The purpose of this study is to suggest design characteristics of picture books for silver generation empirically through academic consideration of necessity and characteristics of picture books targeting silver generation. Through an analytical result of literature materials such as library and information science, pedagogy, and literature therapeutics, and aging phenomenon, picture books help mental and physical health of silver generation, but picture books for silver generation are insufficient in comparison with demand. Therefore, a theoretical basis of study and development of fairy tale books for silver generation is acutely needed. This study suggested that close attention for characteristics of silver generation is needed to solve a problem about dyslexia of silver generation in story, picture(expression, size, layout, structure, and color), and typography of characteristic factors of picture on designing fairy tale books for silver generation, suggesting needs to develop picture books reflecting characteristics such as visual organ, body function, and psychological factor of silver generation. In addition, design characteristics for composition of picture books for silver generation will be used as part of advanced data in a study on solid analytical data through an actual analysis on silver generation in the future.

This study aims at analyzing educational effects of the horticultural picture books, which are depending on B.S. Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. After collecting various horticulture-related picture books, this study classified them by the B.S bloom's educational taxonomy. There were objectives of the cognitive domain, objectives of the affective domain, psychomotor domain in plants and gardening activities. And the cognitive domain, affective domain, psychomotor domain subdivided into the sub-region can learn from the horticulture picture books to teach the unique characteristics could be found. To know the teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of using picture books in the horticulture class, questionnaire were analyzed from the survey. As a result, by Bloom's educational taxonomy area they preferred children's books. Teacher think that fairy tale books promote the interest of the children and have the advantage of fostering creativity. In addition, an easy point to get in school, lack of hours in the effective education to help horticulture that was expected. The cognitions of most effective storytelling method of horticulture picture book was story immersion. And the effective activity after reading picture book was drawing picture. Also, the most effective teaching materials was a real-life picture.

동화작가로 유명한 앤서니 브라운의 동화책 속 세계여행전시회가 오는 8월 30일까지 세종문화회관 미술관에서 열린다. 전시회는 앤서니 브라운의 그림책 전작 31권의 일러스트 원화 280여 점과 현대미술가들의 입체조각 및 영상작품들로 구성된다. 앤서니 브라운의 그림책을 마음껏 읽을 수 있는 작은 도서관이 마련돼 있으며, 전시회에 입장한 모든 어린이들에게는 앤서니 브라운의 창의력향상 워크북을 증정한다. 한편 앤서니 브라운의 낭독회는 8월 5일과 6일 열리며, 사인회는 오는 8월 5일부터 15일까지 열린다. 자세한 일정은 전시회 홈페이지를 참고하면 된다.

Even the animation is considered as of the publication at the planning s tsge. However, when we take a look at domestic condition we come to know that Korean juvenile publishing has been occupied mostly by the studying book. Also, the cautious book selection by the well educated parents in l990's has brought up the change of juvenile publishing world. Such a presen t condition bears of juvenlie publi.,;hing world. Such a present condition bears problem, which is the checking 190 translat.ions among the published picture- books of the last ye ar children's book Nevertheless, there was a sucessful domestic planned creative picture book last year. That is "Puppy s shit", which was sold out 15 000 copies and be st se ller of children's book. Whe n we take a look at the commercial success of "Puppy s shit", it is possible that domestic work holds a position in the publishing market. "Puppy s shit" is the story about valuable nature with Korean styled illustration, which tells the prefemece of Korean book in do mestic pu blis hin f.i market. With the motto "Finding prospect of the Korean creative children's book", this paper was went throu gh. 본 논문은 기존의 전자동화책과는 달리 유아들에게 보다 효율적이고 효과적인 전자동화책을 제작하기 위해 유아의 학습 능력을 강조하여 오프라인의 출판 원작동화의 내용과 그림을 안드로이드 기반으로 인터렉티브 에듀테인먼트 컨텐츠를 제안하고자 한다. 즉, 동화책 내용을 음성으로 듣기 기능은 물론 줄거리에 맞춰 캐릭터들이 살아 움직이도록 인터렉티브 액션을 통하여 기능을 구현하기 위한 프로토타입을 제안한다.

As the population of silver generation is increased, there are emerged the aging society and the silver industry as social issues. Previous studies in the fields of library & information science, education, the industrial art science suggested the need for fairy tale books for the silver generation, and from the design perspective, the characteristics of fairy tale books for the silver generation were analyzed. A fairy tale book is not only a medium delivering some information, but also a platform that a writer provides services to readers. Therefore, the purpose of this study aimed to suggest the importance of sensual experience on the design of fairy book for the silver generation, and to analyze such kind of fairy book's format, grid, typography, type, edition structure, image, layout, cover, paper, printing and production on the basis of five senses. According to the findings of this study, it was found that fairy tale books for the silver generation had different characteristics(type, picture, color, paper, etc.) from those for children, and it would be desirable to make designs for fairy tale books for the silver generation under the silver generation's esthetics standards with considering the silver generation's physiological, psychological factors. It is expected that this study would become a good foundation for more intensive researches for fairy tale books for the silver generation in future and would also be theoretically helpful in developing fairy tale books for the silver generation in future.

The effect of prosocial story telling and discussion on the development of children's helping and sharing behaviors and prosocial reasoning was studied. Subjects were 36 five-year-old kindergarten children assigned to control or experimental groups. The research design consisted of a pre-test and pre-observation, 6 week intervention, and post-test and post-observation. Data were collected by means of a video camera and analyzed by adjusted means and ANCOVA, using the SPSS/PC+. Both children's helping behavior and prosocial reasoning was higher in the group exposed to prosocial story telling with discussion as compared with the group with story telling only and the control group.

This study shows whether the 14-week picture story reading program offered to the multi-cultural women has effects on encouraging their confidence. As a result of the study, (1) this program helped them to have confidence in reading Korean books. (2) However, it did not help them raise confidence in themselves. (3) This story reading program offered a lot of factors to help them have confidence in living in Korea. (4) The women had dreams, but they did not have enough confidence and information to make their dreams come true. Based on these results, this study suggests that libraries should provide multi-cultural women with bibliotherapy programs, multi-cultural community groups and classes for multi-cultural house wives, and information literacy programs through picture story books to help make their lives in Korea easier.

본 논문은 기존의 2D 전자 동화책과는 달리 유아들에게 보다 창의적이고, 극적표현력을 길러줄 수 있도록 오프라인의 출판 원작동화의 내용과 그림을 안드로이드 기반으로 3D 입체 기술을 접목시킨 인터렉티브 에듀테인먼트로 3D 입체 전자동화를 개발한다. 즉, 동화의 줄거리에 따라 살아 움직이는 장면을 인터렉티브 애니메이션 뿐 만 아니라 좀 더 생생하게 동화를 체험할 수 있는 인터렉티브 3D 입체 전자 동화를 개발한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of illustrated children's book in providing information about tonsillectomy to improve post tonsillectomy pain control and compliance to treatment for preschoolers. Methods: The design of the study was a quasi-experimental, post-test only design. Subjects were preschoolers aged between 3 and 7 years old who were admitted to a hospital for tonsillectomy. A group of 25 children were assigned to an experimental group, and another 25 were assigned to a control group. The data were analysed using SPSS 12.0 program. The homogeneity between two groups was examined using $x^2-test$. The hypotheses testing was conducted using t-test. Results: The experimental group had lower pain score than control group at 8 hour after tonsillectomy (p<.05). Pain score was also lower in the experimental group after 24 hour after the surgery (p<.05). The experimental group had higher pain questionnaire score than control group at 8 hours after surgery, however the difference was not significant. The experimental group showed better compliance to treatment than the control group (p<.05). Conclusion: Providing illustrated children's book for the purpose of providing information about tonsillectomy was effective intervention for the control of post tonsillectomy pain and improvement of compliance to treatment for preschoolers. Illustrated children's book could be applied as a nursing intervention to relieve post tonsillectomy pain and improve compliance to treatment for preschoolers.
