A study on Development of Expert System for Process and Die design of Hot Extrusion through Square Dies (평금형을 통한 열간압출의 공정 및 금형설계용 전문가 시스템 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents development of an expert system for process and die design of hot extrusion through square dies. The design of extrusion dies is still an art rathere than a science with increasing complexity of shape and thinness of section. Therefore, most of the die design is still dependent on personal judgement, intuition and experience. The objective of this study is to develop an expert system which includes a rule base system extracted from literatures and experts in the extrusion industry. The system also includes finite element simulation program. The developed system is effectively used to design two types of processes and dies with lead time and trial extrusion.

A New Runner System for Filling Balance in the Multi-Cavities Molds (다수 캐비티에서의 균형충전을 위한 새로운 러너 시스템)

  • Almost all injection molds have multi-cavity runner system for mass production, which are designed with geometrically balanced runner system in order to accomplish filling balance between cavity to cavity during processing. However, even though geometrically balanced runner is used, filling imbalances have been observed. So, many studies for improving filling balance in the multi-cavities molds are worked up. In this study, the Melt-Buffer which is a new runner system for filling balance has been suggested, and a series of experiment about degree of filling balance in cavity-to-cavity was conducted in the mold with the Melt-Buffer. From the experiment, the filling balance was increased up to $5^{\sim}6%$ by using the Melt-Buffer.

  • This paper explores the applications of feature-based representation and design in the area of design for manufacturing to incorporate the tooling and process considerations into the early stages of bonnet tool design. The goal of this research is apply the concepts of feature-based design and to development an interactive design tool using relations and arrive at optimal design for the given process conditions. This paper illustrates the development of a tool design aided system that was constructed using these concepts and applied to designing bonnet sheet metal parts.

  • On-machine measuring system of Numerically Control(NC) machines permit computer control of basic material cutting processes of moulds. A part of mould designed within a CAD/CAM system can be manufactured by generation of tool paths by the measuring systems. Since the three-dimensional geometry by AutoCAD of the part is contained in the data base, the manufacturing specialist combined with the appropriate software simulation, can not only create the commands to drive the virtual measuring and standardization of measuring modules but also can check for mistakes by viewing the computer graphics simulation of the tool cutting sequence.

  • When the mold is cooled suddenly to reduce the time for forming work and improve the quality of jar50ml which is different highly at rib thickness by a series of various curvature radii, the poor quality of void, flow and deformation happens. The structure of spiral cooling circuit at cavity and core can control the temperature of inner and outer side sufficiently. And the system can control cooling and heating automatically. These things are applied to Jar mold. and so, the best quality and the effect of productivity improvement can be obtained.

  • 1. CAD system과 PROPS를 접속하여 CADsystem에서 Design된 surface를 사용할 수 있으며 Robot Kinematics를 graphic library화하여 surface배치 수상 및 path generation 및 animation을 통하여 가공작업을 위한 로보트 운동을 simulation할 수 있게 되었다. 2. Denavit-hartenberg transformation form에 의해 여러 Robot Kinematic을 일반적인 형식으로 library화 하였다. 3. 금형 가공의 공정들을 Menu로 만들어서 Expert system을 도입, 손쉽게 Interactive한 작업을 할 수 있게 하였다. 4. 차후의 연구 목표는 로보트 Calibration S/W의 개발 및 실현 그리고 Expert System을 이용한 Robot Program Generator의 완성을 통한 전체 Off-line programming System을 정립하는데 있다. 이를 위해서 더 실제적인 Tool Path Generation과 Expert System을 이용한 가공 조건의 결정 및 User Interface를 위한 Window가 개발되어야 한다. 5. 1차년도에 개발된 Robotonomic Tool System의 유연성을 확장시킨다. 실험결과를 바탕으로 공정 자동화 시스템을 확장시킨다. 6. 연마공정자동화에 필수적인 공구 및 공구 Tip의 표준화 및 자동교환장치를 개발한다. 7. 금형연마 Cell의 구성요소들간의 Interface 및 System Controller에서의 집적화를 시킨다.

  • The objective of manufacturing knowledge sharing platform is to convert the production experience like a worker's know-how into quantitative values, to construct database of the process technologies and to share the technologies systematically via web portal service. In addition, the knowledge sharing platform contains the total production processes of automobile and mobile products such as information of experts, facilities, and cutting-edge R&D outputs. Automobile, telecommunication mobile, and semiconductors account for a large amount of Korea's export industry rate. These industries need production technology which is a result of converting worker's know-how and R&D. Manufacturing knowledge portal aims to enable transforming production experience such as worker's know-how into standardized form for constructing database and sharing technologies systematically. Manufacturing knowledge portal can contribute to small and mid-sized manufacturing companies with further improvements.

  • In this paper, the web-based monitoring system is developed for the process monitoring of mold manufacturing. The cutting force is measured by hall-sensors which is low cost and useful to be installed in machine tool indirectly. Specially, the current of main spindle in machine tool is converted into cutting force by various experiments. For effective emote monitoring, the interface that is able to offer the information of current process and cutting signal to client is establish.

  • Mold design is a knowledge-intensive decision making process where product designer, injection molding engineer as well as mold designer affect each other. Representation and management of design knowledge is a prerequisite for an intelligent design system, which aims to guide and support designer to carry out design activity in more efficient way by avoiding or minimizing unnecessary trial and errors. This paper discusses the issues in knowledge-based mold design, and describes the structure of a knowledge-based mold design system fur parts with micro features under development.

수직 평판 위에서 과소팽창 제트의 충돌

  • 충돌제트는 산업, 항공우주, 군사 분야 등 공학적으로 많은 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 산업분야에서 충돌제트는 설치가 간단하고 형태가 단순하면서도 열 및 물질 전달효과가 상당히 크기 때문에 고효율의 열전달 효과를 얻을 수 있다는 점에서 광범위하게 응용된다. 예를 들면 물체 표면의 부분냉각은 고온 금형의 급속 냉각, 가스터빈 깃의 냉각, 전자부품의 냉각 등에 이용되며 부분 가열에서는 제철, 제지 및 유리공업, 금형의 풀림 등에 폭 넓게 적용된다. 항공우주, 군사분야에서는 수직/단거리 이·착륙기(V/STOL)의 발진, 미사일 발사시스템, 다단 로켓의 분리, 우주공간에서의 도킹, 화염 편향기 등에 적용이 되며 대부분 평판이나 특수한 판의 형상에 과소 팽창제트가 충돌할 때 발생하는 현상에 대한 것이다.
