2008년 글로벌 경제위기 이후 회복세를 보이던 세계 경제가 유럽 등 각국의 재정위기 여파로 장기간의 저성장 국면에 접어들었다는 견해가 확산되고 있다. 이러한 장기침체 국면에서 지속 성장을 달성하기 위해서는 경쟁우위 확보 전략을 원점에서 재검토해야 한다. 또한 기업이 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해서는 품질 측면의 차별화 전략과 원가 측면의 저비용 전략을 실행해야 한다. 여기서는 삼성경제연구소의 '강한 기업의 저성장기 극복전략' 보고서를 통해 위기에서 선전하고 있는 주요 기업의 사례를 중심으로 강한 기업의 저성장기 전략의 특징과 차별화 전략을 저비용 전략의 관점에서 살펴본다.

올 하반기 세계경제는 상반기보다 다소 호전될 전망이다. 미국경제의 회복이 재개되고 유로존이 침체에서 벗어나는 등 선진국 경제의 활력이 높아질 것으로 예상된다. 다만 하반기 선진국의 출구전략이 가시화되면서 글로벌 유동성 증가세의 둔화가 불가피할 것으로 보인다. 세계적인 금리상승이 자산 가격과 성장에 부정적 영향을 미치고 금융시장의 불확실성을 확대시킬 전망이다. 그간 자본유입이 많고 경제여건이 취약한 신흥국들을 중심으로 자본이 급격히 이탈하는 금융위기 가능성도 남아 있다. 최근 금융시장의 불안정성이 부각된 중국은 금융위기나 급격한 침체 가능성은 크지 않으나 정부의 성장견인 역할 축소로 장기적인 감속이 불가피할 것으로 보인다. 세계 경제 회복속도는 빠르지 않을 것이며 연간으로 지난해와 비슷한 3% 초반 성장에 머물 것으로 전망된다.

지난 15년간 한국경제는 두 번의 금융위기인 1997년의 아시아 금융위기와 2008년의 글로벌 금융위기로 인해 엄청난 경제손실을 입었다. 이와 같이 우리 경제의 고유한 문제이기 보다는 외부에서 발생한 일련의 사건들은 GDP와 같은 국내 거시경제지표들뿐만 아니라 국내 항만들의 컨테이너처리물동량에도 많은 영향을 주었다. 본 연구에서 두 번의 금융위기를 독립적이며 상이한 형태의 외부의 영향으로 가정한 뒤, 국내 항만들의 컨테이너처리물동량에 어떤 영향을 주었는지에 대한 개입분석을 수행한다. 그래서 각기 다른 충격들에 대한 컨테이너처리량을 변화와 함께 그 충격들 간의 특성규명을 통해 우리나라 항만산업에 다양한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

As the global economic crisis, the Korean foreign exchange market appears unstable with large fluctuations in exchange rate. Inevitably, there is growing attention on price variables such as exchange rate and interest rates and also on corelation between the factors. This is an empirical study on the causality of fluctuation between exchange rate and interest rate in the Korean market under global economic crisis. The fluctuations in won/dollar exchange rate and call rate are described and followed by analysis of lead-lag relationship between the two variables using Cross-correlation function and Granger causality test.

This study analyzed the relationship between housing price, purchase price, Gini coefficient, interest rate, and the employment, considering that the change in housing price was an important factor influencing macroeconomic variables and income inequality. The panel VAR model was constructed considering the panel data, and the Granger causality, Impulse response and Variance dispersion analysis were performed. As a result, when compared to before and after the global financial crisis, it was shown that the rent price had an effect on income inequality, but in the following period, both the rent price and the selling price affected the income inequality. And that it has a large impact on inequality. In addition, the causality between income inequality and employment rate, interest rate, and tax rate was confirmed. Therefore, it is expected that it will be a desirable policy to mitigate income inequality considering the influence of policy variables for economic activation including government real estate policy.

지난 2008년은 글로벌 금융위기에 의한 악재가 해운시장에 그대로 반영된 한 해였다. 지난해 9월15일 리먼브러더스 파산신청을 계기로 시작된 미국발 금융위기가 급속도로 실물경제로 전이되면서 세계교역량이 급격히 감소하면서 세계해운시장은 벼랑 끝으로 추락했다. 다음은 Lloyd's Shipping Economist 2월호 '통계로 본 2008년 해운시황 회고'를 정리한 것이다.

In this paper, we explore the effects of export insurance on the Korea's export by using the gravity model with the data of 112 countries that Korea exports on years of 2005 and 2009. For this model, we used the Korea export as a dependent variables and real GDP, distance between the two nations, export insurance, country credit rating of the Korea's counterpart countries and FTA were used as an independent variables. The results show that the underwriting performance of the export insurance and the sovereign credit rating of the export counterpart countries have the positive impact on Korea's export. Also, the impact of the export insurance is more increasing to the Korea exportation but the importance of the economy size of the export counterpart countries decreased after 2008 global financial crisis. Particularly, the influence to the export by the sovereign credit rating has diminished in that period and this seems to be due to the export insurance has increased. These results imply that the export insurance plays an important role to promote the Korea's exportation since 2008 global recession. Especially, if the recession continues, then there will be more crippling impact to the small-mid size companies rather than large size companies. Therefore, Korea government should do their best to continuously expand the export insurance for the purpose of increasing Korea exportation, expecially to the small-mid size companies.
