This study examined how students revised their writing after reciprocal peer review and how their revision activities were influenced by the review. Undergraduates in physics class wrote a laboratory reports, exchanged comments with peers, and revised their reports afterward based on the comments they received from their peers. The comparison between the original and the revised drafts showed that students were mainly concerned with micro-meaning revisions, focusing on making changes on individual words, clauses, and sentences. Revisions that dealt with macro-meaning of the texts were not as frequent. Giving and receiving comments influenced later revision activities. Receiving comments on micro-meaning of the texts led to a significant increase in both micro- and macro-meaning revisions. Receiving comments on macro-meaning of the texts, however, did not prompt relevant revision activities. Even when students engaged in macro revision, it was negatively related to writing performance gains in one subgroup, suggesting that even after peers point out macro-problems in their writing, students are not competent to solve the problems yet. The results of the study suggest that more efforts are needed to help them to understand and manipulate the macro-meaning structure of the texts.

This study aimed to explore the role of models and reformulations as feedback to English writing in L2 learners' noticing and their writing. 92 participants were placed into three groups; a models group (MG), a reformulations group (RG), a control group (CG), involved in a three-stage writing task. In stage 1, they were asked to perform a 1st draft of writing, while taking notes on the problems they experienced. In stage 2, the MG was asked to compare their writing with a model text and the RG with a reformulated version of it. They were instructed to write down whatever they noticed in their comparison. The CG was asked to just read their writing. In stage 3, all the participants attempted subsequent revisions. The results indicated that all the participants noticed problematic linguistic features the most in a lexical category, and models and reformulations led to higher rate of noticing the problematic linguistic features reported in stage 1 and contributed to subsequent revisions. It was also revealed that the MG and RG significantly improved with their writings of MG and RG on the post-writing test. The findings imply that models and reformulations result in better performance in L2 writing and should be promoted in an English writing class.

Wikipedia is one of the world's most visited sites for content collaboration. Its success is due to thousands of volunteers' motivation and commitment to contribute their knowledge to Wikipedia. In this paper, we use the Cox regression model to assess the effect of self-loop editing on the promotion of Wikipedia featured articles. We collected 2978 Wikipedia featured article editing history from start of Wikipedia until 2011. We use self-loops as a proxy measure for Wikipedia editors' commitment, and find that self-loop editing has a positive effect on the promotion of featured articles. We further distinguish the self-loop into a short-term self-loop and a long-term self-loop. We find that long-term self-loop editing is more helpful than short-term self-loop editing. This research has been conducted with both theoretical and practical application methods.

품사 부착 코퍼스를 구축하기 위해서는 일반적으로 형태소 분석, 자동 품사 태깅, 수동 또는 자동 오류 수정의 단계를 거친다. 이 글은 그 마지막 단계의 일환인 수동으로 오류를 수정하는 과정에서 요구되는 여러 가지 정보의 필요성과 문제점에 대해 기술하고자 한다. 조사와 어미의 처리 문제, 접두사/접미사 처리 문제, 다품사 문제 등은 정밀도 높은 코퍼스를 구축하는 데 중요한 열쇠가 되기 때문이다. 자연 언어 자료인 코퍼스에 일관성 있는 품사 정보가 부착된다면 정보 검색이나 사전 구축 등 언어 정보 처리 연구에 중요한 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

분단으로 빚어진 남북한 사회의 이질화는 한글과 조선글이라는 쌍둥이의 탄생으로 연결되고, 이들 둘은 자모순이 다르고 음절 부호화 방식을 채택하였기 때문에 정보교환을 함에 있어서 돌아오지 못할 다리를 건너고 말았다. 이제 남북경협의 본격화가 예상되고 그에 따른 정보교환의 급증이 예상되는 시점에서 최근 개정된 조선글 두바이트 부호 국규 9566-97의 분석을 통하여 양 문자를 통합할 수 있는 기틀을 마련하고자 한다 여기서 문제 해결의 핵심은 자모순이 서로 다름으로 인하여 빚어지는 것으로 이들 남북의 자모순 및 정보교환용 문자부호 표준화를 위하여 몇 가지 모색을 하고 방법을 논한다. 또한 남한안 일변도인 국제 문자부호 표준에 대하여 북한의 수정요구가 진행되고 있고 그 내용과 조선글 두바이트 부호안을 종합하여 표준을 마련하기 위한 기본 방향을 설정하고 허배선생의 연구를 통하여 새로운 자모순 모색의 가능성을 논한다.

이 글의 목적은 조음기관의 구조와 그 움직임에 의해 발생하는 음향학적 원리를 소개하는 데 있다. 이 글에서 논의되는 부분은 모음, 마찰음, 비음, 파찰음, 유음, 이중모음, 활음 등이 모두 포함되지만 상세한 논의는 주로 모음, 마찰음, 비음에 한정하여 진행된다. 왜냐하면 이들에 대한 논의가 다른 소리의 분석에 비슷하게 적용될 수 있기 때문이다. 예를 들어 활음(glide)은 모음의 생성에 관한 설명을, 파찰음의 경우는 마찰음의 것을 수정하여 적용할 수 있다. (중략)
