For this study, 228 respondents suffered from chronic diseases and 75 healthy elderlies aged over 65 were analyzed. For the data analysis, a structural equation analysis and multi-group analysis were performed. As a result, higher levels of social support for elderlies with chronic diseases showed a higher level of life satisfaction, and the self-rated health status was found to be a significant mediator. The social support of the elderlies with chronic diseases significantly impacted their self-rated health status differently on healthy elderlies. To improve the self-rated health status and life satisfaction of elderlies with chronic disease, social services should be offered with social support providers. This study is meaningful in suggesting selective implications for elderlies with chronic disease.

  • This paper explores a theoretical framework, in which compassion arising from others' suffering among organizational members can be connected to EV to CSR activities via POI. We argue that compassion may generate positive identity related to being a member of a particular organization (i.e., POI), which increases to EV to CSR, ultimately leading to the enhancement of the corporate reputation. In return, an enhanced reputation for the corporation results in an increase of employees' perceived organizational identity via increase of CEI. Employees with high POI are more likely to carry out compassion and share it with others within an organization. In short, the positive circulation between compassion and EV to CSR as shown in Figure 2 demonstrates not only the ways in which compassion among organizational members can evoke EV to CSR through POI, but also how EV to CSR can facilitate compassion within an organization in terms of enhanced corporate reputation.

As a result of verifying the relationship between social support and empathy ability, the supervisor support did not have a positive effect on cognitive empathy while the co-worker support did have a positive effect of cognitive empathy. The supervisor support had a positive effect on emotional empathy and the co-worker support had a positive effect on emotional empathy. Second, the self-soothing ability of a service employee had a positive effect on empathy ability and a positive effect on both cognitive empathy and emotional empathy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of CSV on business performance through social capital and the effect of organizational agility on business performance for employees of financial institutions. The results of the study are as follows. First, economic value had a positive effect on structural and relational capital, but social value had a positive effect on relational capital only. Second, organizational agility had a positive effect on financial and non-financial performance. Third, structural capital had a positive effect only on non-financial performance, and relational capital had a positive effect on financial and non-financial performance. In summarizing these findings, it was confirmed that although most of the variables had a positive effect, social value did not affect structural capital and structural capital did not affect financial performance. Based on such research results, the necessity of strengthening social value and structural capital was proposed to increase the management performance of financial institutions, and conclusions, implications, and future research directions were presented.
