각 건설현장에서는 안전에 대한 교육을 철저히 시키고 행동강령 주지 등 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다. 특히 가스와 관련한 사고는 대형사고로 번질 가능성이 높기 때문에 작업 시 더욱 주의를 필요로 한다. 본지는 가스시공 시의 일반적인 안전수칙과 탱크, 용기, 기계실, 고소작업, 용접작업 천공 분기작업, 도시가스 공급시설물 작업 시의 안전수칙에 대하여 게재한다.

조달청에서는 2012년부터 총사업비 500억원 이상의 건축공사에 대해 3D 건축기법인 BIM 적용을 의무화하는 등 국내에 BIM이 본격 도입될 예정이다. BIM은 건축공사에서 세계적인 추세이며 앞으로 국내 도입이 가속화될 것으로 보여짐에 따라 BIM 도입을 추진하거나 준비중인 업체가 많아지고 있다. 이에 따라, 본지는 지난해 12월호에서 디지털도면 작성의 패러다임 및 BIM에 대한 개괄적인 내용과 함께 조달청의 단계적 BIM 도입 계획 등을 소개했다. BIM에 대한 독자 여러분의 관심이 많아짐에 따라 본지는 이번호에 Mechanical Electronic Plumbing 분야의 활용 사례와 주의사항 등에 대해 한번 더 게재한다.

Science, technology and machine aesthetics were the main theme of architectural design in the first machine age. Modern architecture used the theory of science as its framework. But the theory of science was used not as a professional way, but as a pseudo-scientific way by modern architects. It was because that modern architects relied on the spiritual, mystical realm of science and mathematics. Moreover, the avant-garde movement in modernism used the theory of science and mathematics for its complicated and ailenated nature and scientific image. The pseudo-scientifism in architectural design in the first machine age was expressed mainly as a concentration on the 4th dimensional space and the use of symbolic image of science and technology.

Reyner Banham characterized the Second Machine Age as the age of domestic electronics and synthetic chemistry in opposition to the First. It means technology and science would be popularized in the Second Machine Age. The Second Machine Age began in the mid-50's in which pop culture and SF became popularized. The architects in both Machine Age choose the scientifism as the motive of architectural design. But not all of them approach to the design with the pure theory of science. This study analyses the types of scientifism in architectural design in the 1950's and the 60's based on approaches to technology which might be classified as pragmatic, radical, and pop.

이 연구에서는 고속도로 신설 공사 건설 현장 근로자들의 소음 노출을 저감할 수 있는 방법들을 제시하며 특히 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 새로운 체계적인 방법인 "소음 주의 구역"을 제안한다. 고속도로 건설 현장에서 소음원이 되는 장비, 기계, 도구와 근로자들의 소음 노출 특성을 알아 보았으며, 개인청력 보호구, 공학적제어수단 (engineering controls), 관리적제어수단 (administrative controls)을 어떻게 적용할 것인가를 제시하였다. 개인청력 보호구만으로는 소음 노출을 효율적으로 저감시킬 수 없음을 보였으며, 공학적제어수단은 기술적 및 경제적 문제로, 관리적제어수단은 공사 기간 단축과 같은 실제적인 이유로 해서 시행 되기가 어렵다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 실제적으로 적용할 수 있는 체계적인 방법으로서 "소음주의구역 (Noise Perimeter Zones)"을 새롭게 제안하였다. 이 "소음주의구역"은 높은 수준의 소음원이 존재하는 고속도로 건설 공사 현장에 지정된다. 이 구역안에서는 근로자들의 출입이 통제되며 또한 개인청력 보호구, 공학적제어수단, 관리적제어수단과 같은 적절한 제어수단이 사용되어야 한다.

본문에서는 기계진동에 대한 말뚝기초의 설계에 대하여 간략하게 기술하였으며 본문에 기술된 방법들은 여러 가정들을 통하여 얻어진 것으로 경우에 따라서는 실제 거동과는 매우 상이한 거동을 예측할 수 있으므로 실제 설계에 이용되는 경우, 특히 주어진 지반의 물성치 선택 등에 주의를 요할 필요가 있다.

This article aims to trace a historical trajectory of "Humanism" as a Modern scientific concept in the light of Michel Foucault's genealogy. Generally, we believe that Humanism is a natural and eternal idea for mankind, because no one doubts that he or she is not included in the category of a "Human Being." On the contrary, according to French philosopher Foucault, the Idea of Humanism, or anthropocentrism, appeared only in the Modern Age, from the 16th century downward. Before the Renaissance, human beings did not occupy the most important status in Nature, and only existed as natural beings. As soon as mankind was liberated from the superstitious of fear and religious dogma, the concept of "Human Being" is supplied with new meanings and values. The famous maxim, such as, "Man is the lord of creation" constitutes modern human science as an inviolable category of modernity. However, Foucault tried to illuminate the hidden sides of humanism, and gave us the strict warning on the end of the human beings, which turned out to be an object of Modern knowledge. If there would be no reason to maintain a knowledge system of Modernity, in other words, Modernity as knowledge would lose its validity and we could give up Humanism as a heavy burden. Moreover, it is very clear that we are confronted with the critical moments of radical skepticism on the meaning and value for Humanity. That means that we need to think about the new transformations of Human Beings, which will probably appear in the forms of "Non-Humans," "Machines (Deleuze & Guattari)," or "Post-Humans" etc. At the present time, we cannot know if it will be positive, or negative for mankind. We should look back at the history of Humanism from a genealogical perspective, which is why we have to investigate the conceptual trajectory of Humanism in this moment.
